Chapter 8

Emerald P.O.V

(Six month later)

"Tell me, where is she?" he growled lifting the girl by her neck. "My liege, I am trying to find her but something is blocking me" she spluttered face becoming pale from the lack of oxygen. He tighten his hold a little and threw her on the ground. Redhead whimpered backing away from him. "Find her quick or else next time there will be no head on your body" he said threatening her and walked away leaving her on the floor shaking in fear.

I gasped sitting up on the bed. This was the fifth time I am having those vivid dream. It looked like its happening in reality. Why the hell is that happening to me? I looked at the clock on the night stand to check the time. It was 4 am right now. I sighed, now I know I can't go back to sleep. Its better that I woke up now. I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower, my muscles relaxed in warm water. I sighed in relief thinking about past months. Its been six months since I am living with Kayla and her family. At first it was little awkward for me, their custom, their life, living here all was new. But I adapt them slowly because for the time being it is my home now.

I started working in a play school to earn some money so that I won't be a burden to this family besides it also took my mind away from other things like how I haven't got my powers back. Nobody from Sabriya tried to contact me. Sometimes I feel helpless living among humans and every time I curse Rose for this because of her I am in this situation.

I quickly dried myself with the towel and changed into comforting black pant and black T shirt.

Yeah, I like all black. Got any problem with that.

I put my feet in my black sports shoes getting ready to face the day. I combed my hair putting them in a high pony tail and went towards the front door to get some fresh air and maybe do some training while I am at it. There was no one in the living room.

Well Em, you are the only idiot who wake up at 4 O clock.

I made my way to the front door turning the knob to open it when I heard foot steps behind me. Already knowing who it was. I opened the door and stood outside breathing in the fresh air. "Where are we going this time?" Kyle said coming beside me and bending down to tie his shoe laces. One more small detail I left that Kyle and me are good friends now. Well at first he was suspicious of me but slowly after spending time together he started to trust me. Now we are good friends. And whenever I woke up early, he accompany me every time. I don't know how he always find out when I am waking up but I am happy with his company. "We are going to the river this time" I said stretching my muscles getting ready for the race. He smirked looking at me.

"Loser will treat with ice cream" he said smugly thinking he might have a chance. "Deal" I smirked showing him my thumb. I bent down a little moving my body forward. Kyle copy my moves.

I sprinted taking right turn while he was behind me. I know he is just teasing me. He can run faster than that but I am not losing. I dodged the tree branches, pushed the bushes aside while running full force. I could hear my heart beating at fast pace. Adrenaline pumping in my body. I pushed my body further to get to the destination. A smile playing on my face. I jumped over a fallen branch breathing heavily. I tried to look behind me to see if Kyle has catch up to me but he was nowhere to be found. I stopped looking around me.

Where is he?

I started running again thinking he might reach there before me which is highly impossible. Even if I am like human right now, my stamina is better than any human because of my training since I was a child. Then I heard some rustling of leaves to my right side. I ignored it because this forest is full of animals but I became alert when I heard muffled voices coming from that direction. I frowned and slowly walked there. That's when I saw three men wearing soldier uniform there attacking Kyle. One of them had Kyle in his hold while he was struggling to get out of it. Others were surrounding them. My eyes widened in shock and without thinking I jumped into the fight kicking the man who was holding Kyle in his grip. He stumbled back from the sudden attack and lost his grip on Kyle.

"Are you okay?" I asked looking at him for any injuries. His hair was disheveled and clothes were dirty other than that he was fine. "Yeah" he nodded and that other two men who were standing alert, swords in their hand. Damn. "Who are you and what do you want?" I asked in hard voice. "We are searching for Sabrian Princess" One of them said coming forward. By now the person I have kicked stood up from the ground throwing dagger at us with his eyes. "This bitch is mine" he said coming towards me. I glared at him. How dare he called me a bitch!

They are searching for me.

Suddenly the man behind me grabbed my arms and pulled them backward making me wince in pain. "Hey, don't touch her" Kyle yelled coming for my aid but other man blocked him punching him in the face. I growled at them. "Let him go" I snapped twisting my body to get out of his grip. "We don't know any Princess, Let us go" Kyle said blood dripping down from his nose. This is all my fault. Who are they? "Oh but you know, as you see this locket, this lead us here" man who was holding me speak showing the locket in his hand. I froze in my spot, they used witch power to track me down. This is bad. "Who are you?" I asked again voice shaking a little. If I am thinking correct then I am in lot of trouble right now. He twisted my hand putting pressure. I growled in pain. "This doesn't concern you filth, tell us where is the Princess or maybe we will leave you after having some fun with you" he smirked tracing his filthy finger on my face. I gritted my teeth in disgust.

"I already told you we don't know anything" Kyle yelled again trying to get out of their grip.

"Roman, maybe they are not the right person, This locket can be hoax, maybe the witch was just wasting our time" One of them said who looked sensible to me. "She won't trick King, he will have her head in second" The one who was holding Kyle said uneasy. "Well, if this a hoax then we can have fun here" he murmured in my ear rubbing my arm with one hand while holding me in his grip with other. Rage filling my body when he touched me inappropriately. I bend my leg forcing my body to move and with back flip, I kicked him getting out from his grip landing on my knees. I quickly went towards Kyle moving him aside and punching the person behind him full force. Remaining one came towards us sword raising in the air. I ran towards him sliding on my knees tripping him. He made 'oomph' sound falling face first on the ground. I kicked him for extra measure. Kyle was standing there shocked looking at the scene.

"Kyle lets go" I said hurrying towards him, taking his hand in mine. He quickly snatched his hand away from mine. "Who are you?" he said bitterly. I frowned when he talked to me in that tone. "What are you talking about, I am Emerald" I asked confused, feeling hurt. "No, you just fight against those men without any problem" he said looking at those men. They were groaning in pain. My fighting skills are good when I am angry. "You are the Princess, aren't you!" he demanded like he realized something. I was looking at the ground, my body tensing at his word. "We will talk about it later, let just get out from here first" I said wanting to get away from here because they are going to stand up after sometime and I don't have any energy to fight back to them. He shook his head "I need answer right now, you have been deceiving us" he said anger evident in his voice.

"I will answer your every question but please lets go" I said hoping he won't deny this time. He shagged his shoulder and walked past me without any other word. We walked back to house without any interaction between us. I was worried about those men. If they are Midnight soldiers then it means he knew that I am here. I am endangering this family as well. I have to get out of here. Kyle slammed the front door entering in the house. I followed him to the living room. He turned around and glared at me.

"Explain" he said voice cold as ice. I sighed knowing I have to tell him everything.
