Road to Level 10 (1)

Blergh!

Link spat a mouthful of blood, he stood up facing a creature with the upper body of a man, and the legs and head of a bull. It was a creature known as a Minotaur, an Intermediate Level 2 monster.

"How would I know something like this would be the first thing that comes at me. this is not my fault" Link said. He jumped back, dodging the Axe swing from the Minotaur, it had a two headed Axe while it wore armor made of Animal skins.

"I already know that, why isn't this thing as easy to kill as the snake" Link sighed, he really couldn't deal any damage to it, its rubber like skin is harder than steel, while it's smart enough to dodge and perform some Level of Martial Arts.

"Hey mister Bull Man, listen I didn't mean to attack you. That was an accident" Link yelled at the Minotaur.

Wosh!

The Axe landed on the ground, creating a small crater. Grass and dirt flew everywhere.

"Shut up, i don't see you coming up with any good ideas" Link pouted. Even though he was not in any immediate danger, the monster was still coming after him nonstop and fatigue was slowly starting to creep in.

"Oh. That's actually a good idea" Link continued to dodge.

After 6 minutes, Zero informed Link that the skill was ready. As the Axe was coming down on him, Link dodged to the side and twisted his body while sending a kick towards the Minotaur's side.

Bam!

With all the strength he could muster, Link managed to make it shuffle back. In a second, Link activated all the skills that he thought might come in useful during his escape.

'Air Boost' 'Shadow Walk' 'Ambush' 'Blink'

Wosh!

Like an arrow, Link swerved between trees and bushes, running as far from that annoying thing as he could. He ran and ran for a while until he noticed that it was not behind him.

"Did i make it?" He stopped on top of a bolder, looking around.

Back in the Academy. Link did not get questioned too much about his sudden change. Although people noticed his eye color and the slightly different appearance. They did not ask. A Race Evolution would not be the first thing that came to their heads.

His friends did ask though, which he managed to somehow convince them that it was the result of a new technique he started practicing recently.

Link opened his Map Window, seeing the forest trail not too far away from him. He managed to get his hands on a Map from the Mission Hall for a few Points, but sadly it only showed the area without any detailed description. On it Link could see the trail drawn with a light brown color while the forest with a green and the river with a blue line. Link added the Map to the System so he could have easier access to it.

He slowly made his way towards the trail, watching his surroundings. His 'Ambush' skill is still on after all, so creatures were not hiding from him anymore.

As he walked for a bit, Link noticed a cave in the mountain not too far from him. It was wide enough for a bus to easily drive though.

"Nope" Link said as he walked in the other direction. But he did not forget to mark the spot on his Map for when he decides to explore it in the future.

When Link managed to walk into the First Area, he took a deep breath.

"We made it" He muttered.

"Whatever" He walked around, planning on continuing his hunt here. The only reason he ventured that deep was because of his greed for Exp. He wanted to Level Up as fast as possible. The Quest for reaching Level 10 had been with him for as long as he could remember, and that curiosity led him to making the decision.

The Moon lit the night sky. The stars stood watching as Link celebrated.

"YES" He yelled happily.

"Yes, I understand" He said, panting.

Link did not stop hunting since he got back to the First Area, he was determined to Level Up and he did. He wanted to start hunting in the Second Area as soon as possible without fearing creatures like the Minotaur. Link was fully aware that his Exp bar was slowly doubling with each Level, which at some point will become a burden just to Level Up once.

He ran back, entering the Town and running towards his Dorm.

"Link, where have you been at this time? Don't tell me you were outside" Tommy was sitting in the Dorm's Lobby with a book in his hands.

"No no, I was just out to get some fresh air. What about you Professor, what're you doing here?" Link tried to pant as little as he could.

"I'm here to guard the doors" Said Tommy.

"Is it about the curfew? I'm sorry i did not notice the time sir" Link put on an innocent smile. He can't get in trouble or he might be fined and lose a chunk of his Points, and he did not want that to happen. Although the fine was only a small amount, around 50 Points, but to the greedy Link. It was too much.

"Don't worry, you came back just in time, but be more careful." Tommy said, shooing Link away as he got back to his book.

Link walked up the stairs and headed back to his room, he sat down and started Consuming all the Cores he saved up. Which added to 925 Permanent Mana Points and a couple of Beast Souls, but no Skills.

Link started Selling his extra Beast Souls in the Mission Hall this morning, which got him a good amount of Points.

He changed his clothes and laid on his bed.

"Zero, what benefits does this new Race bring me?" Link asked.
