15: System Activate

Sage turned towards the nearest company building which was forty stories tall. He used his skill to search the surrounding area for the bunker.

"Sensor!"

[*ping*]

[*Sensor is activated*]

He searched the vicinity for a while until he finally spotted civilians.

"Ah! I see some people in the building and some underground, I bet Mark is one of them, let me message him to verify."

Sage : ( Mark where are you?)

Mark : ( I moved to the tallest part of the building at the Helipad for helicopters. )

Mark : ( There are several of us here, I thought it would be easier for the rescue team coming to spot us. )

Sage : ( Alright I'll come up there do not move from your position. )

Mark : ( Ok! )

Sage took a step forward attempting to teleport, but he suddenly stopped to rethink his decision.

"It's weird if I just teleport, and appear out of nowhere in front of everyone, I think I should teleport to the thirty-fifth floor. I don't see anyone there."

"Teleport!"

[*ping*]

[*Teleportation is activated*]

And that he did, he teleported to the thirty-fifth floor and walked the rest of the way up.

"You humans do have a way of making things easy for you. Your buildings are huge and are made out of materials I never knew could be used in this manner."

Logia pointed out to Sage.

"Oh yeah? what do you have in your realm Logia?"

"Well, in my realm we do have things like glass and pavement, but the beings there only use it for there leaders and some roads."

"You mean like our medieval times here on earth!?"

"Yeah, something like that."

Logia and Sge kept chatting until they reached the top, by the time they did it was already 5:30 pm.

(*step*)

Sage walked to the entrance and slowly opened the door, the first person that was in his sight was Mark so he rushed forward to meet him.

"Sage! is that really you!? ahh thank goodness you're safe, where is your mom!?"

Sage paused with his greeting and took a few steps back.

"Wait, so you didn't pick up my mother from the hospital!?"

Mark's expression became puzzled.

"But, I saw you with my own eyes when you picked her up, no wait this person looked older and weak like you no offence."

"That wasn't me! wait a minute you said they had the same appearance as me?"

"Yes."

"Then it must have been him."

"What did you as say, Sage?"

"Oh it's nothing, I'm just talking to myself."

Sage had an idea of who the culprit was, although he wasn't too sure. So he decided to move away from the topic.

"Anyway Mark, who are they?"

"Oh them!? they are some people I met in the bunker, they wanted to come up here to see if they could catch a glimpse of the rescue team when they arrive."

Sage had his doubts about the rescue team that everyone was going on about. He was sure that there wasn't going to be one in the vicinity. So he insisted that Mark should come with him. But Mark declined.

"Mark you need to come with me now, this place is not safe, well nowhere is safe at the moment."

"I can't Sage! what about the others? how are they going to survive by themselves?"

"Look, now is not the time to play hero Mark, we have to go! I don't believe that this so-called rescue team that everyone is going on about will come!"

"But you don't know that!"

A quarrel broke out between Sage and Mark and this caught the attention of the rest of the group. An arrogant person suddenly stood up to defend Mark.

"Hey, you there, why are you causing trouble for our leader huh!? can't you see we need him to protect us!?"

Before he knew it other people started complaining. But that matter was not the worst of it.

The earth began to shake, at that moment everyone received a notification on their phones.

"What is going on? is it an earthquake?"

[*ping*]

"Everyone check your phones did you all receive a message?"

Everyone, including the ones underground, checked their phones, it was a message from the government about the incoming rescue team in their area.

"See Sage!? I knew they wouldn't forget us."

Everyone was overjoyed about the news, but that joy was soon demolished by the next earthquake.

'Sage! can you hear me!?'

'Logia!?'

'Yeah, it's me we can use telepathy but that doesn't matter right now. Can you feel it?'

'Yeah, it's a dungeon opening in the building.'

'Sage, it's not just the building it's all around the world!'

Portals began to open within and outside the building and monsters came swarming out of them. Everyone began to panic once again.

'Sage, what's the time now?'

Sage glanced at his phone, he realised that it was already 6 pm.

'It's already 6 pm Logia!'

'This is not good Sage you need to get out of there immediately, grab your friend if you have to.'

But it was too late, all forty floors of the building were packed with monsters.

"What is going on Sage!? why are there monsters from video games appearing!? is this real!?

Everyone was screaming and were trying to figure out what was going on, Mark was also panicking. That was when everyone received a blue screen.

[Reward> Your life ]

"Huh!? what is going on here!? Sage can you see this!?"

Mark looked over to the other civilians expecting to see a blue screen, but he couldn't any of them could except Sage.

"No, I don't see a thing Mark, but whatever it is I suggest you pick yes."

"And how do you know that huh!? before you came here everything was perfectly fine, you're the jinx! don't believe him, everyone, just follow me and you'll all be safe!"

Once again the arrogant man blurted out at Sage accusing him of being the cause of all the trouble, and people started to believe that. Eventually, people began to take his side.

'Sage why don't just leave them all and go with your friend!?'

'Trust me I would have a long time ago if I could, but I can't just use teleportation in front of all these people, moreover explaining things to Mark would be a troublesome.'

'Well, you better hurry the monsters will be here soon.'

Logia explained to Sage about what was bout to happen.

"Mark, do you trust me!?"

"Yes, of course, you're my bro!"

"Then click yes."

Mark was a bit hesitant at first be he click yes, and some the others followed suit.

"Well Sage, I've done it what do we do now?"

"Just follow me."

"Ha! you want to follow a bratty teenager over an adult well, suit yourselves die for all I care."

Half of the group went with the arrogant adult, while the other half went with Sage. This was the beginning of the real Doomsday.
