Chapter 21: Kazan, the Planet of... Water?!

The girls and I got into a linked circle like we have done so many times before. I threw up the Warp Seed and said "Kazan." Instantly, we were enveloped in a bright, but familiar light. When the light faded away, I realized that I was floating in water. What the heck? I thought Kazan was a place of fire and volcanoes, not an ocean. I looked around, making sure everyone made it.

"Is everyone ok?" I asked.

"I hate water! Can we find some land already or are we going to float here all day?" Mari grumbled.

We looked around, trying to find some sign of land. However, there wasn't any. There was water as far as we could see.

"That's just perfect!" Mari shouted angrily.

"It could be worse," Yuri replied. "We could be drowning or dying in some way, but we're not. We're safe for the time being. Why don't we figure out what happened to this planet?"

"I agree. I find it strange that Kasai talked about volcanoes and lava flows, but the whole planet is covered in water. Do you think it's the work of the strange beings he mentioned?" I asked, hoping for a good answer.

The others nodded quietly. They didn't have any more of a clue than I did. This might take a while.

"How are we supposed to find these jerks if they're underwater?! There's no way in **** (Underworld) that I'm diving down to the floor. Nobody can hold their breath that long!" Mari shouted, still angry.

"Maybe we can get them to come to us!" Akino offered cheerfully. "Ooh! I just thought of something! Water conducts electricity! I can just zap them all so we don't have to worry about anything in the first place! I'm so smart!"

"Smart my *** (butt)! You'll zap us too!"

"Besides, we have to find out why they came here in the first place. We might be about to learn about the disturbance that way," Yuri added. "I'm not sure, but I might be able to help you all breathe underwater. After all, water is my specialty."

"Good idea. Can you give it a try? You may be our only hope," I said.

Yuri proceeded to create a bubble. Then, she placed it on her head and dove underwater. Seconds later, she resurfaced.

"It works, but I'm not sure how long it'll last. Bubbles are extremely fragile things. Plus, the more you breathe, the smaller it gets. Besides, I don't know what will happen if I get knocked out somehow. For all I know, everyone's bubbles would pop," Yuri explained, expressing her concern.

"You don't have to go through all that trouble! I can help!" a cheery voice said.

We all turned to see a girl floating beside us. She had long blonde hair and deep blue eyes.

"I'm Nami! Nice to meet you!"
