SUBJECT 045, (C.S) , 053 (A.M) ARRIVING

[Wednesday]

°°°

I am currently walking into my drama class, like every day, when I see Carmen, the best from our class, also called Miss Perfect, discussing with our teacher and I decide to go over to them, checking if I can say something to it.

Believe me, I have always something to say.

Oh Jeez. This probably sounds like I am a giant nerd who feels better than everyone else, but hey. That is not true at all. It is just that I have no friends and also at home no one to talk to, so this is my only way to communicate with someone else than myself.

''What's wrong?'' I ask and see how Carmen sighs, smashing her script at the table in front of her.

''This is not how the character is supposed to be! Not even a little!'' Carmen scoffs, pointing at the script which is opened on the side of her character 'Christine' from 'Love Lasts Long'.

''We already talked about this once-'' The teacher begins again but I interrupt him, raising an eyebrow about the entire situation.

''Christine wouldn't be acting like she owns everything directly from the beginning. I agree with Carmen.'' I beam convincingly and our teacher sighs annoyed.

''Thank you!'' Carmen smiles back at me and grabs after the script again.

''I will change that dramatic mistake now.'' The girl says before she leaves, also grabbing after a pencil, for probabaly writing the entire character and every line new.

Our drama class teacher turns around and sits back down at his seat, while the other students come inside one after another.

Watching the people coming through the door, I notice the differences between some of them. On the one hand, there are guys like Justin which are here to actualy learn something and have a great time. On the other hand, there are also guys like Sean which are only here to get the girls and just-- urgh. Don't get me started about that subject.

''I'm Amanda Marsh! You can just call me Amanda.'' I walk over to the girl and hold my hand out to her, waiting that Carmen will shake it, what she does after a few seconds.

''I'm Carmen-'' She starts but I am interrupting her rudely.

''Oh I know who you are, everyone does! You are the best of the entire drama class and also very inspiring, I personally think. Pleasure to meet you.'' I smile and she laughs weirdly, obviously pretty confused by me, but I am used to that reaction.

''Nice to meet you too.'' She says while she already turns back around to her script, crossing several lines before she writes over them.

She's really creative, interesting!

''This is so creative!'' I say excitedly and am able to see that Carmen slowly seems to get annoyed from me.

''Thanks. Now I have to concentra-.'' She begins and scoffs, but the speaker on the wall suddenly turns on with a crack and all of us look up to it.

''Carmen Sampaguita and Amanda Marsh to the headmaster as fast as possible, please. Thank you.''

Why me? I am basically invisible in this school and don't do shit. To be honest, I wish I would be able to suddenly turn to someone more than just 'the' outcast.

''What?'' Carmen gets pale and the entire class seems to stare at her, which obviously makes her feel, at least a bit, uncomfortable.

''You will only find out when you go!'' I grins motivated and already walk out of the room, then I hear her shouting after me.

Knew it. I mean that she will follow me.

''Wait! Let's go together!'' Carmen arrives next to me and we head fastly upstairs to the third floor, where the secreteriat is placed.

''This is suspicuous.'' She mutters and I look at her, noticing how Carmen seems to be extremely nervous.

''You are such a happy sunshine. I don't think it is something bad to be honest!'' I smirk at her and she smiles back weakly, before we enter the room.

''We should come to the headmaster?'' My company asks and we get brought into his office.

Most offices are imagined with those bald gray or white walls and the big dark brown desk where a fat gray haired old man is sitting in front of, but it is different here. Our headmaster is pretty young, I think between thirty and forty, and the walls have several colors with a lot of plants in the shelves.

''Sit down you both, please.'' Mr. Hudson points at the two chairs infront of his desk and me and Carmen sit down carefully.

''Why are we here?'' The girl next to me already begins to ask and the headmaster chuckles a little.

''Let me speak, please,''

The moment he says that, Carmen closes her mouth almost immediately and looks at him in confusion.

''You both are very good in acting, how I heard, and we have currently the casting for this big theatre role here in our school, which is looking out for special talented students. Luckily, you both are invited to go and inform yourself about it now.'''

As soon as Mr. Hudson finishes his sentence, I wide my eyes and Carmen squeals a little before she out of all sudden sits up comepletely straight in her seat.

''Where is it? When?'' She asks with shining eyes and I can see the headmaster smiling again, a bit weird how he always smiles if you ask me.

''It is in ten minutes in room 062, which is on the second floor.''

''What?! I need to get there now!'' Carmen already jumps up from her seat and looks at me like she is expecting me to do something.

''Are you coming?'' She asks and I also stand up when I realize, following the over excited girl outside.

''This is incredible!'' She squeals again happily while we walk downstairs to the second floor.

''I know, right?'' I giggle a little and after only two minutes, we arrive at the room.

I can feel my heart beating fastly, because of the excitness for the castings while I step forward for knocking on the door.

''No one answers.'' I shrug sadly after we are waiting for around five minutes, but Carmen looks at me serious and just opens the door, walking right into an empty room.

''Oh, wow.'' She sighs disappointed but I look at the blackboard where is something written on.

''Sit down, we will be there in five minutes.'' I read it out loud and we do how we, apparently, get told.

I feel kind of watched, is that normal? Maybe it's a part of the casting! Oh my god I'm so excited!

It wasn't even entire five minutes which passed by, when the door opens again and a tall, in black dressed man walks inside.

In his hands are two big cups with water, as it seems, destined for me and my new theatre friend right next to me.

''Good day, ladies.'' The mysterious guy smiles while he gives us the cups.

Still a bit concerned, I glare at the water. Waiting for something special to happen, but it doesn't. So I just put it down at the table.

''Because you both will have to sing too, I already brought you two some water for your voices. The music is on their way.'' The man smiles at us widely while Carmen slowly sets the cups onto her lips and drinks something of the water.

Again someone who smiles mysteriously.

When I see that she isn't dying from it, I also swallow down more than the half of the water, but feel a bitter taste in my mouth after it is down in my stomach.

''How do you guys feel?'' He asks us a few minutes later and I begin to recognize how my head starts to feel heavier, like I didn't sleep for an entire day and night.

''I'm fine just-, tired I think.'' Carmen hides a yawning behind her hand.

I want nothing more than lie my head at the table and sleep for the rest of my life.

Don't get me wrong, this opportunity is great and would be looking good on my testimony, but my eyes are suddenly way too heavy to deal with this.

''It will take a bit of time, just lie your heads at the tables and chill a little.'' The man smiles again widely.

Can he read my thoughts?! No, this is wrong. This is as wrong as when the good guy suddenly falls in love with the bad guy and they end up together out of all sudden. I need to get away.

Even though I am just confused and try to think of a way how to get away, I lie my head at the table and close my eyes.

Just a minute...

Then I fall into a deep sleep.
