Meet Blaze

√A shift to Blaze's point of view. Thought you might like this, not an actual chapter though.

;This happened on Sheen's first day at their school.

Third week of school, still there's nothing interesting going on. I should have just kept track of those little dark faeries from the lower year.

"This is Sheen Natalia..." Our mentor introduces the new student in front of our class. I examined the new girl, I knew she's not just an ordinary girl. Our school doesn't accept late enrollees, she must be special or something. While she's sitting, she kept looking around, I looked at Siche, he must be playing around again.

I looked back to the new girl again and caught her staring at me, I could see the shock on her face. She immediately looked away from me, she seems scared. What did I do? Well, I got this normal glaring eyes that everyone is afraid of. It was a quick and sudden moment but her eyes were already imprinted on my mind. Her almond-shaped eyes that is the color of violet shines vividly complimenting her ash brown hair with streaks of golden yellow strands.

I walked lazily towards the water chamber. Our mentor just told us to do this and that and I did it at ease. I saw the new girl watching me, so I stopped what I'm doing causing the water to splash at the basin. She stared at me like she was asking for a challenge. I just rolled my eyes at her, crazy girl. Then I realized she were still looking at me, what's her problem? Then she rolled her eyes. I chuckled, more interesting than I thought.

I quickly exited the chamber but a council suddenly blocked my way. "The Dean wants you in his office." Aren? I wonder why.

I walked towards the Dean's quarter. "You asked for me?" I asked him when I stepped on the room.

"Yes. You have plans after class?" Why would he ask? I'm not feeling good about this.

"The head of the royal guard's gonna be home at six." I told him.

"Can you spare me a moment until five?"

"What for?" He rarely ask for a favor, it was always the other way.

"I need you to help the new girl with her major classes." Did I heard it right?

"What? Why would I? I don't even want to teach Siche who's above ninety percent of the students in our class, then you're telling me to help this new girl who will be starting from basics?" I'm really not a guy with overflowing patient like Siche.

"Well you don't really need to teach her. We just need someone to make it seem like she is learning anew." He said.

"What?" He's making it hard for me to understand.

"Just spend a few days with her. Pretend that you're having lessons with her."

"Why don't you just ask someone if you don't really need her to be taught?" Why am I needed? I don't have much time to waste.

"You're the top student here, no one will doubt you if you tell them that you were able to teach her in just a few days." For the first time, I regretted being the top student. Is that what my reward is?

"Then let them doubt." It's common in our realm to be doubted, if you just ignore the rumors they will subside.

"I already talked with your Dad, he said you should do this." He said that? What's with this new girl? I ought to know.

I head to the practice room after my last class. "Blaze!" Someone called me from behind. I looked around and saw Sasha. I can already sense that she's about to say or do something stupid. I quicken my pace, trying to avoid her. "Hey Blaze!" She stepped inside the practice room after me.

"What? You need me to catch faerieflies again just to set them free?" I'm telling you. This girl's all weird, she asked me to catch faerieflies then set them free, she said she feels satisfied with that.

"This is serious! Though I've been serious back then. Please tell me you'll help me, hmm?" She asked me with puppy eyes.

"That won't work on me, better if you ask Siche." Siche has always got her back, and I knew he loved her long before.

"It's about Siche, Blaze!" What about Siche? Did they fought?

"The problem?" If we talk about their relationship, you can say I'm a fan. I convinced Siche number of times to confess to Sasha but he just can't.

"Yesterday, we were in some kinda situation. Suddenly, we were standing so close, then I can't really exactly remember what happened but the main problem is that we kissed." She blurted out. Woah! And here I thought Siche was such a coward. "And I don't really know what I feel. That moment my heart was, you know, like- it was going crazy. And I was going crazy, but I don't want to talk to him about this. But then I want to know-" This girl got a lot to say.

"So you want me to help you with?" I need to finish this before the new girl comes.

"Kiss me." My eyes widened.

"What? No. Get out." Is she crazy? My cousin has called dibs on her since we were young, I'm not that kind of person.

"Blaze!" She pleaded, dragging the letter a on my name. I wish the new girl would enter right now so I have reason to get rid of Sasha. "I just wanna see if I would feel the same way I felt with Siche."

"Just one. And just a peck." I thought of a way to get through this. She already closed her eyes and I was being ready to manipulate her mind. I actually hate to use this power of mine unless extremely needed, I guess it is right now. I was trying to put in Sasha's mind that we kissed and that she feels nothing about it when I saw the new girl walking toward us.

Oh shit! She looks so shocked then she immediately retreated. I moved the stool so that she will bump into it when she turned around for her to catch Sasha's attention.

"Wrong room, sorry." The new girl said.

"I doubt that." I looked at Sasha. "I think you're no one's business here?" I mocked her. Thanks to the new girl I avoided Sasha and her stupid kiss and using my powers.

The new girl and I both agreed not to do anything. Then I left her in the practice room, sleeping. I was going to wake her up but changed my mind when I saw her lying on my shirt. She didn't even thanked me for letting her borrow my shirt, that was my favorite.

I stepped on the dining as soon as I reached home. Sat there were, Siche, my uncle, which is Siche's father, along with his wife, and my father. They were already waiting for me. I sat on my chair casually, not bothering for greetings. They chatted all the way while eating, they kept asking my Father about his recent missions inside the palace.

"Blaze let's talk for a while in the yard." I followed my father outside. I wondered what he's going to tell me. He rarely ask me to talk with him alone from the day my mother died "I heard you taught the transferee after-class?" About her again?

"Yes. Aren said it's what you think I should do." Why do they keep talking about her?

"I have another favor to ask from you." Something's really fishy with this new girl. A favor from the school's dean and a royal guard?

"Let me hear it first."

"Can you keep watch of her?"

"What do you mean keep watch of her? Is she someone to protect or to watch out for?"

"I just need you to report to me if something unusual happens with her. Can you do that?" He can't even ask what I'm up to these days, yet he wants to know what's happening with this new girl.

"I can. But I won't 'cause I don't want to."

"Tell me what you want." What I want?

"Would you quit being a royal guard?" I knew I won't get to hear the answer I want though.

"Blaze!" I walked off. He can't convince me.
