Part 2 - It's in the EyEs

Once he was through, he immediately saw the Hogwarts Express. He was so overwhelmed he couldn't even begin to describe how he was feeling. He wanted to rush through so badly to get on the train, but it was very crowded, so he waited.

When he saw a space he quickly dumped his case with the others and got on the train. He started looking for an empty compartment, but they were all full. So, he carried on walking further down the train, he then came to a halt as he found an empty compartment. He slid the door open and quickly walked in before anyone else could take it. He turned to look around, but no one followed him in, not that he was bothered as he was used to it. He placed his bag on the empty seats and sat down, quietly started to read one of his books. He would occasionally look up to stare out the window of the door. He would see people walking pass.

Gwydion lost track of time reading his book. Suddenly, he started to get the feeling that he was being watched. He glanced up at the window of the door, and was surprised to see a boy with pure blonde hair stood at the door, looking away. He didn't realise he was staring until the boy turned and their eyes locked. It was only for a second, but it seemed longer to him.

The boy walked off, Gwydion watched him till he could no longer see him. Gwydion shrugged his shoulders and went back to reading his book. It wasn't until the train started moving when he heard the swoosh of the door opening then closing. He thought nothing of it at first until he smelt something unfamiliar. He looked up and saw the blonde haired boy from before sitting opposite him.

"Oh hello, w… what are y… you going to do… to m… me?" Gwydion stuttered as he slowly closed his book and gently placed it next to him.

"I'm not going to do anything to you, I just thought you could do with some company" Ganon said smiling, "I quite like the quietness sometimes"

"Anything from the trolley?" The confectionary lady called out several times. She wasn't at their compartment yet but they could hear her clearly.

"I'm Ganon Griffiths, I needed to get away from certain people" Ganon said

"Hi I'm Gwydion Rees, nice to meet you..." he started, but got interrupted as the confectionary cart came past.

"Anything from the trolley boys?" the confectionary lady asked cheerfully.

Gwydion got up from his seat looked at Ganon as if wanting to ask him, then faced the confectionary lady. Ganon just looked at him and smiled.

Gwydion was facing the lady before looking to see what she has.

"Well dear do you want anything?" she asked. Ganon chuckled to himself and walked behind Gwydion.

"Need some help Gwydion?" he asked. Gwydion looked at Ganon and nodded shyly.

"Erm...ok, I mean yes please" Gwydion stuttered

"OK. Can we have two boxes of chocolate frogs, one box of Bertie Botts and a packet of Droobles please" Ganon said to the lady.

Ganon and Gwydion then sat back down and continued their conversation.

"So going back...Why...did you ask me what I was going to do to you?" Ganon continued the conversation thinking about his words carefully

There was a moment of silence before Gwydion responded.

"Well back in the muggle school people use to make fun of me," Gwydion paused "...I hear them whisper behind my back as I walk past them down the corridor." Gwydion finished by burying his face in his hands.

Ganon used his free hand to prise Gwydion's hands away from his face.

"You can ignore that place now, you are going to Hogwarts where you will be treated better and have more friends" Ganon trying to make him feel better.

"I doubt that, as I don't communicate well with people often, cause in the non-magic world my parents work so many hours they sent me to boarding school and I didn't have any friends there either." Gwydion said looking sad, "I am basically invisible" He finished off.

"Don't worry about it, I kind of wish my parents left me alone sometimes. I mean I love them but they can be suffocating at times." Ganon said expecting to see Gwydion's smile widen, but instead it disappeared altogether.

"At least they care about you. When I told my parents about the Hogwarts letter and that I had decided to go. They didn't even turn around, so I just left." He said sadly.

"Aww man, sorry to hear that. Well, at least you will have one friend whilst you are at Hogwarts. No matter which house we are in, we will still be friends." Ganon failed to make him smile again.

"That will be good to know someone, but what do you mean by house?" Gwydion asked slightly confused.

"Well in Hogwarts, you will be sorted into houses, if I read it right on the website that there are four houses. Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. They are the last names of the four founders of Hogwarts." Ganon explained.

"That sounds cool," Gwydion said sounding excited, I did try to go on the website but it only told me so much information"

"Ah, that's because there is a special code to type in unique to only witches and wizards, Muggles can't access it, we try to keep our world hidden from them as they don't understand. Obviously you are a muggle which makes you a muggle-born wizard, someone who is born with non magic parents but don't let that hold you back. Having said that you may hear the word 'mudblood' meaning 'dirty blood', don't be scared just threaten to curse whoever calls you it, or tell me and I will do it for you." Ganon said noticing a slight smile on Gwydion.

Gwydion listened intently to Ganon explaining to him the difference between the worlds of magic and muggles, he would occasionally have a subtle smile.

Throughout the rest of the journey Ganon and Gwydion's eyes were locked onto each other and it spoke volumes as if they knew each other well-enough.

Gwydion then broke the silence by asking questions about Hogwarts and the magical world and Ganon would happily explain it to him.

"Ganon you say these houses are named after the four founders, gri...fin..dor, sly...ferin, huffle...puff and ravenclaw, could you tell me more about them?" Gwydion asked.

"Yeah sure, Godric Gryffindor those in that house are considered brave, talented, and passionate and their logo is the lion. You with me?" Ganon explained

Gwydion nodded as he listened to the rest.

"OK. Salazar Slytherin, those in this house are considered ambitious, focused, determined their logo is the serpent, a snake and it's been known that there's not a witch or wizard in Slytherin that has turned bad. Helga Hufflepuff are hardworking, honest and loyal their logo is the badger and then there's Rowena Ravenclaw, the Raven is their logo and those in this house are usually analytical, intelligent and creative."

"That sounds really cool, which house do you think you're in?" Gwydion smiling a little more.

"Well seeing that I'm a pure-blood and from a long line of Slytherin I think I will be put in Slytherin." Ganon said

Gwydion looked down at his feet seemingly disappointed "Ok, I be ignored no matter what house I'm in anyway" Gwydion mumbled, but somehow Ganon managed to make out what he said.

"I would be very surprised you make it in the Slytherin, cause if you did you would make history as you be the first" Ganon said lifting Gwydion's head up with two fingers, "You won't be invisible, as I will be with you most of the time."

Gwydion's smile grew bigger.

"Somehow I feel like I've gotten to know you a little bit better already" Ganon said. Gwydion looked at him weirdly.

"Really?" Gwydion responded

"Your eyes. It just speaks volumes and your silence says a lot about you too" Ganon explained sweetly hoping he wasn't showing his affectionate side too soon for Gwydion to notice.

Gwydion just looked at him, he felt a certain amount of warmth thinking it might be from the train and didn't know how to respond to that. Thankfully the train arrived at Hogwarts, they both got up and Ganon let Gwydion go first just so he could watch him.

As they both exited the train, Gwydion noticed that there were eyes looking in his direction. He looked behind him confused, he realised the eyes were on his new friend Ganon not him. He sighed in relief as he too looked at Ganon. Of course they would be staring at him, he has the height, the slim toned build and a handsome face.

Ganon had managed to stay with Gwydion throughout the riverboat ride to Hogwarts, even walking through the Great Hall until the sorting hat which sat on the stool next to a Professor.

"I'm Professor Falcon Hawks."

Gwydion thought for a moment and muttered' That must be who sent me that letter'

"Before you can sit down you will all be sorted into your houses and they will be like your family, triumphs will win points, rule breaking you will lose points" Falcon explained.

Each name was called out and when Gwydion was called he nervously walked towards the stool hearing a lot of whispering. Professor Hawks then placed the hat on Gwydion's head and it had taken a while for it to decide that Gryffindor would be best. He wasn't happy when Ganon was placed in Slytherin. They managed to seat themselves where they could face each other.

Gwydion sat next to a fellow Gryffindor called Hawthorn Starling. He got on well with him. Every now and again he would look up at Ganon chatting to another guy, occasionally their eyes would meet.

After the headmaster, Professor Larch's speech, the feast commenced. Food suddenly started appearing on the table's. Everyone's eyes were drawn to the food smiling in amazement. Gwydion was chatting to his fellow Gryffindor friend Hawthorn when the feast appeared right before their eyes.

Gwydion's face lit up as it all smelled good and it was all the foods he liked. Ganon had caught Gwydion smiling, that made Ganon happy. As Gwydion was munching away he looked up, with his mouth full, at Ganon. He quickly swallowed and wiped his mouth, Ganon smirked at him.

As Ganon and Gwydion were looking at each other Ganon mouthed "We'll meet later." Gwydion just smiled subtly.

It was a good thing that Gwydion had learned how to lip-read at his muggle school, though he never thought he would ever use it.

Throughout the meal they couldn't keep their eyes off each other, they had to be careful. They had agreed to keep it discreet as Gwydion wasn't used to the life that Ganon had. Ganon didn't mind as Ganon liked how Gwydion has adapted to his peaceful lifestyle.

"Why are you smiling so hard and who are you looking at?" Ash-Strix asked Ganon.

"Oh...Erm...nothing...I'm just looking at how amazing the food is, almost reminds of home." Ganon said quickly and carried on eating his sausage.

"OK sure" Ash-Strix said frowning at Ganon unconvinced by his response. Ash-Srix hatched a plan to try and get the truth and also carried on eating.

Gwydion was starting to get quite full, so he decided to exit the great hall early before it got too busy and take a stroll to walk off the food.

"Where are you going Gwydion? You're going to miss our route to the common room," asked Hawthorn.

"You can show me later, I just need to be alone for a bit and get some fresh air. I will meet you back here later and you can show me." Gwydion said as he headed towards the door.

Ganon saw him leave and he quickly finished what he had left, then he followed Gwydion without causing suspicion. Once outside the hall he picked up the pace to catch up to him. Ganon wasn't sure if he would hear, but he called out 'Gwydion' just loud enough for Gwydion's ears. Gwydion slowly turned on the spot with a faint smile and stopped to wait for Ganon.

"There's that smile...sort of…" Ganon chuckled, "Gwydion I didn't know if you would have heard me call" Ganon asked

"Yeah I can lip-read too as it was part of our class in my muggle school. As for my hearing, I didn't know I had it until my classmates were talking behind back after I left the room. I heard what they said about me. Oh and fyi you can stop your little chuckles when you see me smile" Gwydion said incredulously.

"Aww sorry you had to go through that alone buddy" Ganon smirked, "your boarding school sounds like it teaches you a fair bit if you know how to lip-read" Ganon said

"I'm glad that I amuse you so much. And when I said it was part of my class I was in the library of my 'muggle' school and learned off the internet." Gwydion explained

"Aw... I'm only teasing you," he said with a smile. Gwydion wasn't so amused.

"I see you are going to take some work, I will get you smiling more you'll see." Ganon said confidently.

They carried on walking and chatting, they got to know each other real well. They walked to the watchtower were it was a bit more private. Here they could chat a bit more freely avoiding the suspicious souls.

They got really close and cosy, as Ganon leaned in a bit closer. Ganon felt a warm sensation rising inside of him the closer he got to Gwydion, but he managed to push himself away.

"Gwydion, I really have to get this off my chest. This feeling I'm feeling inside me really scares me. It has never happened to me before, at least not this strongly," Ganon confessed openly.

As Ganon stared at Gwydion, he started getting a warm tingly feeling inside of his chest. It was something he had never felt when he dated girls, this feeling was very new and hard to resist. He decided in that moment to try something.

He leaned in to kiss Gwydion on the cheek, but Gwydion turned at the last moment to say something and their lips gently pressed together. They parted quickly and gazed into each other's eyes, mesmerized. Gwydion was lost for words, he was trying to process what just happened. He wanted to say something, but Ganon beat him to it.

"I...I...I'm s..so..sorry, I...don't know what came ...over me." Ganon stuttered shuffling away from Gwydion. Gwydion was feeling warm and tingly, he moved in closer to Ganon as he moved away. Ganon stared at him, Gwydion stared back

"I'm not usually this comfortable around people but being with you, you make it easy for me, I can't explain it..." Gwydion said as he moved closer before he placed his lips gently against Ganons in a heated kiss. They parted as they heard the owls flutter loudly. They both chuckled to each other.

Before long they noticed the horizon changing from dark to dusk. They sprinted together back into the castle and parted ways to avoid suspicion. Shortly after, Gwydion ran into his fellow Gryffindor Hawthorn Starling.

"Oh! Hi Hawthorn? Didn't see you there, are you ready to show me to my first class?" Gwydion asked quickly.

"Hi Gwydion! Yeah I'm ready, I have been looking for you. It's too early for class, did you even go to sleep?" Hawthorn responded slowly.

"Yeah I was going to go to sleep, but I realised I didn't know where my bed was, so I gave up and just watched the sunrise instead. It was such a beautiful horizon," Gwydion lied.

Feeling like he was glowing he followed Hawthorn to the Gryffindor common room looking back but couldn't see Ganon.

"How come you didn't come meet me earlier after your walk?" Hawthorn asked

Gwydion looked at him, "Oh...Erm...I..I...got side tracked and forgot about the time. It happens when I'm in my zone"

Hawthorn smiled and showed him the way to the common room. Since Gwydion had a little time to pass before his first class, he decided to take a nap. Hawthorn showed him the way and sat in the common room reading, so he could wake him up in time.

Meanwhile Ganon was sprinting, then slowed to walk the rest of the way back to the Slytherin common room. He assumed he was heading in the right direction as he was following some fellow Slytherin buddies. Although he was new to Hogwarts, no one dared to question his whereabouts. Apart from his right-hand man Silver Ash-strix, who happened to be waiting at the end of the corridor to show him the way to the common room.

"Just where have you been galavanting off to then Ganon?" Ash-Strix asked accusingly with his arms folded.

"Me?" Ganon questioned. "I haven't been anywhere that I shouldn't be, if that's what you are thinking. I just needed to take a walk, Silver Ash-Strix." Ganon said knowing full-well he hated his full name.

"I have asked you time and time again, not to call me that name, it's Ash or Ash-Strix!" he yelled out. A Professor just then came up from behind.

"What's with all the shouting?" Professor Wren asked with the look of disgust. "Being up this early, people might think you are upto no good," He finished.

"Well Professor, Ash-Strix was just showing me back to the common room and decided to go the long way" Ganon said with a slight attitude.

"Well you better hurry as your first class is due to start very soon," Professor Wren said, then waited for them to walk off.

"Ganon there's no point going back to the common room now, we got to go to our first transfiguration class. I will have to show you later," Ash-Strix said moodily.

They walked to their first lesson of the day quietly. This was the lesson Gwydion enjoyed the most, that was taught by Thea Nightshade.

Ganon was only a row behind Gwydion and occasionally he would turn around and their eyes would meet.
