Sixteenth Vow: First Sign

"Get inside now Rosie." He smiled and waved her goodbye. He gave Catherine a lift and as promised take her back to her apartment before 8:30. She got inside and he left then. Ever since last night, she didn't have the slightest of contact of her phone.

She put it on vibrate when she went with Victor. When she took it out from her white sling bag, she noticed that the messages she exchanged with Grey were gone, along with his number and everything related to him.

"That's strange."

She knew Victor answered her phone but her phone has a password. 'How the hell?' Her heart couldn't stop pounding. She knew how Victor would get jealous when she is with someone else but this is just stepping the line.

She searched for anything missing. She noticed that a series of group chats and direct messages were missing. It was a good thing her social media accounts weren't tampered. She sat at the couch and her chest tightened.

It just couldn't stop beating so fast.

Grace shrieked when she saw her missing best friend. "What the hell Cathy! I was worried when a man answered your phone! Good thing it clicked when I knew it was Victor." She hugged her tightly.

"When you get back? How was it? Oh my god, you did it with him did you?" Grace went from concerned to gossiping really quickly. "No!" Catherine slapped her arm. She faced her seriously and held her shoulders.

Grace felt the suspense. "What's wrong?" The brunette sighed, then gave her phone to Grace. She scanned its contents. "I don't think anything's wrong with your phone." She burrowed her brows in confusion.

"What do you think they have in common?"

"Everything in your contacts are female." Then it clicked. "Oh my god…"

"You said it."

Grace covered her mouth. "You have no other friends?" Catherine slapped her shoulder. "No! He messed with my phone Grace!"

"Fucking shit." Grace gasped. The brunette nodded. "You told me he was protective of you. Maybe he did it for precautionary measures, you know. My ex did the same thing."

She couldn't just shrug it off. "Really? You ex did that? Which one?"

Before Grace answered, she laughed. "You make it sound I date a lot of men but the guy was Chris. He had a few screw losses but he was sweet and caring which is okay but he suddenly went aggressive."

"Wasn't he the one who got arrested for smuggling drugs? Good thing you didn't do the same or else you would still be with him." Catherine joked. Even when she was kidding, she was afraid.
