Layla quietly walked away from the Godslayer, hunter, and demon. She would admit that there wasn't anything particularly special about any of them. She didn't get that strong a sense of power from Miracle, as she did Fabian and Matias. They would probably be fine, in a fight. She thought to herself. Unless Fabian gets a bit reckless. He's definitely the type to do that. She really hoped that Fabian wouldn't end up doing anything like that, but she couldn't be too sure. He was a little bit childish still, as he was trying to make up for his childhood.
She tapped the button on her jacket, as a slightly nervous habit. I wonder if he's doing okay, right now. Must be stressful, having to take such a difficult role in this plan. She sighed, walking back towards her church. She wasn't in the greatest mood, as to what that Scarlet person had said. It made her upset that Fabian was being called that. At least she'd been able to slightly change their minds, that was the smallest positive she got.
She entered the church, sitting down in one of the pews. Layla sat there, tapping on her button, waiting patiently. One of the windows creaked open, as Fabian poked his head in. "Hey, Layla!"
Layla smiled and waved at him. "Hey hey! So, I met the Godslayer today. Her name's Miracle."
"Oh, really?" Fabian dropped to the ground, closing the window behind him. "I met her before, I say Harper as well."
"You did?" Layla asked. "Isn't that nice! You had a little reunion."
Fabian paused for a second, staring out the window. "I guess I did…." He then sighed, turning back to Layla. "Anyways, what am I doing next? There must be a reason."
"Just do whatever, Fabian!" Layla told him with a smile. "You're a great planner, I bet you'll figure something out!"
"You're not exactly giving all too much confidence. The fact that you don't even have a good plan, makes me doubt you a lot." Fabian laughed a little, walking a bit closer to Layla. "But I guess I can try that, though. Matias is getting a little antsy, I can tell."
"Really? Him?" Layla laughed. "He doesn't seem like the type."
"You'd be surprised!" Fabian grinned. "He's pretty assertive, actually! It's just that I tend to make him embarrassed a lot. He's a bit socially-anxious as well. Just when he's more comfortable!" Fabian went quiet. "Or… when he's angry."
Layla frowned. "Okay. Well, I'll tell you that the Godslayer isn't very capable, to be fully honest." Layla shrugged. "Like, I shook her hand, and there was barely any type of magical force coming from her at all! It surprised me, really. She'd be easy to take out."
Fabian came Layla a look. "If she was that weak, why didn't you just take her out when you were literally making physical contact with her?" Layla went silent. Fabian went silent, his levels of judgement rising.
"Okay, my explanation for that is that I'm an idiot." Layla smiled, making Fabian laugh. "See, this is why you're doing the hard part of the plan. It's because I'm bad at thinking on the spot."
Fabian laughed a little. "Fair point. I've always had to think quickly."
"But hey! I was able to slightly convince them that there's some underlying reason as to why you're doing this!" Layla stood up, walking over to Fabian. "So that's a plus!"
"Oh thank God. If they're less angry at me, this'll be much easier." Fabian sighed. "Sorry about the title, I'm just used to saying it."
"Don't be! It's fine!" Layla ruffled Fabian's hair. "Now you can go back up! I don't have much else to tell you!"
Fabian pouted slightly, swatting Layla's hand away from him. "You're just kicking me out? That's so mean of you!"
"Hey, I'm practically your mom, so you listen to what I tell you!" Layla shot back.
Fabian shrugged. "I guess that's true! I'll see you later, Layla!"
"Bye bye, Fabian!" Layla waved back at him, as Fabian flew back out the window. Layla let out a happy sigh, feeling a little more secure. This is going exactly the way we planned it. It won't be too much longer. We'll get to the bottom of this, and make sure the world doesn't go to ruin.
