CLII. The Day is Seized.

Vanilla and Lugus entered the Land Residence with Rowie behind. "Doesn't Carol say anything about him being inside?" Her father asked, holding the door for them.

"...Yes, well no," Vanilla responded. "Rowie is very educated. He never leaves a spot dirty."

She thought about it: although Carol was against the idea of Rowie wandering around the polished floors of the Land Residence —and adopting Rowie as a whole at first— she had stopped complaining about him when Lugus sent a card back where he authorized Vanilla to have a dog. Did Carol stop caring in order to please her husband —who wasn't even there in those times? or was Rowie too much of a good dog to not cause any trouble inside?

Lugus closed the door with the three of them inside. Rowie noticed that Vanilla's tone of voice had turned sweeter and louder, compared to her raspy and lower tone of voice.
