LXXVII. Preparatives.

One of the six Giant Spiders at the rear stepped closer. It stopped in front of Vanilla, with some orange and red objects resting on her backpack.

"That is the armor they promised," Rowie said. "They want you to put it on."

The Giant Spider kneeled, allowing Vanilla to see better the set. "Well, they even look my size," She grabbed what looked like the chest plate and inspected it.

It was a long shirt-dress that almost reached the level of her knees, made of various scales that variated in size, with the upper ones at the chest and back bigger than the scales at the shoulders and hips. The interior of the armor was lined with black leather of unknown origin.

The scales looked perfectly cut; as if a professional smith gave them a shield-shape, and placed them with good symmetry at each part. Their edges had a yellow-white tone, which ascended to yellow, then orange, and finally red as they reached the center of the scales.
