Thanks for not Giving Pt. 1

Kai yawned, opening his eyes to a dimly lit room, the sun had yet to come up yet, but was on its way. Stretching a bit, Kai rolled over to see Jinn lying awake, so he placed his arm over him cuddling closer.

"Can't sleep?", Kai asked.

Letting out a sigh first, Jinn spoke, "not really."

"Are you that worried about going to your parents house?", Kai asked.

"Yes and no, but that's not what's bothering me.", Jinn responded.

Kai let go of Jinn, leaning up on one arm. "Listen Jinn, you've been sort of moody all week. I've been patient, and I've been supportive, but you're starting to drive me nuts. Have I done something? If I have, please tell me how I can fix it!", said Kai worry swirling in his brown eyes.

Jinn sat up, cupping one hand around the back of Kai's head and the other around his back, pulling him close. "No baby you haven't done anything. I'm sorry if I made you worry, but I promise I'll talk about it when I'm ready, okay? Now go back to sleep, it's gonna be a long day." said Jinn letting go of Kai, the two staring each other in the eye.

Although Kai was still a bit uneasy, he simply nodded. As Jinn said, he would only talk when he was ready, there was no point in wrecking his brain about it. Laying back down with his back to Kai, Jinn grabbed Kai's arm, putting it over his abdomen and without hesitation Kai complied, cuddling Jinn deep into his chest. Kissing Jinn's back, Kai closed his eyes, soon falling back to sleep.

When Kai awoke, he was clutching nothing but a comforter, making a sour face he sat up looking around the room to see that Jinn was nowhere in sight. Letting out a yawn and cracking his back, Kai reached for his phone to see a few text messages, one from Jinn, letting Kai know he was stepping out and that he didn't want to wake him and the other two were from Saya and Dana wishing him a Happy Thanksgiving. Falling backward onto his bed, Kai sighed, puffing his cheeks out and letting the air out slowly. He had no idea what was bothering Jinn, but he had a hunch that spending Thanksgiving with the Wilkins was most likely a factor, heck, he didn't know if he himself was ready to handle it.

Kai rolled his eyes, deciding not to think about it any further, after all it was him who had convinced Jinn to go anyway and if he decided not to go Jinn would most likely stay home with him. Finally getting out of bed, Kai took a quick shower, throwing on some shorts, remaining topless and began cleaning to pass some time.

As Kai was vacuuming in walked Jinn to see Kai's fit, but slender body exposed. Closing the door with a smirk, he walked over, placing the bag he was holding onto the coffee table and wrapping his arms around Kai, startling him.

"Holy shit!", Kai jumped, spinning around as he hadn't heard Jinn come in over the sound of the vacuum.

Jinn let out a chuckle, "Sorry babe, couldn't help myself.", he responded, pulling Kai close and kissing him on the forehead.

"Whatever.", Kai rolled his eyes, pulling himself away from Jinn to turn off the vacuum. "Where've you been all morning?"

"Shopping.", said Jinn picking up the bag he had placed on the coffee table, he handed it to Kai and made his way into the kitchen. Following behind Jinn, Kai reached into the bag and pulling out the two pies that were inside and placing them on the counter.

"You've been shopping all morning for pie?", Kai said with a smirk.

Grabbing a water bottle out of the fridge and opening it, Jinn turned around taking a gulp before responding, "That is cheesecake babe. My Mom likes the bakery here and every year she asks me to bring two with me to dinner. They're always busy on holidays, I honestly should have went yesterday."

"Ah. I see, I'm gonna have to taste this cheesecake.", said Kai placing them back into the bag, but as he looked up Jinn had quickly placed himself in front of Kai, pulling him close.

"If you don't go put some clothes on, I'm afraid we won't make it to dinner.", said Jinn leaning down to kiss Kai, but Kai smirked, placing his index finger against Jinn's lips.

"Then you better not provoke yourself further love.", said Kai pulling himself away and leaving out of the kitchen.

Jinn pouted, but it soon turned into a smirk as he watched his lover walk away, those strong calves and pigeon-toed feet were too cute.

An hour had passed, Kai dressed himself in all black, a black button up and his regular slim fitting slacks, Mrs. Wilkins had requested everyone dress for the occasion. After smoothing his hair into a low bun and a few sprays of cologne, he was ready to go. Walking out into the living room, dressed in a white button up and black slacks, Jinn was sitting on the couch leaning forward, staring off into space. When he heard the sound of Kai's dress shoes, he turned to look his direction and a smirk formed on his serious face.

"Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes.", said Jinn standing.

Kai smiled, squinting his eyes, "ready?", he asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be.", said Jinn rolling his eyes, grabbing the cheesecakes, and making his way toward the door with Kai following behind.

After about a forty-five min drive, the two made it to the Wilkins home, the house shinning bright like every light in the house was on.

"…" Nervously, Kai raised both brows and sighed, the last time they were here things didn't go so well and they had left in a hurry.

"You okay?" said Jinn, seeing the look on Kai's face.

"Yeah I'm fine babe." said Kai leaning back on the car and closing his eyes for a moment. Jinn walked around the car wrapping his arms around Kai, "We don't have to go in babe, I'd be totally fine spending it with just the two of us."

Kai looked up at Jinn, those bright blue eyes, giving undivided attention and he couldn't help, but to smirk at his gorgeous lover. Reaching his hands to straighten Jinn's collar Kai stood on his tiptoes to kiss Jinn, "We're here, we might as well stay for a bit, besides I can handle anything with you by my side." Hearing those words, Jinn couldn't help but to smile, his dimples present as always. Letting go of his lover, Jinn reached out his hand, offering it to Kai, "Shall we go?", he asked being quite the gentleman. With a smile Kai accepted Jinn's large warm hand and the two made their way to the house. With a deep breath, Jinn let go of Kai's hand and knocked.

After a few seconds, the door finally opened and standing in a plum colored suite with a smile that would most certainly give away the fact that Jinn was her son was Mrs. Wilkins. Reaching out and pulling her son close, Mrs. Wilkins gave Jinn a big hug, staying like that for a while. Seeing this Kai lowered his head, allowing a small smile to grace his face. As he thought, this was simply a case of a Mother who had lost the bond with her son, he could never stand in the way of that.

"Are you well?", Mrs. Wilkins asked, wiping her eyes.

"Yes, I'm fine Mom." Said Jinn, giving his Mother a smile. Patting his shoulder Mrs. Wilkins gave Jinn a nod, taking the cheesecakes, and going back into the house. Turning toward Kai as they walked into the house Jinn sighed silently, but Kai simply flagged him off, it didn't matter if she didn't speak to him.

As they walked in, the house felt even warmer than before, the house had been decorated with fall colors and the furniture had been draped with fall themed throw blankets. As nervous as Kai was, he sucked it up, taking a deep breath and exhaled.

"Kai!", a voice called out and Kai turned around to see Jenna running over in a black dress and six-inch heels.

"Good to see ya.", said Kai letting out a giggle as Jenna hugged him, squeezing him tight.

"Well gee, am I invisible?", said Jinn with a smirk and Jenna let go of Kai to punch her brother in the arm, "oh hush, we just video chatted like two days ago.", she laughed hugging Jinn.

"Son!", said a familiar voice, it was Mr. Wilkins reaching out to hug his son. Squeezing Jinn tight, Mr. Wilkins turned to Kai, "Nice to see you again Kai, thank you for convincing him to come.", said Mr. Wilkins, and Kai smiled, but Jinn rolled his eyes, why did his Father know him so well?

Mingling in the living room, everyone sat talking and giggling except for Art who was in the kitchen finishing up dinner with Mrs. Wilkins.

"Dinner is served everyone.", said a familiar voice coming up behind everyone. Jinn and Kai stood to see Art standing there with a smirk on his face, "Little brother.", he said nodding and going back into the dining room.

Everyone made their way to the dining room and had a seat, the table full of Thanksgiving food and the tablecloth decorated with autumn leaves, the china a dark reddish color. Sitting in the same seats they had sat in before; everyone was finally seated. Mr. Wilkins said grace, and everyone began to dig in.

"So, Kai, what have you been up to, how's life treating you?" asked Mr. Wilkins.

"Oh, it's fine, I'm hanging in there.", Kai said with a smile.

"And work? It's not becoming too much with working together and living together is it?" said Mr. Wilkins and Jinn snapped his eyes at his Father, there was no need to bring up such things in front of his Mother at a time like this.

"Uh no, it's fine, same as always.", said Kai smiling awkwardly and eyeing Jinn momentarily who was shaking his head.

Clearing her throat, Mrs. Wilkins spoke, "Now that I'm aware that you too are living together tell me Kai, are you up for the tasks of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my son in every possible way?"

Everyone had gone silent at the table for a moment and all eyes were on Mrs. Wilkins as she glared at Kai. "Mom don..", Jinn began to say, but Mrs. Wilkins cut him off.

"I simply want to hear what he says, that is all Jinn.", said Mrs. Wilkins and Jinn sighed heavily, his brows furrowed.

"I th…think I'm doing a pretty good job.", Kai stuttered.

"Why don't we change the subje…", Mr. Wilkins cut in, but his wife spoke over him.

"You think? Can you really make my son happy? Can you give him children and keep up with your career at the same time? You quit Art's project because you had irresponsibly broken your hand, where is your work ethic? Do you not wish to better your career?

"Mom!" Jinn glared at his Mother warning her to stop.

"I want to know if he's good enough for...", Mrs. Wilkins began to say, but Jinn cut her off.

"He makes me happy, he's good enough dammit! Good enough that, that same foreign businessman he worked with months ago has invited him to work in Japan!", Jinn blurted out.

Eyeing Jinn who was fuming at the seams, Kai stared with wide eyes, his face quite confused not knowing what to say.
