Second Vow: Spilling Tea

"What was I thinking?!" Catherine plopped on her bed burying her face under the pillows while hugging her favorite Akita dog stuff toy. "Am I really going crazy or what?" She faced towards the toy named Mr. Snow.

"Hey Mr. Snow, will I be okay? I mean, what did he actually see in me? Since he is so popular, this will give me unwanted attention." Catherine sighed in defeat. No matter she did anyway, it really wouldn't matter. Grey will still have his way, one way or another. "I'll just try my best to act like I'm not there. Yeah, that's right. It's not like he'll actually look for me. Yeah, Cat. We can do this."

Catherine set the alarm clock and slept with worries under her pillow.

Morning came sooner than she expected. They stayed up late after all. Grace's tragic break up, her first actual encounter with Grey, one of the richest people in the city and cleaning up the apartment because Grace puked on the floor.

Catherine woke up at 5 AM to cook themselves breakfast and water the plants. Since the apartment landlord allowed pets to live with them, they got themselves a German Shepherd – to guard the house and stuff. She fed Peanut then went inside the bathroom.

Since she had first period starting at 8 AM, she might as well take Peanut out for a walk. Catherine did really well in her academics. She is an honor student after all with a scholarship hanging on her like a tightrope. Since the area is getting chilly, Autumn really took its toll on the weather. She wore an oversized pastel pink sweater paired with a vintage jumper and completing her look, cute white sneaker shoes. She ties her hair into space buns and got out along with Peanut.

Before she did, she wrote a note with the aspirin beside it for Grace that she made beef stew for her hangover.

Catherine loved taking Peanut out for walks. It also helps soothe her troubled mind. She spent a good 30 minutes walking her adorable German Shepherd. They went finding Grace with her disastrous hair and puffy eyes. Catherine changed her when the got back and removed her makeup.

"How do you live like that Cathy?"

"Like what Grace?"

"Being a morning a person, seriously, I need some of your goody two-shoes ass." Catherine chuckled. "Yeah, I bet you know you would."

"Wow, this must be a first. Your head isn't in the verge of breaking." Grace giggled. "The break up sobered me good. By the way, this stew is amazing. You need to make more of these."

"Gee thanks, did you delete his number?"

"Are you kidding me Cathy? I deleted his number, blocked him in Twitter, Instagram, Facebook – the whole thing. Damn, looking back he isn't even handsome anyway."

"Yeah, he was 3 out 10 for me." Catherine remark made Grace laughed hard. "A 3? Out of all my boyfriends, Daniel got a 3 from you. Wow, he is that shitty huh?"

"He doesn't respect me, he thinks he can hook up with anyone, his breath stinks, the perfume he uses is too strong, he doesn't even respect women in general. I didn't even know how you lasted a year with him."

"Yeah, his breath does stink but he is a good kisser I'd give him that.

"Don't be so desperate in love Grace, you're beautiful and confident, find a guy who'll actually cherish you, you know?" It was Daniel's loss after all. His fault for not being faithful to a queen like Grace. Catherine wished she could be as confident as Grace. Be as strong and daring.

"Yeah, I won't be dating anytime soon. I'll take a break from this whole love bullshit."

"Hey Cathy... Correct me if I'm not right but, I heard you talking to a guy yesterday. At the park you know?" Catherine froze. 'How did Grace know? Was she half-conscious then? How can I break it to her? Heck, should I even tell her.'

"Ah, yes." She slurred the 's' in yes. "Actually, the guy is, I don't know, someone famous and stuff at the Uni."

"Bitch, say what now?"

"We had a little chat and she said he kind of likes me." She waved her hands side to side. "Not romantically type of like you know, like a friend or something like that..."

"Then who's the guy sheesh, the suspense is killing." The suspense made Grace nervous. She looked so pathetic last night and the one witness was a famous kid from the Uni. Heck, she'll won't drink outside anymore.

"It was... Um, ah, Grey... K-Kingsley, he he." Grace dropped her spoon and stared at Catherine wide-eyed.

"What the actual motherfuck Cathy? You mean, like Matthew Grey Kingsley? Like Kingsley the ever-handsome Grey?" Grace covered her mouth. "I was drunk and bawling my eyes out yesterday and Grey saw it all. The fuck, Grace." She is in shock. She just believes it herself. "I guess there's nothing changing that anyway. Why did he say that he likes you?"

It took a few chaotic minutes of explaining and a lot of regrets on the side but Grace understood. "Damn girl, didn't know you had it in you."

Catherine checked her watch and it was 7:15, she needs to go to school now. Grace didn't have class until 9 so, they don't go together. Occasionally, they do if Grace needs to go the library.

"Spill some more tea when you come back love."
