Trust Issues...

Emma opened her eyes suddenly, she had been sleeping on the sofa in the hall of their house. As she sat straight her back of the neck pained cause she had slept all night while sitting.

She doesn't remember when she fell asleep while crying all night. Last day was a bit hectic since evening and as night came, it became even awful. She was about to stand up to go to her room when her father came out of his room, heading outside.

"Dad!" She exclaimed to stop him.

Her father stopped but he didn't turn around,

"Dad last night..." She paused in between.

"Make it quick I have to go." His cold voice was now making Emma feel more guilty.

"Last night was my fault, I- I shouldn't have said anything to him." Emma's voice was low and so were her eyes looking down on the floor.

There was a silence for a short period after which Emma's dad sighed lightly and said,

"No, it was my fault. I gave you two too much importance than I should've."

And he walked out leaving Emma in tears...

"Sorry, dad." She barely whispered and sat down on the floor.

The incident which took place last night made everyone shed tears. It wasn't anyone's fault not of Emma's or Jeremy's or their father's, it was just that everyone was correct but wrong at the same time...

Last Night...

"Jeremy!" Emma yelled as soon as she let herself in.

"Jeremy come out!" She yelled again.

He came out of his room casually in the hall,

"Why are you yelling like-"

A slap interrupted him. His eyes went wide as he hadn't expected this to happen. He looked up at Emma his eyes burning while Emma was also no harmless today.

"What are you doing now?!" He yelled at her with even more loudness.

"Don't you think you deserve this?"

"Why?!" He yelled again.

"After what you did you think I need to answer that?!"

"What on earth did I do to make you slap me?!"

They both were yelling at each other making the whole house shake. Emma's eyes were dripping of hatred towards Jeremy.

"I knew that you- you're selfish and don't care what others feel but- Since when? Since when did you become so low living and shameless, Jeremy?" Emma said again but this time her voice a bit low.

She wasn't able to believe that Jeremy was the one who told Mel about Sam. Who spread the rumour of Sam not being a straight guy.

"Are you out of your mind, do you even know what you're blabbering about? What selfish and shamel-"

"Shut up!" She yelled once again.

"Wasn't it you who told Mel about Sam's condition?" She said.

"Condition?" Jeremy whispered while his brows furrowed.

"How could you make fun of someone's weakness? Do You even know what has exactly happened to him?"

"What condition? What are you talking about?"

"Don't you think you're taking it too far? You want me to believe that you didn't know that Sam has hocd Uh?!" She said raising her voice again.

"Hocd? Wait no, I don't even know what's th-"

She was about to slap him again when someone interrupted in between.

"Emma!"

They both looked at their father who is standing at the threshold of the house. His eyes showed anger against Emma.

"Who do you think you are to slap him up like that?" and he stepped in towards them.

"But dad-"

"Shut up!"

"Why you always blame him for everything that happens around you?!"

"I had told you to behave properly with him and you-"

He raised his hand as if to hit Emma when suddenly Jeremy took her side and held his dad's hand.

"Stop it, dad!"

"Jeremy!" His father exclaimed in a low voice.

"Till when you'll scold Emma for something I did!"

"Don't you get tired of it dad?" He continued.

"Why can't you leave us alone? Why can't you behave like you used to do earlier? Why can't you just ignore us? Don't try to behave like our dad when you don't want to."

"All these times I was silent but I don't think I can bear this anymore so stop it! Stop scolding her for me. Stop drawing a line of difference between her and me!"

Emma looked at Jeremy as he kept yelling at their dad with widened eyes. In her frame of mind, it was quite unsettling that Jeremy was yelling at dad for her even if he was taking his side.

While on the other side their dad was looking at Jeremy with a bit of confusion and disappointment he had towards Jeremy.

"And you!" Jeremy yelled again looking at Emma.

"Though it isn't me who spread the rumour, I'll still accept that fact cause you won't believe me even if I make myself die."

"Jerem-" Emma tried to speak.

"And I'll also thank that woman who told you all this cause whatever her purpose was she showed me how deep trust issues my sister has towards me!"

He ended while he emphasised the words, me and my while speaking. He rushed towards his room banging the door behind him while Emma looked at him who had left just now.

After a second her dad went to his room too and closed his door slowly behind him while Emma stayed in the hall. She felt guilty after thinking that she got influenced by an outsider rather than asking her own brother about what the reality was.

"He didn't even know about him." She whispered as she sat down on the sofa thinking about how Jeremy was unaware of Sam's situation and Emma slapped him without knowing the whole truth.

Here inside the room, Jeremy closed his eyes as he laid on his bed. He was panting a bit as he had never been so angry but after taking sometime he eventually fell asleep.

Meanwhile in the room just right next to Jeremy's his father wasn't asleep. He sat beside the side table near his bed. After staring at a small photo frame of her wife he wiped his eyes and let out his feelings,

"I failed today, Eva. You'd always told me to leave them alone, that they'll seek it out themselves and I always opposed you. I- I always thought that if I'll try then maybe they'll make it up more quickly."

He took a deep breath and looked at his wife's photo.

"I...should've listened to you. I should've left them alone, cause what I saw today wasn't something I should've."

And after saying this he kept his head on the side table just in front of his wife's photo frame and sobbed deeply and quietly.

In his deep sobs, he whispered,

"I wish they had never met the son of carters..."
