Rachel and I turn to face each other, as if our minds were synced up with the others saying, "This can't be a coincidence."
I proceed to hide behind the wall facing the front door and Rachel proceeds to walk towards the door as the knock repeats against it. She grabs her service pistol at her side before eyeing through the peep hole to attempt to gain some awareness before opening the door. Letting out a small chuckle and moving her hand from her sidearm to the door, she opens it. Peeking around the corner I see a man in distinguished attire.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Rachel lets out.
"To see my beautiful daughter, of course. I was in the neighborhood and wanted to stop by and see how you have been doing." he said.
What kind of nonsense timing is this. I sneak back into the bedroom and hide myself away in the closet. I can't have someone else knowing about me; I have to keep a low profile. Frankly, I can't trust anyone. I focus my attention back to the board that I face, as I won't be coming out until Rachel's father leaves. Reviewing all of the information on the board, I attempt to come up with some semblance of a plan, as now, I have none. How do I even go about investigating The Organization now that I know it is has such power and control? Maybe I should reconcile things with Kel and the others? I want to know if Amanda is okay, too. I left before even seeing if she was really okay.
How long will I be in here? May as well work on attack magic. I visualize the magic in my body. There has to be a way to manifest the magic. I gather the magic into my hands and push them to my finger tips.
Remember, Intentions.
I clasp my hand together and connect my magic across my fingers before pulling them apart.
Yes.
It worked. I could see the magic being entangled together. I then proceed to ball up the magic, rolling it in on itself. Now what do I do?
I attempt to release the energy away from my body and like a slingshot, it bounds away and slams into the wall creating a shockwave.
Fuck.
Moments later, Rachel flings the door open. "What the hell was that? Was that...?" Looking at the opposite side of the closet, she spots the damage done by my little experiment: a large hole in the wall.
Hands still in front of me, I stammer, "umm...I...yeah, I was trying something I've been trying to do, and I didn't think about what would happen. Your dad, did he..?"
"He just left, but I have some bad news. See, my dad is the police chief. He didn't just happen to be by and wanted to see me, he came to inform me that he got a memo instructing him to put me on leave."
"You think The Organization has something to do with that? How much do you think they know?"
Rachel confused, shakes her head, "I don't know, I made sure that no one knew what I was doing."
Like an aha moment, I chime in, "It's me. They must be tracking me. I came to you, and now they are blocking you from being able to help me."
Rachel, with a smirk, "Like me being on leave is going to hinder us? Hell, This will make things easier."
Nodding, "In that case Rachel, I have some people I want to introduce you to."
Leaving her apartment, I cast my magic sense spell. Scanning the area, there is no one here. Perhaps they left? I hold the magic as I direct Rachel to the warehouse, making sure that no one is actually following us, surprisingly, none are.
I pound on the door of the warehouse, as knowing them, I don't want to just simply enter the warehouse without them knowing I'm here. I did basically abandon them so, them being on edge and distrusting of me would be, well, understandable.
As I begin to pound on the door, it gives way. The door creaks open to the sight of darkness. No one appears to be here. I enter through the doorway with Rachel in tow, who surveying the situation and my reaction has her pistol and flashlight out, ready for whatever may be lurking. Bursting my pulse of magic, I don't sense anyone....except..."Amanda!" Rushing to the door of the room I slept in when here, I turn to the chest, and I find Amanda hiding within it.
"Amanda, what happened?"
With a crack in her voice, she looks up at me through tears and says, "They took them, They're gone."
