As she had now had a clear goal to reach, Leila became more mindful of how she should approach all her classmates. As much as she wanted to build a strong and long lasting bond with them, such things can only be done slowly and not urgently. Should she hasten this step, who knows one of them will be stabbing her in the back. She cannot risk it as of yet.
So for now, she will find some suitable circumstances to integrate herself in each and everyone's school life one way or another. Though if she let Khelly loose it is not a matter to worry about. But she is still not trusting enough to entrust her girl to these people.
As she had decided, she will start to be the one who gave her the idea. If she remembers her right, the guy's name is Ryan Bill. He does well on most subjects and has some good friends in the class. And the thing that made Leila really eager to start with the guy is that he had a rather mild temperament, he is easy to influence if she played her cards well.
The chance that she is waiting was already in sight even before she wrecked her brain to find one.
Half an hour before the end of their math period, Nelson, their teacher in Summoning Class, came over to their room. He looked gloomy and really unamused as he stepped in.
The students were surprised a little, but reacted fast enough to behave themselves. They immediately went to their seats and assumed the posture of a good student.
Khelly woke up Harvey on the way to her seat. Thankfully the boy woke up easily, if not how awkward would it be to face a teacher upon waking up.
"Class 1B." Nelson started as he saw the class now all ready to hear him out. "I'm here to announce that due to special circumstances your non magic related subjects will be compromised to give priority to your mastery in magic."
The students were in an uproar with the announcement. Some who are reliant on these subjects become worried while others are excited to brush their Magics. Some can't just stop themselves whispering and all. In short, the class became once again noisy.
Nelson cleared his throat to get the students' attention, but they are very immersed with their talks. It made him mad and angry, but he promised not to do anything drastic to any of the students. So he waited for them to calm down. But his presence is not really that great to the class, given that every time his subject comes over, they rarely see him. Furthermore in his class they also had a hard time being inside the venue. So quite unsurprising.
No matter how justified their non-respectful treatment of their teacher, it's an insult for Nelson. But he really doesn't have the time and patience to deal with this. It's already enough that the administration is already breathing on his neck, he really cannot afford to pay extra attention than what is already tasked on him.
If it wasn't for the announcement that only the specialized subjects teachers will get to tell about it to their respected students, he won't want to see these ungrateful bunch. Though there are some students he quite likes on these rascals, it wouldn't salvage the bad impressions the class had in his mind. Unexpectedly, the two parties have the same opinion in regards to one another.
Fishing out his phone, he sent a message to Rebecca to furthermore discuss the matter to her advisory. The children are just asking for it, and it's already a well known fact that their advisor knows no mercy. He especially put a note about them being unruly, it's a petty revenge but at least he got his revenge.
Just as he was preparing to go out to leave this mess for someone else, a hand was raised in the air. It was Ryan. He had some questions regarding the great changes in the school arrangements.
"Yes Mr. Bill?" Nelson asked.
"Sir Nelson, can we know why the class time for the non magic class was greatly reduced? No matter how I think about it, it seems unreasonable to suddenly have this announced and implemented." Ryan said in a matter of fact manner. Non magic subjects are a great percentage of his overall grades, if it was suddenly degraded like this how can he maintain his grades? He is not that great at magic after all.
The class quieted a little when they heard their fellow classmate ask this question. They are also curious, so they wanted to hear why too.
"Good question." Nelson commented quite pleased with the concise and direct question. Though he will disappoint the boy, he cannot answer as much detail he might like.
"It's the higher ups' decision. Not much I can say about it. But I'll give you a hint. There is an important event in the coming month that is related to this reduction of class hours."
Ryan only nodded and kept his mouth shut after that. He minded not to ask more questions, their teacher can no longer answer anyway more than what was already said. Furthermore, on what basis does he have to question the higher ups? He is merely a student not someone important to make a change to this announcement.
Seeing that no one is raising another question, Nelson went out. Though he before he did go out, he said a surprise blow to his students.
"Oh by the way, before you get into my class later you have to be in a group of 5. If not I'll have the one without a group alone in our room alone there until the end of our time." With that he simply went out with an acceleration spell. Totally not giving a chance for the students to question him about his instructions.
Some students who didn't have the best tempers threw some curses and some acted immediately to have the best group mates for the subject. Who knows what their first group activity in that teacher's class will be. It's better to have the one with most capabilities to their side.
Realizing that most of the omnipotent kids of the class are almost snatched up, the rest then went and made their own groups. Other than those who deliberately grouped for the sake of good members, most of the groups are made up of friends.
Leila, Khelly and Harvey without any doubt is a group. They wouldn't have to deal with others if they can help it for now, but Leila was quite pleased with the situation. She can slowly start her plan.
Harvey was not really fully awake and the contents of the announcements were not registered in his brain. If he was, he would be the one with the most colorful words in cursing their teacher. With his condition, Leila and Khelly made the initiative to go near him.
Khelly, as fearless as she always was, woke the other fully by making a ruckus that Harvey cannot stop himself from making a comment. After a few rounds of exchange of words, the boy was then retold about the series of events prior to his period of inattentiveness.
And as expected the boy was hurling words that are not suitable for anyone younger than 14.
After a moment, the boy finally calmed down. Leila gave him a bottle of water to moisten his throat.
"So what now?" Harvey said as he took a sip of water. "Who will be an addition to our group?"
"I'm fine with anyone." Khelly said as she found herself excited for the upcoming exercises or activity they will have. Practicals are her specialties, so she's hoping that it will be a hands on one.
"Well not like we have a choice of who to add." Harvey said as he noticed that most people are already group. "We're stuck with those who weren't able to have one."
"Like you did with Jessica." Khelly said as she remembered mocking the green eyed boy being without a partner.
"Only this time you're part of the incomplete group." Harvey said with a bite.
Khelly was a little tempted to retort, but controlled herself last minute. They wouldn't have time to discuss what they should be doing if they kept on fighting.
So the blond turned her attention to the black haired girl beside them. Strangely the girl's eyes were not at them. She was looking at the students who are most likely to be grouped with them.
"You had something for them?" Harvey asked as he remembered seeing that look before in the black haired girl's eyes before. He was a target of it before.
"I have some. Will you guys play along?" Leila said, not explaining herself.
"It's not harmful to us?" Harvey probed.
"No. It will help you in the future." Leila said as she made sure that her plans will benefit the two more than just helping her hide her peculiarities.
"Then I'll let it be." Harvey assisted.
"Thank you." Leila expressed her gratitude as she made a formula for their groups addition and how she will retain relations with each other. But first things first, she has to make them get near them.
And she's not letting them go until she's satisfied with their growth.
