Chapter 14: Betrayal on Daichi

The king decided it would be best to send all of the warrior girls with me to Daichi since they knew me the best and they defeated Kagaku and his minions in the past. We all gathered in the castle's spectacular courtyard. Once everyone was there, Kusumura explained the situation.

"All of you will be sent with Hana and Chiri to Daichi," he said, indicating the shy girl. "Chiri says that her planet is on the verge of being taken over by a malevolent force. We have decided to help her and her people as we know how terrible that is. Hana will be using the Warp Seed to get everyone there at once. Are you all up to the task?"

All of the girls nodded. They were ready to save Daichi. I could tell they were all reliving those terrible moments when Kagaku corrupted their king and had them turned into seeds.

"Very good. I wish you all the best of luck. Return safely."

Once Kusumura left, I had everyone form a circle by holding hands. My plan was to throw the Seed up, quickly grab the closest person's hand, and call out Daichi. Hopefully, since everyone will be linked to me, we will all warp to Daichi. That was the plan anyway.

"We don't know much about our enemy, but we do know that they are killing Chiri's people and her planet as a whole. We do know that we can help. Is everybody ready?" I asked, looking to everyone.

As I looked at each girl, they nodded, ready to go help. I threw the Seed up and quickly grabbed the closest person's hand.

"Daichi!"

Soon, a warm yellow light enveloped us. I closed my eyes and waited for the light to dim. Once it did, I was hit with an intense wave of heat. I opened my eyes and discovered that we were in a scorching desert. In the distance, I could see volcanoes erupting, causing the ground below us to shake.

"Is everybody here?" I asked, looking around.

"Where's Chiri?" Yuri asked, concerned.

I looked around frantically, trying to find the missing girl. It was like she disappeared into the sand.

"CHIRI! WHERE ARE YOU?!" I shouted, hoping she would answer.

"I-I'm here. I-I'm sorry, but I have no choice."

I looked behind me to see Chiri. Surrounding her was a group of tough-looking men. They may have looked tough, but they also looked like they were starving.

"Chiri, what are you talking about? Are these guys going to help us fight?"

"N-no. I-I'm so sorry. B-bye, Hana," Chiri apologized as she threw up the Warp Seed.

I checked my pockets. They were empty.

"How did you get that, Chiri? Don't leave! Where are you going?" I asked in total shock.

Her response chilled me. One moment she said "Shizin" and the next moment, she was gone.
