Crimson pressed the note against her chest, causing crinkles to form in the paper. Was she really going to do this? Was she really going to throw away a friendship on a chance, a chance that her feelings will be returned?. It was something she thought a lot about and it was something she was willing to risk. What harm could it cause right?. She paced in front of her friend's, Jennifer's, locker having one final thought of doubt before sliding the letter in the slot. Crimson heavily sighed, a weight being lifted from her chest, as she walked into to the cafeteria to find a seat and to wait for her friend. She had spotted an empty table in the far back and decided to sit there. She sat patiently, fiddling with the many bracelets around her wrist, having thought against picking a meal from the food line-her stomach aching to much from nervousness to eat. Even the idea of food made her nauseated.
Time dragged on as she continued to wait. 'What's taking her so long?' she thought 'she would normally be here by now' she continued. The cafeteria had become unbearably loud, making Crimson's head to pound. Her thoughts became more and more frantic, as it got harder for her to breathe. 'Was she ever going to show up?', 'is she going to stick me up', 'does she think our friendship is fake?', 'did someone make her think that?'. 'Did they beat her up?!' she yelled inside her head as warm tears threatened to spill from her eyes. Her head hurt. Her stomach twisted. Her lungs felt compressed. Her heart felt like it's caving in. She couldn't stay there any longer, so she left. Crimson had wanted to bolt out, but that would've made a scene. She walked out, slowly, going unnoticed by the students using the door straight across from her table that the teacher normal didn't want people to use. But they wouldn't know, right?
Crimson strode through the empty halls, not having any where in particular in mind to go, finally allowing the tears to fall. Her eyes stung as she found a door that lead to a field located at the back of the school, she entered not caring if she would miss a class. What Crimson found on the other side was Jennifer, her friend, leaning up against a tree reading a book. She wiped away her tears, making her way to Jen. The golden eyed girl sat beside her friend, being completely unnoticed by the other girl. Tapping Jennifer on the shoulder, making her presence known to her. "Oh Crimson!" The girl with the blue tips exclaimed "it's nice to see you! Sorry I didn't join you at lunch today, I just couldn't stand being in the cafeteria" Jennifer said apologetically "I wanted to text you to say I was outside so you wouldn't worry, but my phone died" she continued hiding behind her book a bit. Crimson smiled, completely forgetting how she felt earlier. "It's fine Jenny, really" she chuckles, placing her arm on top of her knees. "So, what book you reading today?" she asked, knowing her friend had already finished the one from yesterday. Jennifer smiled brightly, loving when someone asked her about books "classic horror stories, it's a bunch of short stories one is about Dracula. My favorite are the ones written by Edgar Allan Poe!" the girl said happily, holding the book in front of Crimson's face. Crimson chuckled again, admiring how adorable her friend was acting. She looked away, her face heating up at that thought.

"Bye Crimson, I'll see you after class!"
"See ya then Jenny!"
Jennifer waved goodbye to her friend, making a detour to her locker before going to her class. Putting in her lock combination, she opened the door being surprised that a letter fell out. "Huh?" She picked up the letter, examining the exterior for a hint to who left it. Curiosity becoming of her, Jennifer piled up the flap and pulled out the piece of paper.
'Greetings Jennifer,'
The formality of the letter made her both more confused and curious. She read on.
'I have admired your beauty and talent from afar. Well, at first maybe. I'm going to make a guess you're wondering who I am, since you are a very curious person. I am Crimson, your friend. I have had a crush for almost a year now. I love everything about you, and I mean that. I'm not expecting you to reciprocate my feelings, and I have come to terms with that. Anyways, I would rather tell you all this in person- even if it will make me very nervous. Met me at our spot in the forest behind the school.
Sincerely, Crimson'
Jennifer didn't know what she was to think of this. Her best friend has a crush on her? How long has she felt this way? Well Crimson had said for almost a year, but how many months is that?. She wasn't sure. The first warning bell rang, causing her to remember that she had class. Shit. Jennifer bolted through the hall trying to get to her class on time, being she had Calculus and that was all the way ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCHOOL. 'Fuck' she angrily thought. Jennifer had ended up making it a few seconds before the final warning bell. As she took her sit, Jennifer was feeling lucky her teacher liked her enough to not give her extra work for almost being late.

Crimson sat impatiently in her English class, waiting for the school day to be over. She didn't really care for literature like her friend, and crush, did. She was more into sports and hand on things, sitting for an hour wasn't really her thing which made her get dentition a lot. But she couldn't get it today. Crimson had to confess to Jennifer like she planned to, so she sat as proper as she could muster. But her patience was running thin, and she didn't know how much longer she could sit for. Crimson stared up at the clock, ''1:29' one more minute to go' she thought fiddling her thumbs.
*Briiiiiiiiinnnnggg!!!*
As soon as the bell rang she was out of her seat, backpack in hand. Crimson had been one of first to be out of the classroom and in the hall, she was glad for that. That meant there wouldn't be alot of traffic in the halls, meaning she'd be at their spot in no time. She sprinted down the hallway ignoring the people who told her to slow down, not caring. The only thing she cared about was Jennifer, and the chance they could be something more than friends.
She ended up being the first one there, as she suspected. Crimson slowly walked up to the tree, slightly out breathe, her and Jennifer spent so many afternoons talking about miscellaneous things, probably no one else pondered about. Sitting down quietly, she closed her eyes- leaning against the big oak tree. Crimson heavily sighed, trying to calm the nervousness in her bones. The last time she had felt this way was when she had revealed her true self to Jennifer, Crimson had been so nervous back then. That the brunette wouldn't accept her, but she did. And here she was again worrying over the same girl. Crimson hung her head lowly, feeling tears brink her eyes. "What's the point? She doesn't like you that way..." she said bitterly, opening her eyes and looking up at the newly fading blue sky " you should just give up..." she continued.
"Give up on what?"
Crimson had been startled by a very familiar voice. 'Jennifer'.
"You're not giving up on me, are you?" The brunette said slyly. "Of course not" Crimson replied wiping the tears from her eyes, getting up and walking over to Jennifer. "Look Jennifer,..." she began grabbing a hold of her friend's hands, refusing to make eye contact. "I... I really, really, like you...I've fallen in love with you in the year and half I've known you..and...it's been the most wild and fucking amazing thing I've experienced, probably ever will, and...I mean. What I'm trying to say is, Jennifer, I love you and it would make me so very happy if you were my girlfriend. So, what do you say? Give this demon a shot?" Crimson said, blushing, finally looking up into Jennifer's pale purple eyes. "Crimson, I..." Her friend started looking away, she felt her heart sink into her stomach as she slowly let go of the girl's hands. "Right, sorry, it was really stupid to think you'd-" She had been cut off by Jennifer, kissing her on the lips. Crimson could feel her heart exploding inside her chest, as she gradually began to kiss back. Crimson snaked her arms around her friend's waist, deepening the kiss, as Jennifer wrapped her arms around Crimson's neck. They both pull away, being slightly out of breathe. "Is good enough of an answer for you?" Jennifer asked smiling, "I don't know, I think your going to have to say that again" Crimson said slyly, smirking. "Oh my god, your such a dumbass!" The brunette chuckled, "but I'm your dumbass~" Crimson replied. "I know~...".
