I don't want them to know anything about my past life, the curses and how you are connected to it. I want to see all of them worried free for the little time I have left with them but that will be stolen from them if they learn about what I am going through.

Bella read Stephanie's thoughts. Just like Gabrielle, she wasn't surprised to know what Stephanie was up to. She has known Stephanie for a long time to be able to guess what was on her mind.

"Then go ahead and tell us everything since you are aware of what we want to know," Charlie said in a more composed tone. He stole a secret glance at Gabrielle who wasn't staring at him.

Gabrielle seemed to be more interested in Stephanie than anyone else.

"Bella is connected to a past I dread to recall so listen carefully because I won't repeat myself if you miss any detail due to distraction from your path," Stephanie said as she braced herself for what she was about to say.
