Chapter 19: Summoning Class (3)

Nelson Dane was feeling annoyed with the subject assigned to him. And he is furthermore irritated with the quality of students he has to teach. So much that his spectacled brown eyes show all his current feelings.

Not that he is boasting, but him teaching these kids is a great boon to them. He is after all a man with great achievements in the field of summoning. So he is confident to guide these children to be greater compared to the rest of their age group.

But really these children are too weak for his standards.

He purposely made the students stay in the room with the least instruction to see their characters too. If one has a distracted mind and petty heart, as a teacher he has to take notice of it to the latest he can. Those characteristics are dangerous in summoning a lifetime companion.

With ample preparations, he can slowly guide the child into a much more stable mindset. Not only for their own good but also for the rest of the school itself.

He could only write his observation over his notes. Thankfully the school has a unique way of identifying their students that doesn't need to actually meet them face to face to learn their names.

On their uniform, which is by the way only issued by the school, have some special characteristic in its fabric and threads. Each set of uniform is embedded with a spell that is only known by the school. It's a recognition spell that shows the basic information of its wearer.

If a teacher seems their students worthy of being recognized, their positions in their class will be shown plainly to the rest of the staff. It was the privilege of the class advisor to add those as they see it fit.

In times where there is an intruder, it's very impossible for them to hide as a student as this spell also acts as a second ID that only teaching staff can see. It also serves as a surveillance for the students, in case they try to do something stupid while being in campus. So one bad deed they do, regardless how meticulous one is on hiding their dirt, they are sure to truly reflect on their records in a detailed manner.

"Would you look at that? My class has not officially started but I'm already burdened with many problems." He remarked as he could only shallow his bitterness. He should have not applied for this job for this year." Still too young, but they already knew how to hurt others in such a nefarious way. Do I have to put a guidance counselor as an addition to my job? This will make them unable to make fine summons if this continues."

In history of summoning, there are plenty of tales about people with croak attitudes who brought forth scourge to the land. Their summons wrecked a city, plain some hills due to them being deeply influenced by their summoners. It mostly happened in the age of great witch hunts, all these mana users are under a huge drive to take revenge and spill their tormentors blood. Although understandable, up until now it's notorious reputation still linger.

But when a person with a good moral character the least, a helpful and beneficial summon was called. They are a very loyal and principled bunch most of the time, they would not hesitate to take initiative to protect their summoners and their summoners interest. Some even choose to self denote for the good of their summoners. Therefore the best companion in life.

With that much history in their field, although beneficial to the Mana users, summoning is a rare subject to be included in the curriculum. In fact, due to how hard it was to gain license to teach this discipline in the whole city only Ec1 Comprehensive Junior High offers this. And this knowledge is only known to their official students as to protect all involved in the said class.

Due to the aforementioned reasons, summoners are feared and respected . Therefore for each person who wants to learn, they need to be strictly monitored. And their teacher had to be well averse enough both mental stability and technical skill of the field in order to safely teach their students.

"mmm... that Porter is a little troublesome." Nelson murmured as he planned the boy's personal lessons. His subject requires him to do so, because of legit reasons. "Why the hell did Rebecca choose such a problematic person to lead a class? Isn't she afraid to make her own advisory become a den of snakes where you can't trust someone?"

After noting more competitive students who are not as malicious as the Porter boy. He took notice of the peculiar group at the side; they relaxed and easily went in his eyes.

"Though those three are an okaay...." He continued to plot out his lesson plan. "Let's see Dynes, Phines, and Jones huh....they can have an off handed type of lesson....."

"Their characters are mild, so they are probably easier to teach." He finished writing their character assessment. "For the rest, they are very easy to be led by the nose. I have to coordinate this to the rest of the teachers to mend."

"Now their constitutions and Mana capacity is left." He murmured.

With considerations, he added more pressure on the unaware students. He wants this class to end early to finalized his teaching strategies, the school's upper management needs to review it before he can implement them.

As the man continued his assessment, the students on the other side are now sweating heavily. All of them are feeling even worse than they initially felt.

They are all asking why they feel that their very being is very heavy. It was only a little hard before, but this time they really feel the difference.

Leila was paying great attention to these changes. She needs to make sure that she adjusted accordingly to the changes around her. Their teacher needs to see that she is working hard, even though this test is only a walk in the park for her.

She thinks that their teacher might be feeling impatient with everything, the changes are too fast. But not as fast as that Aljur person from before. That man was just purely insane.

She looked into the faces of her classmates. Most of them are already pale faced and ready to fall down. Then her two friends who didn't mind the changes and continues to compete with each other, though their breathing is heavier than before they can persist for long. They afterall bear more pressure administered by her specially.

She adjusted her appearance to match her friends. Her face was slowly being covered in sweat and her breathing was also gradually turning labored. That should be enough for a while.

Unlike the three who minded their own business, Finley was struggling very hard. He didn't know that his pressure had increased by ⅛ percent, but he knew he cannot let himself be like this.

There were reasons why he was always number one in all his life. One of those reasons was his family. Although not as high up in the prominent families, it was enough to let him enjoy various resources that ordinary people seldomly have. And second he is simply gifted. He never had truly struggled, if he did encounter something that will stumble his path those obstacles are destroyed to make his life smooth.

He took his mind off the hate he is feeling and focused to pass this whatever test their teacher didn't bother giving them a heads up. One day he'll return the favor at least twice.

Poor teacher who was only doing his best to perform his duty is being wrong with this indiscriminate hatred. He had no idea about it for now. But some time in the future he will know of it and the man could only bitterly laugh over such undeserving hate on himself.

"I'll show them that I will be the best." He murmured deep in his heart. Very unwilling to be left behind with these classes of his who were not that fortunate as him.

Taking a deep breath he entered a trance. The world is now silent and peaceful, he can no longer feel the pressure of his being.

Both Leila and their teacher were impressed with the boy's accomplishment to shake off his burdens and concentrate only on himself. But at the same time, they are disappointed with the forceful way it was triggered. It will backfire in the future.

To Leila this just shows how deep this guy holds grudges. While to the teacher it shows how dangerous the potential summon the boy will have. The two who have yet to officially encounter each other know that they have to prepare adequately for the actual practice.

Nelson looked around for more details about the students before calling it a day. He can not have them faint and all, his paycheck might decrease if he overdone himself in this test. So he relieved the children from the pressure and met them face to face. He probably had scared them enough, but he had to let them know of his motives somehow.

"I hate my job." He said as he turned to go to the next room. All too ready to receive the hate of this class.
