Chapter Fifty One

Sammi's Point Of View

I looked up as the dim lights extinguished completely.

"What is going on?!" Nala shouted, facing the door. "What are you planning now?"

"Shh!" I hissed, standing up quickly.

Everyone turned their head towards me, eyes wide.

I stepped towards my cage and pushed on the door.

It swung open.

Elisa's Point Of View

"Lyla! Lyla!" I shook her, staring at her eyes, waiting for a response. "Come on!"

"What did you do to her?!" A familiar voice screeched from behind me.

I rolled my eyes

Great

Dylan's here

I didn't budge when Dylan ran over to us, him trying to shove me out of his way.

"Hello to you too, bastard." I mumbled sarcastically, hitting Lyla's face lightly.

"Bastard?!" Dylan reeled on me. "I'm not the reason why she is here!" Dylan paused. "Am I?"

I clenched my teeth. "Don't anger me." I faced Lyla again. "You'll regret it."

Lyla's Point Of View

"Daddy!" I giggled and ran towards my newly arrived father as he closed the door behind me.

I was just about to wrap my arms around his legs before he shoved my head out of his way, my body following.

Landing on my butt, my lip quivered as tears threatened to spill.

"Don't get in my way."

"Hey little Ly." Anna (her older sister) Smiled as she crouched down beside me, lifting my head up so I would look her in the eyes. "Dont listen to him. He's being a jerk."

I sniffed and hugged my knees tighter to my chest.

"Come on." Anna stood up and offered her hand to me. "Let's go play outside with Drew. I'll help you push him on his swing." -

—-

"Drew." I mumbled, my eyebrows wavering.

I twitched my fingers and felt something cold and smooth.

It was, a circle?

I bounced my feet on the ground as I fingered the bottom of my dress, a wide smile on my face.

Watching Dylan, hoping he would look at me, I felt a swarm of proudness flush through me.

That was my best friend. My goofy boy I met when I was 9. My Dylan.

He was growing up, becoming a man.

He was graduating his training and becoming a police officer.

I clapped when Dylan received his badge. I took pictures of him when the real photographers did. I whispered to the lady beside me that he is my best friend.

I ran to him and hugged him when he walked down from the podium, the ceremony over.

"I bought you a present." I eagerly searched through my bag to find it.

Dylan rolled his eyes. "I thought I said no gifts."

"And I thought you knew that I don't listen." I retaliated, grabbing the gift and showing it to Dylan.

"That's actually really cute." Dylan smiled sweetly as he took it from my hands. "Thanks Ly." -

"Dylan?" I opened my eyes, ignoring my burning insides screaming.

"It's about time Ly." Dylan smiled down at me, him adjusting me in his arms.

"Are you okay? What did they do to you? Did they inject anything into you? Did they take your blood? Can you see properly?" Some girl with cat ears bumped into Dylan as she interrogated me.

"Um, who are you?"

Peter's Point of View

"Jameson, give me your hand." I held out my hand for the shaking boy beside me

He didn't waste any time latching onto my own hand.

"We're going to find Lyla. Lyla is going to be fine and so is Elisa. ELisa is very strong, stronger than all of us combined. She will be okay." I reassured the little bunny, linking arms with him.

"I don't mean to be rude," Sammi whispered from in front of us. "But shut up."

Nalla stopped us when she peered over a corner.

She stared at Sammi with wide eyes, shaking her head no.

Sammi sighed and cracked her neck, shaking her hands in anticipation.

"I'll be back in a second. Jameson," She turned toward the boy. "Cover your ears."

Elisa's Point Of View

I stumbled backwards, my heart throbbing, and actual tears about to fall.

How does she not remember me? After all that we've been through? I don't understand.

I looked at Dylan for help, but even he looked shocked. Lyla stared at both of us, frowning when her eyes landed on me.

"Am I supposed to remember you?" She tilted her head as she studied me

My knees shook, my hands clamming, my mind racing.

I fell to the floor, sobbing.

Lyla's Father's Point Of View

"So everything went as planned with my daughter?" I leaned forward, resting my hands on my desk.

"Yes sir." Daniel nodded. "Her mind is washed from the past year or so, just as you conducted."

"Perfect." I sighed, leaning backwards once again. "I will have my daughter by my side."

Lyla's Point Of View

You're supposed to know her. That's.... Her name is ...

Why can't I remember?

I know I've known her before.

It's just out of my reach.

"What's her name?" I whispered to Dylan, my heart dropping as I watched the man cry helplessly on the ground.

"Elisa." Dylan stood me on my feet gently, grasping my hand for a split second before letting go.

I nodded and stumbled slightly as I crouched down beside ELisa.

"Elisa." I don't know why I called him that, it just felt right. "I'm so sorry I don't remember you." I opened my mouth to continue, but Elisa beat me to it.

"I ran into the glass separating us a the pet store. I only did it to see you smile, knowing that I was the reason you looked so beautiful. I saved you in the alley from a group of men. You didn't know I was a human, but only as your beloved cat. I called Dylan." Elisa swallowed and sniffed as she pulled something out of her pocket. It was an old and damaged stuffed fish. "You gave me a small fish when you brought me home the first day." Elisa grabbed my hand and pointed to one of my rings, the golden leaf one. "I bought you this ring to make you smile while you were in the hospital." Tears slipped off Elisa's cheeks. "Lyla, I'm you fluffy cat. Please remember me, you have to." Elisa begged, holding my hand tightly.

"I, I'm sorry." I took my hand back, shaking my head, frowning and stared at the ground. "I can't remember anything about you."

Elisa stared at me.

I began to get concerned at the amount of time that had passed before Elisa closed her eyes.

"Please remember." She whispered.

Then, she turned into a gray and fluffy cat.

I,

I.....
