Futile Effort

"What are you going here, bastard?" The teenager sight collided with Li's as soon as he raised his head.

His slightly aggressive features looked more hostile when he made a grim face.

"Me?" Li pointed at himself baffled.

"What are you doing here?" Feiqun emphasized the word 'you' with more force.

What was this crazy guy doing there all of a sudden?

"I study here." Chen Yang stated as a matter of fact. Where would he be rather than staying at his class?

Others peered at the same school uniform and it was obvious that he studied there in the same university.

Li was genuinely confused. He would never fail to recognize that familiar face, moreover in the same class.

"What the hell are you talking about? Old Yang?" Feiqun asked outrageously. He had never encountered him before this time, okay?

"You are the one talking nonsense. How come I didn't see you both?" Chen Yang refused to back down.

The student who only attended the class for two days and bunked school gaped at the student who almost spent most of his time sleeping not bothering to remember other classmates.

Xu Feiqun could understand them not meeting each other but what about him?

How could he not know that this crazy guy was studying in the same school?

Li remembered a particularly clear memory and sighed "The trashy and poor university you were talking about was K university?"

Li could still hear his disdainful voice ringing in his ear saying that he got an admission to a very poor and unpleasant university.

"Yes," Chen Yang said bluntly with no hesitation. "And the remote low-key university you were talking about is the same K university?"

"Yeah," Li said in a quiet voice.

Both of them went silent after confirming with each other.

Xu Feiqun had a sudden urge to face-palm.

He knew that the geniuses had a different worldview separating them from dunce like him but that was too much different!!

It was their distinct opinions but how could someone bring down the nationwide reputable university to such low conclusions.

"You guys are bullying me," Feiqun grumbled aggrieved. He knelt and worshipped God when he knew that he was admitted to the top university in the whole country.

They were too much!

"Let's not waste any more time here"

"You guys can talk later. Let's get out of here first" Qi Cheng broke the deadlocked atmosphere.

"Let's go" Yan Zheming agreed and pulled his dazed friend hurrying outside the classroom.

"What a coincidence, huh?" Li muttered under his breath and followed after Qi Cheng along with Xu Feiqun.

Yan Zheming hushed them and pointed his chin down the stairs. He didn't forget to hold back his noisy friend from opening his mouth.

When others peeked down from the upstairs they were shocked to see the entire floor was full of zombies wandering around aimlessly.

"That place is crawling with those things. How are we even going to get across them?" Xu Feiqun stared across the room, at the end of the hallway where the stairs to go down was located.

"There are too many of them" Qi Cheng didn't like the look of the situation they were stuck at. "And we don't have any weapons"

The weakness and the capabilities of the zombies were unknown. They wouldn't be able to get out of there alive if they jumped down there impulsively.

"Let me go down" Li suggested casually.

"What!?" Chen Yang pried down the hands covering his mouth making an incredulous expression.

"No way" Qi Cheng instantly refused as soon as he heard the absurd idea.

"That's too dangerous" Feiqun agreed with others. Even though he believed that his little boss was omnipotent, he didn't want him to be harmed in any way.

"That's suicidal" Yan Zheming calmly expressed his thoughts and refused to let him go down for the unnecessary martyrdom.

Qi Cheng tensed up and his eye promptly affixed onto the relaxed posture of Li.

Han Zhuoli snorted and didn't look back at his worried friends. He was just suggesting, it's not like he was going to die for them to get out of there safely.

Feiqun suddenly snapped his fingers when he thought about something and got smacked by Li.

"Haven't you guys watched zombie movies?"

"They can't see and they can only rely on their hearing."

Others nodded solemnly and thought that it made sense.

"So what?" Li leaned against the wall and crushed the lollipop on his mouth.

Even if that was the case who would go down there to test the theory.

No one took their life as a joke. They didn't come forward to become the hero. Instead, they quietly stared back at Li.

They couldn't adapt so quickly to the strange situation. They knew that the zombies were dead and no longer alive. Knowing that was one thing but killing them was another matter.

They couldn't just rush down there and kill the zombies who still looked liked their schoolmates.

"Let's get back to the classroom" Li pushed himself and made the move to go back.

Everyone sullenly followed him back. They didn't complain knowing that they couldn't do anything even if they stayed there.

They could only return to the classroom.
