Third year had ended on a positive but one thing made Elara's mood sour. And it was that she had to go to the orphanage one last time, to get all her things. She was going to stay with the Zabini's. Although she did want to stay with Theodore, his father had denied her best friends request to allow Elara to stay with them. And a bitter Theo suggested that she stay with her close friend Bianca, and he could visit her. But now, she had to get everything she had from a place she never wanted to visit again.
As they got off the train, Theodore sent her a reassuring look. He was coming with her. And she had dressed the part of a rebellious teenager, being 14 now. She had on a black AC/DC shirt with a leather jacket, and she had paired with some ripped jeans and black combat boots with silver spikes.
During this year, Elara had taught herself the Portkey spell and she now took out a little necklace she had from when she was younger, and held it in between her and Theodore. When it started glowing blue, she placed her hand on it and so did he.
They were transported to the orphanage. Theodore looked up at the dismal looking building then to the girl beside him who was trying her best to keep a straight face and not wince at the terrible memories that occurred a mere year ago. She grabbed his hand and he squeezed hers tightly.
Then, Elara walked forward purposefully, her shrunken trunk in her pocket along with her broom. She pushed the door open and headed right for her room. As she got closer, she realized the door was open and stopped.
"What's wrong?"
"Door's open." She stated. "Someone must be here."
She pushed it open further and Mrs. Oldman stood there with another woman. One with brown hair, brown eyes and freckles scattered all over her face. "Ah Elara dear, there you are!"
"Oh save it you bitch." Elara scoffed, and Theodore snickered.
"Mind you language Elara!" The other woman scolded her.
"Who exactly are you?"
"Your mother!"
"Mother? That, well, that's concerning. From what I remember of my childhood, there was no such person present. And then, my father was sent to prison, wasn't he? You would think that any other family I had would step up and take me away from this fucking prison."
"Lara, love, calm down. We're just here for your stuff, then we can head to Bianca's." Theodore whispered.
"You're right."
"And who is this?" Her mother crossed her arms over her chest, raising an eyebrow.
"Theodore Nott." He introduced himself.
"Oh lovely." Her mother smiled. "You'll be escorting Elara to my house then, let's go."
"Uh no?" Theodore furrowed his eyebrows.
"What do you mean no?"
"No. I will not be escorting Lara. She can do whatever she wants." Theodore snapped back.
Elara took her wand out and waved it in a long swish. All her things piled together in the middle of the room. She threw her small trunk on the ground, resized it, and then waved her wand once more to move all the items into it, before shrinking it and putting it back into her pocket.
"You look just like your dad did." Her mother smiled softly.
"You've got no right to say a word about my father. You left me and you never even bothered staying with him to begin with. Shut up about him before I do something you won't like. As far as I'm concerned, you're just a one night stand my father had." She then held the necklace out and both her and Theodore held on to it.
And the last thing her mother saw was Elara giving her the middle finger before they disappeared, leaving her and Mrs. Oldman in a dusty, empty room. A room where Elara had once lived in, but no more.
They reappeared outside of a huge mansion with gorgeous ornate gates. Elara walked past the gates, Theodore following behind her. She walked down the cobblestone path surrounded by emerald green gardens. It lead to a large front door with a chandelier hanging above it.
As soon as Elara knocked on the door, it was swung open and a gorgeous woman stood there. Elara assumed this was Cedrella Zabini. She had long black hair that was currently curled. And she wore a black dress that complimented her dark skin and showed all her curves. Her makeup was immaculate and she was wearing some black and diamond heels.
"Mrs. Zabini. I'm so sorry to be a burden, but Bianca said I could stay here?" Elara looked shuffled her feet. Suddenly she felt a pair of thin arms wrap around her and she tensed, before hugging the woman back.
"Oh, darling, of course you can stay here. Don't you worry. She told me what those caretakers did to you. And Sirius' daughter is always welcome here. But don't you be calling me Mrs. Zabini. Call me Drella."
"Of course, Drella. You knew my father?"
"Of course. Who didn't? But I knew him quite well, despite my being a Slytherin and him being a Gryffindor. Imagine my surprise at finding out you got into Slytherin." Cedrella moved aside and ushered the two teens into the vast hall. "Tea?"
"I would love some." Elara smiled, slipping her leather jacket off and wrapping it around her waist, leaving her in her short sleeved top.
"I would love to, but I'm afraid my father is expecting me back." Theodore gave Cedrella a regretful look. He looked at Elara. "I'll see you at Kings Cross?"
"Of course." She grinned, opening her arms for a hug. She would invite him over, but she just moved here and she needed to get used to the whole thing. And Theodore wouldn't be allowed to come anyways, his father was quite strict.
Theodore hugged her tightly, knowing he wouldn't be seeing her for another 3 months. But at least this time, he knew she was in good hands, and if anything happened, she or Bianca could easily owl him.
Cedrella led. Theodore to a fireplace in the entrance hall and gave him some Floo Powder. He threw it into the fire. "NOTT MANOR!" Then disappeared in a flash of green flames.
"Where's your trunk, my love?"
Elara took it out of her pocket, threw it on the ground and resized it. Cedrella gasped. "How did you use magic out of school?" and in response, Elara simple winked, causing Cedrella to laugh. "Should have expected you to find a way, you are your fathers daughter through and through."
Hearing that sentence made Elara's heart swell with pride. Hearing people say she was like her father made her the happiest she could ever be.
Light footsteps came closer and Elara looked up, brushing her hair from her eyes. Bianca and Blaise walked down the stairs, and when Bianca saw her best friend, she flew down and hugged her tightly. "You made it!"
"I did. Barely."
"What happened?" Cedrella voiced her daughters thoughts.
"How about I tell you over a cup of tea? Hey Blaise." She suggested before greeting the youngest Zabini, who nodded at her with a small smile. She wasn't like the other Slytherins, she actually acknowledged him, unlike his sisters other friends, who cooed and awed at the boy.
Cedrella nodded, and called a house elf to take Elara's stuff to a room, before leading them into the dining room where they all sat around a table, and cups of tea and little cakes appeared in front of them. Cedrella sat at the head of the table with Bianca on one side and Blaise on the other. Elara sat down on the other end of the table, it being a four person table only.
"Now. Tell me what happened El." Bianca nudged her friend gently.
"We got to the orphanage to get my things and I noticed my bedroom door open. So we went in and someone was there with Mrs. Oldman, yes she's the bitch that hurt me, and she said she was my mother." Cue the gasps from the two females, and a raised eyebrow from Blaise. "I yelled at her and she talked to Theo for a bit, asking him to escort me to her house. I essentially told her to fuck off, gave her the middle finger and left."
"'Yes El!" Bianca thumped her best friends back, causing her to spill some tea on her jeans. Elara turned to face Bianca and shot her a deadly glare, causing her to gulp. "Sorry."
"You better be."
Cedrella laughed. "You two are very close."
Bianca grinned. "Oh we're like sisters. But you should see who she's the closest to. Theodore Nott." She said his name in a sing-song tune.
"Oh, not this again." The young Black groaned.
"What? It's obvious that he likes you."
"Bia, come on." Elara gave her friend a look.
"Fine, I'll drop it for now. But don't you think that you've gotten away with it."
