Danielle knows for a fact that her life as she knew it is over. Nothing will ever be the same for her. Hope, life, and a lot of other things she used to think were significant no longer are. The sadness and loss she feels overwhelm her. At the moment, Danielle sees no value in living. She has recounted this story of her life many times before. Her mother had a similar experience. Both of her grandmothers' mothers were alive and well. It's like passing on a plague of misery from one generation to the next.

But it's okay, she told herself, since he'll be back. The ability to ignore, however, has its limits. All around her is suffering and conflict, and she is helpless to stop it. Danielle, my darling One morning, you'd get up and find out your man is dead. It's likely that he was swept up in the chaos. Wars and this skewed perception have caused this. I've mentioned it before, but these things are enough to make a mature man cry and take his own life.
