Chapter Two

" What do you mean " there's a war coming," I say my voice shaky.

" The world as you now know is coming to an end, the Vampires such as I are making a plan to become the rulers of this godforsaken world, " royalty" as humans would put it," He said with a devilish smile. " Now, Cami, would you please break your magic,"

Without a word, a young girl, younger than me comes somewhere out of the darknesses and walks towards me and touches my restraints, after a minute she walks away to stand by Bastian.

" It is done, I lifted my magic," The girl said in a small voice.

" You can now break out of the chains, if you so choose too that is," Bastian said with a smile.

" I'm human, I won't be able to, you know that,"

" Ahh, there you go again about saying you are human my dear boy, you are not,"

I glare at him with hatred that has now boiled up from the pit of my stomach. Bastian brushed off my glare and turned to leave with the girl close behind.

" Just remember, you can get out of those chains if you truly desired to," He said before he left.

I sat there for a minute before I tried breaking my restraints but failed. I began looking around to try to find something to help break them. I find nothing, the big room is empty besides me in it. I curse under my breath and tug at them once again.

After a long hour later Bastian the vampire came back.

" You haven't left? I'm surprised," He said.

" Like I've been telling you, I'm human I can't break free," I replied clearly irritated.

" Cami," Bastian said, his one-word summoned her as quick as lightning. She waved her hand at me and my restraints fell to the floor with a loud clank. It echoed throughout the whole empty mansion. I rub my red wrists and just stare at the both of them.

" Now, won't you join me for dinner, my dear boy," He spoke as he spun around to walk away expecting me to follow.

" I don't have much of a choice do I?" I mumble.

" No, you don't, now you better keep up,"

I forgot they had super hearing to the point where they can hear the heartbeats of their pray. I follow close behind them having a dreading feeling like I'm being watched and I probably am. We walk down a long hallway filled it old pictures of people I've never seen but they seemed important once upon a time. Abruptly he turned left at a door which led to the dining hall. An enormous chandelier hanging above a great table that can seat up to twenty people at least. The table was covered in a feast, more then I or Bastian could ever eat.

" Have a seat," He waved to the table. I slowly walked to the chair closest to me and sat down hesitantly. Bastian sat across from me. On purpose most definitely.

After a couple of minutes of silence, the only sound was my breathing which drove me crazy as I stared at my empty plate. I grab my fork tightly getting enraged from the bottom of my stomach once again. Out of nowhere, I yelled, looking at him in the eyes as long as I dared too.

" So, let me get this straight, you kidnap me, treat me like a prisoner and then feed me, why?!"

He sets down his glass of red wine with a sigh and looks into my dark brown eyes sending a shiver down my spine.

" Ethan, dear boy, this is me apologizing about how you've been treated. And the reason why my vampires took you was that you had nothing left for you at your home,"

I stand up my chair crashing to the floor behind me.

" Nothing left?! NOTHING LEFT!? I HAVE NOTHING LEFT BECAUSE OF YOU!"

Bastian stares right back at me cool and collected the complete opposite of me.

" Ethan, I am sorry about what happened to your family but they made enemies of me and many others, so please sit, drink, eat, you'll feel better,"

I felt compelled to sit, I couldn't speak or do anything of my free will. I didn't want to sit, anything but, I was mad. I was mad at HIM. But here I am in front of a vampire not able to do anything besides listen.

I pick up my glass and drink the red liquid. It tasted of...iron. My eyes widened at the realization of what I just consumed.

" Ahh, so you finally realized what you drank, my blood," The vampire said with a devilish grin on his face his white pointed teeth distinguished.

" Now, " He said as he stood up and slowly walked to where I am rooted in my seat not being able to move my glass still to my lips.

" Welcome to vampirism," Bastian spoke before he broke my neck and everything goes black. The glass falls to the floor as I did with it.

Five minutes later I awake with a gasp my eyes wide my clothes covered in blood. I look around to find Bastian sitting where he was like nothing happened. I stand up and make eye contact with the vampire.

" YOU KILLED ME!"

" Yes, yes I did, how did you think I was going to train you? You were weak the state you were in before, now you are not, I did you a favor," He said taking another sip from his glass.

" What is this feeling," I mumble to myself. Everything feels so different, I feel so cold, I can hear everything.

" What you are currently feeling right now is the transition to becoming like me, you drank my blood and died and you came back, but you're not quite a vampire yet dear boy, you need to drink human blood to be fully turned, and well if you don't...you die for real,"
