Jacky's eyes wavered the moment Vincent asked her this question. She began to fidget and could no longer stare into his eyes.

"Are you perhaps investigating me and...,"

"Of course not. Gaby.... no Gab told me about it. She was very sad when your girlfriend left so she confided in me about what happened in the past," Jacky said. She tried to keep her breathing steady so that she will not give herself away.

How could she tell him that she was on a mission and that she is exactly what he loathes? She knew he wouldn't hesitate to kill her if he knows the truth she has been hiding from everyone.

Jacky clutched her hands lying on her thigh to stop it from trembling. She was so scared that she won't be able to escape this time around if Vincent saw her trembling hands.

"Elle would never mention that topic to anyone. What happened back then is something she has been trying to forget about so...,"
