Zeke Orion,
Today I woke up hearing my mother reprimanding our drunkard grandfather.
Actually, I had enough of him to the point that I don't give any attention to him.
A few days ago, he was arrested for public disturbance, he was drunk. Cursing other people and picking a fight against his stepbrother.
One concerned citizen told us about it, we were completely clueless at that time. My mom was so stressed about it. She had to take my grandfather out of jail.
My mother experienced all the firsts when it comes to taking care of my grandfather. She experienced bailing him out of prison, saving him from a near death experience being judged for not being a good in-law and etc..
Our neighbors judged my mother because of the rumors some people spread about her. They judged her without knowing her sacrifices.
That's how I realized how close minded people can be. We believe what we want to believe. Nevermind the truth.
Zeke, I hope that you don't turn to be that kind of person. Before you judge other people, make sure to hear both sides. Do not base on rumors. We need facts.
Words stabbed people sharper than a knife. It causes wounds that are not visible to the naked eye. Words can cost a life, remember that.
So try to be careful with your words. Don't be reckless.
As humans, we tend to speak what we feel. We speak harsh words when we're angry, we speak the most unexpected words we can utter. We speak base on how we feel. That's the time our hearts speaks for us. That's okay, but we must control ourselves.
Remember this Zeke, "Speak what's in your heart, but let the mind control your mouth. Don't let the mouth spit poisonous words, that can kill other people's hearts."
It is very challenging to filter our words. I am still in the process of doing it.
Zeke, if ever you notice that you're unable to filter your words and you want to, start thru baby steps.
Day by day, try changing the way you speak. And as time pass by, unnoticeably you'll see how you change and how you are able to put a smile on other people's face, thru your words.
It's a process, and trust the process. It may take a long time, but it sure is worth it.
Love, Ashia Elio.
