22: Necro

Sage commenced his battle with the walls of regeneration, continuously breaking every one of them without rest and no sense of direction. But all his hard work was in vain. He stopped to think about his situation. He was not the type of person who would usually make a move with only emotions.

"Ok...think, I could create a skill which could help destroy the walls... what if I don't have to destroy them maybe I just have to move them".

Sage pondered about this for a second, but it was not the time to stand and do nothing.

He stretched out his hands towards the wall and recited the chant.

"Earth manoeuvre!!"

[*ping*]

[*You have created a new skill> Earth manoeuvre*]

(*tremble*)

The ground began to tremble underneath Sage's feet. The walls began to split apart, one after the other leading him straight to the central part of the city.

'This is awesome! Logia can you see what's happening!?' Sage uttered in excitement.

'Yeah that's cool Sage, but now is not the time to be amazed we gotta get moving, it looks like the walls aren't going to stay like this for long'.

And so they did, Sage swiftly ran through them as fast as he could. The walls were closing at an alarming rate. It was up to Sage to get through the last door as quickly as he could.

(*swish*)

'I'm almost there! Just two more walls to go'.

With a voice filled with the hope of saving his friend, Sage felt he was ready for anything. That was when.

'I still can't see Mark! Where is he!? wait a minute, who is that is the person on the statue's head?'

Sage's eyes widen he's pupils enlarged as if he saw what he didn't want to witness. And that was.

"Necro!"

Sage's expression change from a worried friend, to that of a wild beast filled with blood lust. He was ready to eliminate anyone that got in his way.

As he manoeuvred through the last wall, he jumped into the air and summoned his crescent-moon sabres. With all his rage that was boiling inside him, he swung his crescent sabres. As if he were slicing through the air Sage created an explosion which completely eradicating all monsters in sight.

(*boom*)

Sage disembarked softly onto the ground. All that was left around he were shattered bones of the undead, in the middle of it all it was his unconscious friend.

Sage in a hurry approached Mark to confirm if he was alive, he was oblivious to his current situation, all he worried about was the health of his companion.

"Mark! Hey! Mark, can you hear me!?, what are you doing? get up!!"

Sage knelt onto the ground, lifting Mark's head. He tried to wake him up, but unfortunately, he did not respond. To Sage, it was the end of the world. His blood was boiling with rage and was ready to go berserk. But that was until He checked his breathing.

"So you're still alive, you idiot". With a voice filled with relief, he expressed his worry. It turned out that Mark was only unconscious form the injuries he received.

Sage stood up and turned to the statue, where Necro stood. With his face engulfed in rage, he launched a conversation.

" Necro!!! so we finally meet, why did you do this, what about all you said was it all just lies!!?" Sage stood in place as he desperately waited for an answer.

With a sarcastic tone, Necro replied. "It is up to you to believe whether it is true or not, and if you want to find out more, you will have to kill me."

The atmosphere became gloom. Sage was ready to face Necro, although, it was also time to train with Drac's legacy. Therefore he saw this as the perfect opportunity.

The fighting began, Sage had previously eradicated the undead, but that wasn't enough to stop them from rising once again.

"Damn it!!, these annoying skeletons just won't die!!"

(*swish*)

(*clang*)

At the moment of Sages distress, a box morphed into his sight.

[*Ping*]

(*Mission >Eliminate Necro the necromancer*)

Instead of going through the hoard of undead, Sage decided to head straight for Necro head, which he had failed to slice off, due to Necro dodging his ferocious attack.

"I'm not that easy to kill Sage. You'll have to try harder than that."

Necro said as he skillfully punched Sage onto the ground, which destructively affected the whole maze. Sage was losing miserably to Necro. He tossed Sage around like a tennis ball using levitation magic.

With only a few minutes to spare, Sage was running out of options. He was determined to save Mark, but what he wanted the most was to eradicate Necro.

"Necro, you're going to regret this!!" screamed Sage as he gathers his energy for a large scale attack.

Drac's power overwhelmed sage's body to the brim, and Sage not being able to control it, released an insane amount of aura into the atmosphere which obliterated the whole city, including Necro and his army of undead. All that was left was Mark's unconscious self and the puffballs golden statue.

[*mission completed*]

(*You have saved your companion*)

[Reward> 100Exp, 40Mp Necro's cloak, Necro's staff, necromance skill]

Sage finally did it but, he wasn't happy. He felt like he didn't win because of his power but, the power of Drac's legacy. He received the reward and ran towards Mark. Soon after Mark woke up, the puffball appeared cutely and innocently.

[Congratulations you insects!! You have cleared the dungeon!!!]

[Now this portal will lead you home!]

(*swirl*)

Sage was not really in the mode to listen to the fluff ball talk. Therefore, he swiftly went into the portal with Mark on his back. They both returned safely apart from all the bruises and cuts they were in one piece.

-Back in Mazen-

A monster core flashed a colour bright red and body part began to reunite, the owner of this body was Necro. A shadow figure morphed behind him, it cloaked in black, so it was not visible. It began to speak.

"Have you told him?" this cloaked figure asked,

"Yes I have, now it's your turn to finish your part of the deal," Necro replied with a serious tone.

"Oh, don't worry, I will." the figure said as it chuckled and disappeared into the shadows.
