XXXV. Zombies.

Custos Cattus continued hissing outside that nest of wooden planks that Vanilla and Rowie were in. She approached the cracks on the wood to try to see anything outside, but it was as tranquil as she left it.

Or at least it looked like. It could be that an apparition was roaming there in their ethereal form. That was one of the things that made them dangerous. It was not like you could just fry them up with lightning or fire streams when they were ethereal.

You were either forced to make them manifest in their physical form again, expulse them through to some specific rituals if they were invading a home, or use very specific weapons against them.

Vanilla felt glad to have brought Custos Cattus.

She crossed looks with Rowie. She then leaned on the door, with the revolver at the level of her waist, and put her hand on the doorknob.

She slowly unlocked the door, with the gun ready to fill with the lead of .357 caliber at whatever could be out there.
