Dear Imena,
The next morning, I was making breakfast with Milo when the front doors burst open. I leaned out of the door way in order to see down the hall to the front door and see who it was. It was Ty, and he did not look very happy.
"I'm guessing they showed you." I said as I returned to cooking.
"Yes they did, and it makes no sense to me as to why they never bothered to mention it. The guy looks so much like Andrew!" Ty exclaimed.
"I know. Did they say least send out a scout?" I asked.
"Yeah. She left this morning."
"Who is it?"
"Roxanne."
I looked up from what I had been stirring, "Roxanne as is in Jay's sister? Rox?" I asked.
"Yeah. You seem surprised." Ty remarked.
"Well ever since my class graduated from Academy, she hasn't had much to do with anyone in her brother's friend group, especially me. That attack scarred her, poor thing is a nervous wreck." I said.
"Well she insisted on going. Maybe she's hoping to get over her fear." Ty said shrugging.
"If that's the case, I wish she would pick another way to do that." I sighed, "Her fear of him and what he could do is actually reasonable."
"I think she knows that, Spirit."
I stopped what I was doing for a moment and looked at Ty.
"You don't seem very concerned."
"Why would I be concerned? She's a trained soldier, she can handle anything that's thrown at her." he said casually.
I nodded and went quiet for a minute.
"Does Jay know?" I asked finally.
"Do I know what?"
Ty turned around quickly, Jay was standing behind him.
"Oh...nothing." Ty said.
"Come on, tell me!" Jay said excitedly.
"Well, I can't tell you."
"Why? Oh! Is it a surprise? It's a surprise isn't it? Ok sorry, I'll leave you plan. Spirit I just came here to drop this off to you, I was inspired yesterday so I designed this dress and I need you to try it on and model it for me. Send me lots of pictures. Ok, I gotta run. Love you all!"
As quickly as he showed up, Jay was gone, and I was left holding a long mint green dress on a clothes hanger in my kitchen.
"I'm guessing there's no surprise, and Jay had no idea about Rox." I said.
"Rox asked me not to tell him, and you won't either." Ty said.
I thought about it for a second, "I'll give her three days. If there's no word from her I'm going out to look for her myself."
"You won't need to. Rox can handle it." Ty said.
"I know she can, but Jay doesn't care. If he hears his little sister is missing he's going to freak out, and we don't need that right now, we've got enough to deal with." I said.
Ty nodded. Milo and I invited him to stay for breakfast, so he stayed and ate with us. After we finished eating, he got up and left to plan the surprise that Jay was expecting.
I sent a message to Roxanne and asked her to send me her location and any updates as soon as she could. But she never answered the text.
