Hold on! I'm so sorry! I accidentally left one chapter out and I forgot to upload it! (I don't what happened to me) However, I already put it in the right sequence. Again, I'm sorry! It's one chapter before this, "The Offer."

-Kai's Kitchen-

Val stands in front of Ethan with doubts and confusion in her brown eyes. There's an invisible line between them. He is now trying to cross it by taking a step closer to her. His hand gently brushes through her blond iron-curled hair and whispers, "You don't have to answer it now... You can do it tomorrow,"

Val stands stiffly there from getting flustered over his sudden gesture. Her body feels like it's frozen into an ice cube and she struggles to catch a breath.

"Well... sure..." she answers while looking away and smiling awkwardly.

Ethan, who notices that he's probably making her uncomfortable and nervous, takes a step back and says, "Well... good night..."

He stares into her eyes from a bit far and finally turns his body away from her. He takes steps away and Val is still standing there, trying to catch some breath.

"Dude, what was that! Whooh!" she mumbles to herself while still being out of breath.

Kai--who watched the whole thing-- just leans on the wall and sighs. There's a disappointment in his eyes and uneasiness on his breath.

-The next morning, hallway-

Rei, Joanne's friend from the science club, suddenly walks beside her and greets cheerfully, "Mornin'!"

Joanne calmly greets him back, "Hey... So, you coming to homecoming?"

"Nah, I don't really like those stuff," he shrugs it off.

"Really, dude? Cool..." she answers with a bit of surprise in her tone.

He says, "Well, I'd rather play video games in my room than asking some stranger to dance the night away with me. I'll catch up with you later, Jo!" and leaves her to his classroom.

She stops her step for a second and sighs with worries within it. "How am I going to find the courage to ask him?" she complains quietly to herself.

-After school, the court-

Beca delightfully enters the court while humming to herself. Her eyes finally spot a figure that she has been thinking about all day. It's Nicholas just casually picking the scattered balls from the ground.

She swoops in wearing her cheer uniform and brunette hair in a high ponytail. She stands closer to him and says cutely, "So, whatcha doin'?"

Nicholas, surprised, takes a look at her and says, "Hey, you're here..." while patting on her head softly.

They look at each others' eyes for a moment and smile widely from the happiness from being able to see each other after a long day and practice.

"Hey, you know how to shoot?" he asks her while smirking.

Beca scoffs playfully and answers, "Oh, I am pretty athletic you know..."

She snatches the ball from his hands and shoots it down through the ring flawlessly.

She looks at him with a proud and flirtatious smile and says, "See?"

Then they start to playfully run around the court while smiling brightly at each other.

Suddenly, Beca trips herself and accidentally falls over Nicholas. Beca is now on top of him, who's on the floor, and is now only inches from touching each others' lips. The tension is making her wants to go further than where she is now. They are so close that they can feel each others' breaths. Nicholas looks at her eyes for a second and changes his view to her lips.

His hand on her waist is pulling her closer gently. As they become closer, they can feel their hearts beating like crazy. Before their lips finally touch, someone's loud voice stops them.

-Before that-

Stacy, the cheer captain who's intentionally not wearing the cheer uniform, secretly follows Beca to prove that she is right about her.

She tries hard, maybe a little bit over, to hide by ridiculously blending with other students, plants, and even lockers.

Luckily for her, Beca doesn't seem to notice just for a bit. Beca just walks excitedly through the hallway and into the basketball court.

"Now look at that! She's going to the court to meet that jerk!" she mumbles to herself.

She takes a peek on them from outside the door. She tucks her head in while goggling her eyes out to watch them in secret.

Without she realizes it, someone is joining her there. Noticing that something is present above her head, she turns her face to see it only to know that it's Caleb. Panicked and shocked, she hit him with her head. "Ack!" he screams and is suddenly covered by Stacy in his mouth from almost getting them caught.

Stacy's hand is now on Caleb's lips and they are standing so close to each other to hide from Beca and Nicholas, who probably cannot see them anyway.

"Quiet down!" she whispers loudly to him.

"You were snooping on my twin sister!" he whispers while still covered by Stacy's hand.

Stacy lets him go and stutters, "I-I wasn't... snooping on her! I was just... checking... up on her..." while looking away with shameless guilt in her face.

Caleb's face turns innocent and he asks in a gentle tone, "Really?" from buying what she said for a second and starts to get back to his sense again by saying, "Oh, come on! I'm not dumb!"

Stacy rolls her eyes and says rushingly, "We are not letting this happening! They have to break up!"

Caleb sighs exaggeratingly and rebuts, "Oh, let it go, already! You can't get in a way between true love!"

Stacy scoffs and responds, "Oh, please! They've only met like, once or twice! True love my ass! Well, even if it was, then they can kiss true love's ass goodbye!"

Caleb rolls his eyes and snaps, "Urgh, do you have to go down there?"

She stares at him for a second and firmly says, "Yes."

She leaves him there and gets inside the court to find that Beca and Nicholas are on top of each other, lying on the ground, with their lips about to touch.

Panicked, she runs her way inside and screams with worries in her voice, "BECA!!!"

Beca and Nicholas instantly look at the source of the sound.

Seeing that Stacy, the cheer captain is there with eyes about to fall off, and Caleb there, they sigh at the same time. At that moment, they know that screwed up.

Beca and Nicholas are sitting, inches away from each other, on the bench inside the court and Stacy is walking back and forth in front of them with rage and disappointment in her face.

"There's only one rule, guys. One rule!" she loses it.

Beca and Nicholas are just looking down, realizing that they are doomed.

Stacy breathes in to try to calm herself down and says, "You have to break up," while smiling creepily to them.

"What? We can't do that!"

"Please don't do this, Stacy!"

Both of them beg desperately at the same time in the situation that they call unfair.

"Well, you're out then," Stacy says elegantly while smiling and crossing her hands in front of her chest.

Sorrow and fear are filling Beca's and Nicholas' eyes as they realize that people curse them for being together.

"You gotta choose one," Stacy says while still smiling to them.

Beca looks at him who also runs out of words. His sparkly blue eyes, curly brown hair, soft and warm touch are making it hard for Beca to walk away.

Knowing that even by looking at him for a lifetime, she still is not capable of having him. So, she looks away with agony in her eyes.

She stands up and moves with heavy steps. She stops for a second and decides to walk away from him. From their feelings. She walks through the door and she finds Caleb there.

Caleb is speechless from feeling guilty that he didn't tell her about his meeting with Stacy.

Beca looks into his eyes while shaking her head heavily. Her eyes are filled with pain of betrayal and disappointment now.

"You knew, didn't you?" she says emotionally to him.

Caleb tries to reach her hand but she pushes him away.

"Just... leave me alone!" she screams while walking away from her twin brother.

-Hallway-

"So, have you made up your mind?" Ethan gently asks after suddenly appearing beside Val's locker.

Val jumps from getting shocked and is now holding her chest and thanking it for not having a heart attack.

"Gosh, Ethan. You could've knocked," she says sarcastically.

"What is it?" Kai asks her while giggling after seeing her hilarious jump.

"He suddenly appeared! I thought it was..." she stops saying from getting creeped out.

"Ghost?" Kai ends her sentence to tease her.

"Shh! I don't want them to hear!" she whispers loudly while getting antsy.

Kai just laughs seeing her getting on her feet after facing a little surprise from his brother.

Ethan who feels like Val forgets that he is also there says, "Erm, about last night..."

Val who finally realizes gasp and says, "Oh yeah...-"

Kai tries to read the room and cuts her, "Well, I'll go first then..." but Val grabs his hand.

"No, this's won't be long," Val says nonchalantly to Kai.

"Okay, look Ethan... I think you should go with someone way cooler than me... a senior maybe... Well, I'll see you around!" Val casually talks with a bit of a smile on her face.

She turns away before Ethan could say anything. She grabs Kai and they leave him standing alone against the locker.

"I told you, it won't be long," Val warmly says to Kai.

Kai just smiles and grabs her shoulders, "I know..."

He stares at her for a moment and looks away after realizing that people might look.
