Chapter 1

Emerald P.O.V

"Damn it" I said, sweat dripping from my forehead from training for almost six hours. "You should join me for breakfast Em" Caleb, my best friend said coming towards me through the training gate. "Not now Cal, I am not hungry" I replied while dodging my opponent who was very skilled but I am better. "Come on Em, you have been training for a while" he said almost whining. I flipped my opponent on his back. He began groaning from the impact. "Okay that's it for today Ben" I said giving him hand to stand up. He took my hand and stood up dusting himself. "You have been improving great" I praised him, when he asked me to train him he was so off bit but now he is good. He smiled and bowed down to me. "That's all because of your training Princess, you have been working hard" he said in appreciation. I nodded giving him small smile.

Caleb groaned beside me, "Let's go, I am hungry, even if you are not," He said almost dragging me. I let him drag me. He is such a drama queen some times.

"Okay Cal I am coming but I have to shower first" I said taking my hand from his and changing the direction towards my room. "Only five minutes" he yelled making his way to the dining hall. I rolled my eyes, him and his hunger. I passed several guards on my way. They all bowed down to me, I gave them smile in return. I opened the door to my chamber. It has purple walls and king size bed in the middle. There are paintings on the walls. Some are of my adventures to the different kingdoms, others are our family portraits.

I made my way directly towards bathroom to take quick shower. I finished getting ready in exactly five minutes when I heard a knock on my door. I pushed the door open to find my twin brother standing there with a scowl on his face. "Who pissed you off this morning?" I said while walking past him to go to the dining hall. He followed me like I expected.

"Sarah is coming over" he groaned.

I stifled a laugh. Sarah is my mother's friend daughter. Whenever she comes, she always throws herself at my brother, Ryan. She disgusts him. I always try to help him that's why that girl hate me too much. But I don't care whatever she thinks. "Bear with her then" I said as I enter in dining hall. Everybody was already present there. I made my way to my seat beside my father who is sitting at the head of the table.

King Steven, most powerful king in the entire dimension, always help others and I am proud of him.

"Good morning Father" I greeted him. He smiled and stood up from his seat "Morning Princess" He said while kissing my forehead. I am totally a daddy's girl. He sat in his seat again. I greeted mother as well. She gave me sweet smile back. I love my mother to death. She is so caring and a patient person. Well whoever can handle my father has to be patient right. Ryan also took his seat while muttering nonsense. "Finally" Cal sighed, he was sitting beside my mother giving me stinky eyes. I scowled at him, always an impatient person. "We can start now" Father announced looking around the table when he saw everyone was present for the meal.

Everybody started filling their plates. I filled my plate with chopped fruits, pie, some veggies and a glass of juice. I started eating and I could hear sound of cutlery being used. "How was the training Princess?" Father whispered tilting his head towards me. I looked at my mother, she was busy eating her food and having conversation with Caleb. "It was good" I replied back smiling in his direction. I know he is itching to ask me something but he is afraid of mother. My mother one and only rule on the dinner table is no one talk about work here. "Good" he nodded taking a bite of his food. "I need to talk to you about something" Father started saying when my beloved mother interrupted him.

"No work talk on the food table" Mother scolded father while frowning at him. I turned my head down to hide my smile and started eating my food slowly. "Alright Love" Father said sheepishly knowing that he can't win the argument with Mother. He loves her so much. I want that type of love. He signaled me with his eyes that we will talk later. I nodded and finished my food.

After breakfast, I made my way towards Father's office. I entered without knocking because he knows only I am the one who has the habit of entering without permission. "Ah Princess, sit, we have something important to talk" he said while gesturing to the seat in front of him. He was sitting behind his work table. Papers scattered on the table and he was reading some papers. I sit there and waited for him to start.

"We have information regarding William" he said folding his hands on top of table and watching me carefully. My jaw dropped open in shock. It's been a month since he was disappeared during one of his task to the Norel Kingdom. I have been anxiously waiting for the information to tell me that he is safe. He is one of my best friend. We did everything together-studying, all the training, we practically grew up together. I, Caleb and William are like a group.

"What is it Father, is he okay?" I fired questions at him. I was so worried about him. He put his hand in front of him in a stop sign.

"Calm down Princess" he said.

"He is being captured by Midnight" he said further with blank look on his face. I stare at him wide eyed. Not only he is captured but by our worst enemy Midnight Kingdom. I have to save him. "We should make plans to save him" I said eagerly, I don't want to waste any second now. "Not we princess, I am the King here, I will figure it out" Father said impassively.

How can he say that? William is my best friend. I should be in this plan as well.

I stood up from my seat. "Father, I have to help" I said with finality. Father eyes turn into glare. "I said no, you are not taking any part in it" He said still looking me with harden expression. "I only told you this bit of information so that you don't have to worry about him anymore" he continued standing up from his seat and coming towards me. He put his hand on my shoulder in comforting manner. "I know you are worried, but I promise you, he will come back to you" he said, his voice changing into affectionate. I just stood there my head hanging low. Whenever Midnight name comes, he always does that, not involving me. This time I am not listening to anyone. I will save my friend one way or another. "Okay Father" I told him in small voice, hiding the fact the I am not going to listen to him this time.

I started making my way to the door when Father speak again "Don't do anything reckless Emerald".

I turn around and stare at him. "Of course Father" I replied to him looking away from his eyes. He came forward, kissed my forehead. "Everything will be fine" he said hugging me, I returned the hug. Everything will be okay soon.

Now I need a plan!

How I will enter in that Kingdom? I heard that there security is high. But nothing is impossible for me. I entered my room to get ready because I am going right now. I just have to make a believable excuse to my father. "Hey, Em that Sarah girl is here, you should have seen your brother's face" Caleb entered without knocking and just made his way to my bed. I rolled my eyes at that. He never knock on my door. "You should knock on the door before entering" I told him while arranging my wardrobe. He just flare his arms in non sense manner and lay down on my bed.

"What are you doing?" he asked watching me curiously. Now I am just taking out my fighting clothes which consists my black leather pant, underneath white shirt, black jacket, brown knee length boots and my mask which shows only my bright green eyes. "I am getting ready to save William" I said ignoring his shocked expression. I know he won't rat me out. He is my best friend for a reason. We understand each other pretty well. "You do know that he is in Midnight right?" he said while sitting on the bed. How does he know things before me is still a mystery to me. I just nodded my head and made my way to my weapons. "Then why are you.." he started speaking. "I am going and that's final" I cut him off, no one can stop me.

He sighs loudly. "As I was saying before you cut me off so rudely rather I might add" he said exaggerating. I just roll my eyes. He is too dramatic. "Where I was, Yeah, you should go before King Steve find out" he finished while lying again on the bed. I looked at him. He is not stopping me. "Yeah yeah, I am not stopping you, even if I tried, you will just ignore me then why bother" he said closing his eyes. I rolled my eyes and went to the bathroom to get ready. When I heard his voice again "Don't roll your eyes too much otherwise they will stuck like that" followed by his laugh. Idiot.

When I came out of the bathroom, I saw Caleb was sleeping on my bed. I cover him up with the quilt. Then I dashed out of the room and to the front door of the Castle hiding from the unusual attention. I was just barely two feet away from front door when I heard her shrill annoying voice.

"And where are you going"?

I stand still for a second not believing my luck. From all the people, why does it has to be her? I turned around and looked at her. She is wearing red mini dress which showing her long perfect legs, I gag. "None of your concern Barbie" I said sweetly so that she will leave me alone . She hates me, everybody knows that even my own father knows it. But my mother, she always thinks that Sarah is perfect girl, I should act like her.

Somebody please kill me.

"Well it is my concern, because Aunt Grace said you are taking me to the neighboring Kingdom for shopping" She said and smirked at me. She calls my mother Aunt because of the good friendship between my mother's and her's. She is such a devil, she knows I hate shopping. That's why she does it all the time. I gritted my teeth at this. One day, I will show you your place blonde. I just gestured her to come. She stares at me in disgust, more like my clothing in disgust. "Change your clothes, I am not going anywhere with you looking like that" she said impatiently while eyeing me. I just glare at her. At least I am wearing proper clothing rather than being half naked like her. "Sarah this way all attention will be towards you and no one will look at the Princess" I said fake smiling, at this rate my jaw will start hurting. She is just too delusional. She stares at me thinking for a while like she has any brain. I smirked at that thought. "You are right; I am beautiful everybody should look at me" she said after a while. I internally laugh at her idiotism. May be she can be useful in my plan.

William I am coming.
