You're Like Me

Dear Imena,

During my sixth year at Academy, I met Andrew Martin. Remember how I said young hybrids have trouble hiding their powers on earth? Well hybrids can sense each other's power, whether its disguised or not. When I met Andrew, I could tell he was very strong, his power level seemed very similar to mine. I've never really talked about my powers outside of strength and what's seen physically. Obviously I'm very skilled with magic and combat, having studied and trained in those subjects for years, but some techniques require the strength only adults could have and that has never been the case for me. Trihybrid babies in the past have been abandoned or thrown out and left on their own, so each time a new trihybrid is born, they are born with new survival techniques. Luckily, my parents wanted me, so I didn't need to figure out how to survive on my own, even though I could have. I was born with the strength of an adult hybrid, the ability to speak any and all languages that have ever been muttered by the Original Beings, and other abilities that didn't appear until I was older like amazing negotiating skills and mind reading.

I met Andrew in the center of the divisions. I was at the market, when we passed by each other and sensed each other's power. We stopped and turned to look at each other.

"You're like me." we said at the same time. Andrew laughed.

"I can't believe it, the prophecy came true, all this time I didn't think the other trihybrid was ever born." he said.

"I thought the same thing. I'm Spirit by the way, Spirit Rose. I'm a Angel-Ghost-Human trihybrid." I said.

"Wow. I'm Andrew Martin. I'm a Angel-Demon-Human trihybrid. I'm so glad we ran into each other." he said, smiling.

Out loud, I agreed with him, but inside I was very worried and anxious. The more I talked to him, the worse it got. We were definitely born the same year, he was six months my senior making him a Virgo, my opposite in the zodiac circle. We were even born on the same day and time, just six months apart. Physically he was even my opposite. Obviously he was a boy, tall, fair, straight blond hair, and blue eyes; while I'm a girl, shorter, bronzed, curly brown hair, and dark brown eyes. Our personalities, interests, and lives up to that point were polar opposites. He really was my opposite is every way. Every single way.

Since I had never met him, I assumed he didn't exist. I had never heard anything of another trihybrid in the Kingdom, and he had never heard of me despite me being in the Council. I had convinced myself that I wasn't the trihybrid Isaiah had described, that I wouldn't be faced with either killing or being killed by my opposite depending on if I chose good or evil.

But since so much of the prophecy had already come true, there was no other way to explain it. Andrew was my opposite, one day we were going to make a decision that would wipe our the other one and evil itself.

I prayed that Isaiah was wrong about the rest of the prophecy, because as far as I was concerned, I didn't want to be at either end of whatever weapon that waited for us in the future.
