Chapter Forty One

3rd Person's Point Of View

"It'll be me, you, and some of my friends. You've met them before." Dylan persuaded. "It's just to start off Christmas Eve."

"What about the boys?" Lyla crossed her arms.

"Yeah! She can't leave!" Ben shouted from the couch. Him and the other six do not want Lyla near Dylan

"Come on Lyla. You're my best friend." Dylan says.

Lyle feels a pair of arms wrap around her from behind, giving her a back hug. The person laid their head on her shoulder. She turns her head slightly and sees Jameson glaring at Dylan.

"Mine." He said with dominance.

"Woah. Easy there Jamie." Dylan holds up his hands. He's heard Lyla call Jameson, James several times, so he thought he could as well.

"Don't call me that." Jaemson growls, his nose twitching in irritation.

"My bad my bad." Dylan apologized, not believing that the loving bunny could be so mean.

Lyla turns and faces Jameson, still in his arms.

Dylan grimaces at the two. He's way too close to her.

Lyla rubs Jameson's ear with one hand, just how he likes it.

He immediately softens, a small, relaxed smile on his face. Dylan was surprised at how easily Lyla could get him to calm down.

"It's okay Jamie. Remember, he is a friend." Lyla says gently.

Jameson pouts slightly. He drops the pout when Lyla scratches the bottom corner of his ear. His soft spot.

After a lot of arguing, the boys end up going with the two and bowling.

"So you guys will be in your own game." Lyla informed the boys, who were trying their best to tie their shoes. "I'll be with Dylan and his friends in the lane right beside yours. Okay?"

Sammi leaned back in her chair, glaring at Dylan. Dylan flipped her off.

"Dylan, come on." Lyla said as she pushed Sammi back into her chair.

"Alright Ly, you're first!" Charlie, one of Dylan's friends announced from the control board.

"Guys, I haven't bowled since I was like, 6." Lyla's shoulders slumped.

"Just try it!" Samuel encouraged. "You can do it."

Lyla sighed with a smile on her face.

She tried her best, but the bowling ball immediately went into the gutter.

Nalla tried her best to hide her laugh.

Lyla got red as she watched her ball roll down the gutter.

"It's okay Ly!" Jackson shouted, covering Charlie's mouth so his laughs couldn't be heard. "Try again!"

Lyla did the walk of shame as she picked up another bowling ball.

This one went a little further before it rolled into the gutter.

"Oh boy." Connor rubbed his eyes, watching Lyla walk to her seat.

"Lighten up Ly." Dylan bumped his hip in her's. "You'll get it."

Lyla sighed as she plopped down in her seat.

Dylan glanced over at the pets. They were all glaring at the other group of seven. No one had even touched a bowling ball.

"Are you gonna bowl?" Dylan called over to them as he bowled a strike. "Or you gonna watch?"

Jameson shot to his feet and stormed over to the balls. He bowled with such speed, that even Dylan was surprised. Jameson got a strike like it was nothing.

"Good job Jameson!" Lyla cheered from her seat beside Charlie.

Jameson smiled softly before sticking his tongue out a Dylan.

Dylan scoffed as he watched the bunny and the guinea pig high five.

"Hey!" Lyla protested as she watched KJ bowl into the gutter. "Why aren't you guys making fun of KJ?"

"Because there's no helping, that." Jackson shoved KJ lightly.

"You wanna go Asshole?" KJ threatened in a joking matter, squaring up.

"You bet bitch boy!" Jackson laughed, swinging at KJ's head.

"What did you just call me?" KJ demanded, dodging the fist.

"Bitch boy." Jackson smiled.

"Alright love birds." Dylan pushed the two apart. "There's a girl here. Do you want her to see you cry?"

"Cry?!" KJ and Jackson demanded.

"Just sit down." Dylan laughed.

"Why would they want to fight each other?" Nick asked Sammi from their seat, studying the hot headed boys.

"Because they think they are cool." Sammi educated. "In reality, they're a bunch of two year boys."

Nick nodded and then stood up to bowl. Just as he was going to grab his ball, Nick's ear perked up.

He looked over at Lyla and saw Dylan helping Lyla bowl. Dylan is behind Lyla, leaning over her and helping her do the motions for bowling, basically making her arm do it with his own.

Nick's mind flashed back to the day in the park where that creepy old man was threatening Lyla. Except the old man is now Dylan.

No, he can't be that close to her. He's too close

"Back off." Nick threatened, standing next to the two, hatred in his eyes.

"I'm only helping her. Got a problem?" Dylan stood up straight, making himself seem taller as he got defensive as well.

"Yeah, I do actually." Nick crossed his arms, stepping closer to Dylan. "She is mine. My owner, under my protection. Mine." Nick pokes Dylan's chest with every mine and my.

"Oh yeah? Well, we've been best friends since we were 9. If she is anyone's, then she's mine." Dylan pushes Nick back slightly.

"No she's not." Nick says lowly.

"Yes, She is." Dylan steps closer.

"Hey." Lyla pushes the two apart from each other. "Knock it off. I'm no one's. I belong to myself. I can decide what I want. Problem solved. Now, let's finish this game."

Dylan's friends applauded from their seats

"You tell them Lyla!" Charlie encouraged.

"Yeah! Way to show some girl power!" Samuel whistled, making people stare.

"You owe me ten bucks. I told you she would win." Connor told Jackson, holding out his hand.

Jackson grumbled as handed over a ten and KJ laughed.

Lyla scratches Nick's ears under his beanie to calm him down and for him to be happier again.

"I don't like Dylan." Jimin grumbled as Lyla sat down beside him.

"I know, but we're almost done with the game. Can you tolerate him for 30 more minutes?" Lyla leaned against Jimin, rubbing his hand.

"I guess. Only if we can watch a movie tonight." Jimin compromised.

"Of course!" Lyla's smile dropped. "Wait, I forgot."

"What did you forget?" Namjoon asked, sitting down on the other side of Lyla.

"Dylan and his friends are coming over to celebrate Christmas with us tonight."
