"Ah! Izuku, you're doing it again!" Mirio shouted at me, just as I started feeling my vision dim and heart rate spike.
'What? How can he tell that I can complete a summon?'
Obviously, I grew curious, so when I heard Ramuh's call, 'Do you wish to call upon my power?'
I declined.
Mirio had already hidden himself underground, expecting me to summon another titan to try and smite him. So, after a couple seconds passed without further action, all the anomalous happenings in my body ceased.
Eventually, when Mirio came out of the ground, I asked, "How'd you know I could ask for a summon?"
"You don't know? Last time, you started glowing from your back, so when I saw you start glowing, I thought that was warning enough."
'Glowing from my back? But only my brands glow— Wait!' I hurriedly threw away my shirt and told Mirio to take a photo of my back.
"Weird, this tattoo looks nothing like the other ones," Mirio said before I snatched the phone out of his hands. With how long we'd been training together, he had obviously seen my Pulse L'cie brands; he and Nejire both.
Now looking at the picture of my back, I faltered for a solid second. "What the fuck?" I muttered, seeing the massive Sanctum L'cie brand that took up the entire backside of my torso. The thing must have been at least Stage 6 from how much detail was added onto it.
I couldn't make heads or tails out of how the brand worked with just a glance, so we just continued our regularly scheduled training. The results were… surprising to say the least.
Apparently, after declining the help of a summon, the conditions to summon lowered the more times I declined. Whereas initially, Mirio would have to be schooling me for nearly half an hour before Ramuh would pitch in, the second time around, it only took twenty minutes, then fifteen, and so on until now, where I every other minute or so Ramuh sounded like he was begging me to take the easy way out.
Eventually, the time to switch and train with Nejire came around and something interesting happened after I switched to my Sentinel Paradigm and held out against her all out assault for all of one minute.
All the tell tale signs that I could receive help from a summon appeared again; my heart rate skyrocketing along with tunnel vision. But, instead of Ramuh's voice reaching me, I heard someone different; someone… new.
'So different Paradigms have different summons. Hmm… Good to know,' I thought before accepting just to see what would happen.
"Er… I should probably tell you to prepare—"
And before I could even finish warning Nejire, the ground started quaking. From beyond the horizon along the shore, Titan — The God of Earth according to Final Fantasy XV lore — was currently sprinting towards us with a mountain-sized boulder perched on his shoulders. His every step shook the world with the force of magnitude five earthquakes.
Then, when he got to throwing distance, he literally threw the massive mound of earth at Nejire!
Fuck!
Obviously, she couldn't outrun it; neither could I for that matter. It was the size of a fucking mountain.
But! Luckily, as in the case of Ramuh's Judgement Bolt, the damage done by summon didn't measure up to even a whole percent of what it looked like it was capable of.
Hell, the mountain of a boulder which looked like it would reduce half the city into a crater, landed with hard-to-believe accuracy right on Nejire before shattering into a trillion billion pebbles that faded into particles of magic.
The only proof anyone would have of its existence was the fractured arm that came as a result of Nejire blocking the attack. That too would be completely erased after I casted Cure on her.
"What the heck, Izuku! That was dangerous!" Nejire scolded me. "It took over half of my stamina to block whatever that was and even then I almost broke my arm!"
"And you looked damn cool doing it," I said, hoping the flattery would get her off my case.
It more or less worked until Mirio drop kicked me across the beach.
"What the fuck was that for?!"
"That, my kouhai, is retribution for continuing your terrible habit of unleashing ultimate attacks without telling us beforehand!"
I guess I deserved it.
...
Over the next couple of days I would find out what summons each of my Paradigms were capable of. Mirio volunteered to be my test dummy, though, it did take a while to see them all, seeing as it seemed that after using a summon, the conditions for summoning would reset.
By the time I learned about the last of my summons, Move-in Day for U.A. students had arrived. Inko wished me good luck and had me promise her I'd take care of my health, and from there, we had a short drive to U.A.
Unlike the original Izuku, who probably needed to make five or six trips to bring all the All Might merch that went into his room, I only brought the bare necessities. People might criticize my room for lacking a theme or aesthetic, but I'd pick function over fashion any day.
Well, unless it was costume designing day. But that was only because I didn't need a functional costume with all the ridiculous powers my Quirk granted me!
"Damn son, you're here early," Setsuna greeted me as I walked into the dorm's common room on the first floor. I had all my things in the crate I was carrying on my back.
"If I'm here early, what does that say about you? Looking at your very casual set of pajamas, it looks like you've already gotten comfortable around here."
"I just thought you'd take your time to move in here, seeing as it's only been a couple hours since they allowed students to enter the premises. You and Momo live pretty close to the school, right?"
"Yup."
"Come, follow me to the elevator and I'll help you on your way to your room," Setsuna said before leading the way to the elevator. Without her help, I'd have to deal with the slight inconvenience of setting down my crate to both use the elevator and enter my room.
"Anyways, what room are you in?"
"402. You?"
Setsuna just looked at me oddly until she said, "I'm in room 403, which… should be right next to yours."
Oh? That caused me to stop.
Seeing Setsuna in Class 1-A's dorm didn't surprise me, seeing as she passed through the "new program" that guaranteed at least five of us to become recommendation students. But, that couldn't explain why floors, or at least sides of the building were no longer segregated by gender.
A minute later, Setsuna watched as I put my key in dorm room 403's lock and opened it. Seeing her start to freak out silently as she paled and started to sweat, I edged away from her as I said, "D-don't try anything funny just cause will be living right next to each other, o-ok?"
She rolled her eyes at me, but at least she was distracted from her earlier thoughts; whatever those were...
I set my crate down and started to unpack my things right in front of her, which I guess she didn't expect as she asked, "Aren't you bold, actually unpacking your things right in front of me?"
"Don't worry, all my not-safe-for-work material is locked behind a mountain of security on my laptop. The worst you'll see if you stick around are my single-colored boxers."
"You really are bold..." Setsuna said as she flinched.
"What? Did you expect that a hormonally charged fifteen-year-old like me to wouldn't watch porn? Please. I bet you and everyone else who'll be in our class has already started to explore, if you know what I mean."
"..." My honesty apparently stunned her completely silent.
Oh well, I don't need her to talk to unpack my things, so…
"Ay, what's good, dorm mate—" Someone started their greeting without ever getting around to finishing it.
"Ok, now Nezu is just fucking with me," I said, as I finished putting away the last of my clothing in my closet. Looking at the new girl that appeared out of nowhere, the girl I knew for a fact had no reason to be here, I asked, "Camie… How could you possibly be here? Not only are you a year older than us, you should be a second-year in Shiketsu!"
"Shiketsu? Listen dude, I don't know how you know my name or my age, but the reason I'm here's because a couple months ago, the homie Lemillion saved ya girl."
Is this a result of a butterfly effect predicated by my existence changing the course of the original timeline? Probably…
"Ah, whatever, I guess it shouldn't matter in the long run whether you're here or in Shiketsu. It actually may make it less boring seeing your Glamour replace one of the useless side character's."
"Dude… are you, like, psychic?" Camie asked with a glimmer in her eyes.
"Nope, I just—"
"Counted with your fingers? Yeah, we get it," Setsuna shook her head.
"Just cause you're over it doesn't mean I am! Nothing you say will stop me from repeating that line," I declared.
"Anyways, are you seriously going to be my dorm mate? Like, aint U.A. splitting us up by boys or girls?"
"Apparently not, seeing as I'm staying in room 403," Setsuna said.
"Don't worry guys, I'm only the most overpowered person around. I know all about your Quirks and personality and I have more than enough power to do as I please."
"I liked it better when you tried to insinuate that I'd come on to you," Setsuna said.
"Che! Like you wouldn't," I snorted.
