Two
Girls
"Carol..." Alano called out her name but she immediately pushed him to the sofa.
"Shhh," she whispered and kissed him. Alano didn't protest when she started unbuttoning his shirt. He started planting kisses on her neck. She let him touch her bosom down to the delicate parts of her body. If she can't get drunk, at least she let herself forget. Kahit isang gabi lang.
"Fuck, that feels so good," she moaned as she reached her peak. Alano buried his face on her neck, still panting. She bit her lip. At least someone is satisfied tonight. And that wasn't her. Napatingin siya sa kawalan. She's with another guy but she can't help but think of that woman she met at the coast. What has she become?
The morning came. "Don't tell anyone what happened," she told Alano who's busy putting on his pants.
"Tell anyone what?" he replied nonchalantly.
" 'Yan gusto ko sa'yo eh," she scoffed.
Hinatid niya sa labas ang lalaki. The sun hasn't quite rose yet. She hugged herself when the cold wind blew.
"Maghanap ka na kasi ng mamahalin," Alano said and laughed a little.
"School girl ako ngayon, gago. Wala ka ngang jowa eh," sagot niya.
"Wala pa but I'm gonna find her soon," anito na parang sigurado.
"Sure, alis na!" taboy niya dito.
She's never going to see him after what happened last night. Alano was never really her friend anyway. He was just there when it's fun but when the situation is hard, he disappears.
She tied her hair and pinned the lose strands.
Carol has a full lips. She has thin and high nose bridge which she is thankful for. Her sharp eyes are deep set with brown orbs. She stands above the average height. A lot of people say that she doesn't look like her age, just like what she wants.
She can get all the boys. Walang problema 'yon. It's a piece of cake. It was a game she likes to play, boys. But what happened months ago still haunts her.
Three months ago...
Girls being oppressed.
The lady is a stunner with her long locks and fair skin.
"Ayoko nga sabi eh," the lady exclaimed.
She scoffed with the guts of the guys. Wala namang binatbat.
Tigas ng ulo eh no? Putulin ko 'yang bayag niyo, gusto niyo?" She threatened the two men.
"Lakaw ta, bay," one guy finally said. Sinamaan pa siya nito ng tingin. She raised her middle finger at them. If only she can project all her rage at them, makakatikim talaga ang dalawang 'yon.
"Thanks, you are?" tanong ng babae, matapos ang commotion.
"Carol," she replied at ngumiti nang bahagya.
"Thanks Carol, I'm Kata," anito saka in-extend ang kamay.
"Yeah. No problem. Girls should protect girls," dagdag niya pa like it's an obvious thing to do.
She saw all these familiar situations with different people. She learned to fend off for herself. Guys would go chase her with their dicks out. Madalas pinapatulan niya kapag alam niya tama siya. Kahit naman ayaw niya sa mga lalaki, she still wants the D. But standing up for other woman is the priority.
"Hey, it's my first time here. Saan ba may masarap na resto?" Kata asked.
"I know a place but I don't know kung bukas na ba sila," sagot niya. Naramdaman niya na rin ang gutom. She's suddenly craving for some meat.
"Then let's go there," Kata happily responded.
Kata looks pretty like she came straight out of a magazine. Unlike her with stronger features, Kata has more feminine aura in her. Magkasingtangkad lang naman sila. Carol's skin now looks more honey dahil sa kakabilad sa init. She can easily go to Coron or Boracay. But then again, kahit siya ay hindi pumunta doon.
Kata ordered a lot of grilled fish while she stuff herself with beef. Might as well splurged on her last day here. Tomorrow she'll really go back to the city. There are people waiting for her.
"Shit. I think I just had an orgasm," she exclaimed matapos maubos ang pagkain.
"You mean foodgasm?" Kata laughed.
"It's the same thing," aniya and drink on her soda.
They went out of the restaurant at naglakad-lakad. Gusto niya na sanang maghanap ng matutuluyan for the night ngunit ang kasama niya ay parang ayaw pang umalis. Nakokonsensya naman siya. She's been through the same thing, feeling lost among the crowd of people. Not alone but lonely.
Bumili siya ng souvenirs for her friends. Bracelets na nalalagyan ng names. Wala na kasi siyang budget for expensive ones. She's sure that her friends would appreciate her presence than this gifts that are half-assed.
She got one for her niece, Marga and her cousin, Vera. For her friends Jeorge, Bea, Gelo and for Raiko. She hesitated for awhile pero deserved din ni Raiko 'to kahit na it's too late, she thought.
"How long have you been here, Carol?" Kata asked.
Napatingin siya sa kawalan. The sun has already set hours ago. The breeze coming from the sea made her shiver. Even the waves are pleasant and peaceful to her ears.
"Weeks? A month? I'm not sure." She shrugged. She doesn't really do a calendar check.
"Uh... Let me guess, nandito ka para makalimot?" hula ni Kata na parang sigurado sa sinabi.
She thought for awhile and replied, "Parang gano'n. Ikaw rin 'no? Who's the bastard?" She smirked.
Kata doesn't look like she's just here to enjoy the waves and have some beer. It's more than that. The familiar pauses and the blank stares. It's like a mirror.
"No, I'm here to remember," sagot nito saka napabuntong-hininga.
"Ang poetic naman. This dumb bitch in front of you doesn't understand," biro niya.
"I just... I can't be with the person I love the most," Kata smiled but there is pain in her eyes. She feel for her.
"Okay, laban lang. I've been through same thing. Hindi ko siya love ha. Tawag ng laman pa siguro, oo. Pero ang dami niyang arte. Sa ganda kong 'to, mapipirme sa kanya? Syempre, I choose to move on."
It's been awhile since that happened. His arrogance and his overpowering stares. Boys usually throw themselves at her. Vico really left a dent on her ego.
"Sana gano'n kadali. I think you're very pretty. Bulag siguro ang lalaking 'yon."
"Right? Right? Look at me, I'm fucking gorgeous. I can fuck with anyone tapos ite-take for granted niya lang ako? What an asshole," she scoffed telling some stranger about this things in her life.
"Sorry, napapa-kwento ako. Wala kasi akong kausap madalas do'n sa isla," dagdag niya na medyo napahiya dahil sa mga pinagsasabi.
"It's okay. Sometimes strangers are more trustworthy," sagot nito. She nodded in agreement.
"And this island you were talking about, paano pumunta doon?" she asked suddenly.
"You can ask someone on the pier to take you there. Alam nilang lahat patungong Isla Olvida," she explained.
"You're going back to your city?"
"Yeah. Wala eh. I have to face the reality. Hindi pwedeng magtago habang buhay," sagot niya sabay kibit-balikat.
"I think may pagka-poetic ka rin," Kata chuckled.
Napatingin siya sa babae and said, "I know, Kata. I'm a poem but he can't read. Gets mo 'yon?" She tried to joke.
Kata responds with a hearty laugh, "You're hilarious. Do you wanna play pretend?" she uttered.
Nagtaka si Carol sa tanong nito.
"What? Just like when we're kids? Gano'n?"
"Not exactly. Here, let me show you." Kata inched closer and held her face as she claimed her lips. There are millions of thoughts circling in her mind. But one thing is for sure, she was fucking shocked.
"What the-
"It's just pretend, Carol," Kata whispered and before she can answer, they started kissing.
All her rational thoughts are gone. She's devoured with this unfamiliar sensation. Ilang buwan ba siyang devoid from any human contact, from any carnal desire? She remembered him, the only man who dared to refuse her and thought, if only he could kiss her and touch her like this.
This is a mistake but it feels good. Carol never did it with a girl nor did she imagined doing it in reality. But the girl she's with is different. Kata's kisses sends different rush in her body.
All her senses are awake. The cold breeze of the sea didn't faze her raging blood and the hotness she feels. They're actually kissing, groping every nook and cranny of their bodies. She's giving her the same intensity as she massages the her breasts.
This is how it feels. The flesh of another woman, not hers or any man. Kata's hand traveled down her bikini and slid one finger. Carol moaned with this familiar sensation. Kata got down in between her legs. She sweat profusely as the liquid gushes, sweetly exploding one after another.
God, how she missed feeling worshiped like this. She never felt more woman than this moment right here. Not with all the men in his life. Oblivious of who's around, the two ladies clad in their nakedness danced along the fire. This is the night. The last night of her 'sabbatical'. Tomorrow, she's starting anew.
