Dear Imena,
As we got closer, we split off into our groups. Air and Earth signs moved quietly to the left, Water, Fire, and Milo moved to the right, and I continued to walk forward in the middle.
The others disappeared from my sight as we all split apart, but I could still sense them all around me, meaning Andrew could as well.
"Hide them please." I whispered to anyone or anything that could hear me.
I was about ten feet away from Andrew when he looked down at me and roared, spitting on me slightly in the process. The sound was so loud that the concrete ground began to crack around us.
"Yeah, nice to see you too." I said, wiping monster spit from my face.
"Andrew. ANDREW!" I yelled, trying to get his attention.
"He's several stories tall, your majesty. He can't hear you very well." a voice said.
A small man stepped out from behind monster Andrew's leg. It took a moment, but I recognized him. It was that new world leader that refused to make an alliance with the Vail. I hadn't seen him in years.
"Prime Minister. That is your title, correct?" I asked.
"Yes, that is his title. But me," the man paused, and as he blinked, both of his eyes turned entirely black. "not so much."
I tried to contain my surprise, but a gasp escaped me before I could catch myself. "A real demon. How long have you been possessing the prime minister?" I asked, calmly.
"Oh, years. Almost a decade actually." it responded.
"I assume you're the one who told the prime minister not to make an alliance with the Vail." I said.
"Such a smart girl! No wonder Andrew asked for my help, he doesn't have common sense like you do." The demon smiled as he spoke.
"Andrew asked you for help? Why would he do that?" I asked.
"Because he knows he is the one who is going to die and he's scared. Not only is he afraid to die, but he's afraid to die at the hands of a girl he thought was his friend." it responded, knowing very well that I was afraid of the same thing.
"But you can't actually prevent him from dying, can you?" I asked quietly.
"He doesn't need to know that." it said, chuckling maniacally, barely able to get through the whole sentence without bursting into laughter.
I looked up at Andrew. I could feel all of his anger and fear mixing into my own emotions.
"Maybe there is a way." I said softly. 𝑀𝒶𝓎𝒷𝑒 𝐼 𝒸𝒶𝓃 𝒽𝑒𝓁𝓅 𝒽𝒾𝓂.
