Debated

"Dude, be quiet!" Skyler hissed. He snuck around the thick thorn bush, making it crack with twigs. The cold night air made their breath show the tension. "Why are we here anyway!" Enoch whispered. Skyler shushed him and stopped walking.

They were walking aimlessly around a forest Skyler thought to be haunted. Enoch was dragged along everytime Skyler discovered something told to be haunted or abandoned. It was probably almost midnight, but Skyler was insistent there was something to find.

"Wait, do you hear that," he whispered. Both of them listened. A sudden snap came from the left of them. Enoch aimed his flashlight in the direction only to find a squirrel nibbling on an acorn.

Skyler sighed and shook his head, disappointed and defeated. "Ok, we've been here for a few hours, let's just go," he said. Enoch agreed, though, he was silently grateful that Skyler finally gave in.

When Enoch pulled up to their house, Skyler was already studying the video footage.

"You're not going to get much without hooking it up to the computer," Enoch laughed. Skyler looked at him and put the equipment in his black duffle bag.

"Yeah, you're right," he agreed. They walked into the house and began connecting the cameras and recordings to the computer.

They sat in silence, listening and watching. A few balls of light sped across the camera and some inaudible sounds, but nothing newsworthy.

Skyler posted the footage on social media like the usual and began getting ready for bed. Since one of the bedrooms was the office, Enoch and Skyler slept in the same room on bunk beds.

Skyler shut off the lights and climbed into the top bunk, Enoch already laying in the bottom bunk.

Skyler let his mind wander. He thought about how he wanted to spend his future. Usually, he would think about this, to take a break from all the ghost hunting and conspiracy theories.

Maybe I want a family. He thought. With a kid or two. And someone to share it with. Skyler furrowed his eyebrows in the dark.

With a wife… Or a husband?

Skyler questioned the thought of having a husband.

Is it odd? Unordinary? ...bad? Skyler had been taught different things in his life. To be frank, he wasn't sure if being gay or bi was a good thing or a bad thing. The topic had been debated on many times and still is.

Didn't God want equality among men? But the bible also states man should not sleep with man. Skyler had his own opinions on that line. People misinterpret that line. What it loosely translates to is 'man should not have sex with another man'. But what I think it means is 'man should not have sex with a child'. Since the bible uses the word 'man' as a way to describe the human race, this would make sense.

Skyler smiled at his conclusion. But one thing still remained double-sided in his mind. He turned his head to the right, facing the wall.

  "Hey, Enoch?" He asked quietly.

"Yes?" Enoch said with a sigh. Skyler hesitated.

"Is it bad to like men if I am a man?" He said. Enoch didn't answer for a full minute.

  "No," he finally said.

Skyler thought he had enough evidence to conclude that liking men isn't bad. And with that, he drifted to sleep
