Chapter 10: Getting Ready for the Ball

Charles smiled when I said that the dress was exceptional and even know I knew I was being deride, he still didn't show any sign of being disappointed or angry with me at all. It made my respect bar for him raise higher and even to the point where,I started to wonder what was going on in his mind.

I mean if I was him and I spent hours busting my rum for a snobby rich person and they said my work was just "exceptional" I would be furious.

But then again I wouldn't actually know if the rich person was actually snobby and I wouldn't know what they were going through.

That's why I think that the only reason Charles is not saying anything is because he either feels sorry for me or because of the status I have.

I stared at Charles with curiosity and I was just about to say something until he was rudely pushed over by some of my personal makeup and hair artists.

"Oh are you the new Seamstress? Charles Dickson?!" One of the ladies asked as Charles calming took a sigh and nodded, "Yes I am madam, is there anything I can do for you? Or was I perhaps called by Lady Acres?"

I studied his face for a look of anger or resentment but all that sat was a neutral tone, that I couldn't decipher. I felt even more curious about Charles now wondering about his character and what makes him tik. Wondering how he is so calm and how he doesn't get irritated so easily..

I guess he had practice, practice that I want to learn from and develop in myself. So I can be better as a person and learn how to deal with irritating people.

When I looked back up at Charles he was gone from my view and I was in a satin chair getting my face and hair done. I talked so much in my head, that I didn't even realize I miss the conversation between the makeup artist and Charles. I bet it was very neutral conversation, at least I think that's how the mood was.

I looked up at the mirror seeing half of my face covered in nude makeup. The colors matching my skin and a bit with my dress.

When I looked up at my hair, it seemed to be being done in a chignon or a fancy hair bun. It was very typical of them actual and I was wasn't surprise. My hair was usually done in a chignon or half of a chignon and then the rest of my hair down.

It all depended on what my parents wanted, it was never my choice really and probably won't be until I leave this place..
