It had been a week in human time since she saw the culprit, the one who was conspiring to overthrow her father. A week of her in the human world. A week laying beside Adam underneath the warmth of the sun and the glow of the moon.
"Adam," she said softly with her head on his chest, "Would He not be angry that you've been here with me?"
"He allows it," the angel said wrapping his arms around her.
Pushing herself off him, she looked and placed both hands on his cheeks and held him.
'He must have been involved!' Her father's voice echoed in her mind and she found herself thinning her lips.
Her father… he couldn't be right.
"What is the matter?" Adam questioned pulling her head down to place his lips against her forehead, "What are you thinking?"
She let out a sigh and pushed herself off him to stare out over the cliffs. It was dark with only the lights from the stars and moon. The sound of activity was minimal from where they were overlooking a couple strolling hand in hand.
"I am glad you are here with me," She said, "I am upset I have not found that mysterious angel."
She heard shuffling of clothes next to her, letting her know that he was sitting up.
"I should return and ask Him," Adam stated and stood up smoothly.
Eve stood as well taking in the moonlight glow of his wings as they spread out to take flight. Smiling, she walked toward him and place their lips together; a kiss she could hold onto until he returned to her.
"Thank you," she whispered breathless as their lips parted and he smiled with a nod.
"I will return with an answer," he stated as he took flight and Eve waved him goodbye. As he ascended further into the sky above, all she could think of was the dread she was feeling. It felt as if something dark was going to befall them all, not just Adam and her this time.
Shaking the thought away, she flew up and flew slowly through the trees, wooden houses below her, pass the hills and valleys. The world is so different now, almost to how it once was before she destroyed most of it.
Sighing, she continued her search for this angel. What did he get out of this and why was he helping Samael?
She felt a demon presence nearby, so she dived closer to see who it was. Stopping to stand on top of the highest branch, she saw the large mouth of the cave. Where did this cave come from? It was not there a day ago when she went searching.
Well, if there a demon in there, she was going to find out who!
Teleporting to the entrance, she rushed in to catch the mysterious angel and the large demon exchanging an item. Reaching out her hand, she made contact with the angel as she slammed him against the rocky wall of the cave. Finally.
She glanced at the demon who was about to teleport, but Eve materialized her sword and tossed it at him. She heard him scream and she smirked, but she could feel a burning against the hand pressed to the angel's neck. She squeezed harder, but the angel pushed Eve back with his fists engulfed in a light glow.
Eve felt her back hit the wall as she recoiled forward with a gasp.
'That actually hurts,' she furrowed her brows wondering how that was possible. She had fought angels and demons, but none were able to cause her harm that she could feel.
Narrowing her eyes at the angel, she let Samael teleported away. She could always find him and kill him, slowly. She needed to focus on this angel who may look small but was strong enough to give her pain. Holding her own blade, Eve rushed forward in the small space and their blades clashed with a clang. She wanted to know how much this angel got in him.
However, before Eve was able to attack again, a bright flash blinded the cavern. Reaching her arm to block her eye, she scowled reaching forward only to feel the wall opposite her. The light faded and Eve's eyes darken with anger as she narrowed her eyes.
The angel escaped with the help of someone else.
The symbol etched into her skin were glowing as she punched the wall causing a large indent.
'I will have a word with Samael then,' she thought angrily before teleporting out of the cavern.

Gabriel was a holy angel of God, one of his most trusted. What this demon, this devil, was telling him must be a fib. Yet, the more he thought about those words, a part of him knew it was true.
Gabriel had always been loyal.
"Gabby! Do you hear me?" The human skinned demon shouted with his arms animated.
"Why would one of my brothers kill a man, let alone demons?" Gabriel stated sternly, "Father would not allow it."
"You think…" the demon laughed loudly and bitterly as a scowl caught his lips, "You trust Him too much Gabriel."
"I trust him because He is God, He is my father."
"And you think He is not petty and sinful, right?" He spit out and Gabriel thinned his lips.
"Let me tell you Gabby," Gabriel saw the demon walked closer. leaning his face toward him, "You think to highly of Him, so he sends other angels to do the dirty work. It had not changed since I fell."
Gabriel scowled as he leaned forward, "You fell for being hungry for power! I warned you and you continued to pursue it! The fall was your doing!"
Realizing he was shouting, he leaned back and let out a deep breath. Only his fallen brother could make him go from calm to angry.
"There is something wrong Gabriel," the demon stated with his hands in his pocket and head turned to the side, "Whether you care or not, you should always look for the truth."
Gabriel felt his eyes widened at those words, the same he had spoken to his ex-brother so long ago.
'He still remembers it,' he felt a gnawing in his heart and he gulped it away.
"Lucifer," Gabriel called out to have the devil pause, "Thank you."
He watched him walk through a portal and it snapped away as if it were never there. Letting out a sigh, Gabriel fisted his hands as he spread his wings. Taking flight, he headed to the gates of Heaven to speak with his Father. There must had been a mistake.
There had to be.
His father would not allow it.
