In a huge backyard in the middle of a valley, six individuals appeared out of thin air. Five of them are children ages ranging 13-14 years old. All of them wearing a school uniform that consisted of blue color schemes.
The remaining one is an adult. Wearing formal attire and a strict expression on her face, she appraised their surroundings.
One of them crouched to the side. Seemingly dizzy and a moment later puked out. The guy found himself not liking teleportation and thought of he's like this on the way back, he might as well take a long trip home even if it means missing some classes and gaining his mother's wrath.
But even if he voices it out, he is sure will not be able to implement such a plan at all. One is that he is sure that their teacher will not allow it. And the other is that one of their members is sure not to use any method to bring all her members back with her. The boy is sure that the latter will not hesitate to knock him out to make it possible.
A short haired girl came near the pale faced boy and offered him a towel to wipe himself with. It's to be prepared for personal use, but instead of using it she offered it out. She didn't react as she had expected after all.
"Thanks." Ryan said as he made himself presentable as he can. His legs are soft from the weightless sensation of their travel.
"You're welcome." Sophie said as she helped the boy up. She also felt a little weak but bearable. "You should really train yourself after this trip."
"Yeah I really should." Ryan said as he took a look over the trio who are now minding their businesses. He really thought that they are monsters for not feeling anything.
Leila accessed everyone of their condition. Out of everyone, Ryan was the only one who had some after effects with teleportation. Not that it's bad per se, most people had this reaction on their first use. So she's not that worried about him.
But this brought up her plans to be modified. She wanted to have strong people around her to be not too noticeable and Ryan definitely has to improve his constitution for that to be possible. If he continues to be this delicate, has to slowly build him up from the very foundation of his.
Ryan felt a shiver in his spine. He felt bad, but dismissed it as something an aftereffect of the teleportation.
Sophie on the other hand was a little stronger than she anticipated. The girl was often silent and didn't stand out much. She wasn't even active most of the time, so Leila wasn't able to make a concrete evaluation about the girl.
On this trip, she surprisingly isn't too weak, constitution-wise. Leila deemed her fine and only needed to find the path she wanted to take.
On her old friends, Leila was not really worried about them. Khelly was always the one with the best body and Harvey experienced various things growing up. So something this much will not affect them the slightest.
Their arrival had made the Mana around them wild and confused. But moments later, upon feeling a familiar presence they all calmed down and put them all under their protection as they were originally asked with.
"Welcome to you all." A young woman's voice called upon their attention.
"Grandma." Leila said as she nodded in her grandparent's direction.
The rest managed to react on time, suprised or not with how young looking the other was, they had to show at least some respect to the owner of their trip's property.
Grandma Rodeo was happy with their arrival. She was missing her granddaughter for a while now. When she heard the child's request she immediately gave her permission to allow them to stay with their residence.
Without much further ado, she guided them to their humble Manor. Her husband was waiting for them inside. Setting the table and all for their guests.
Grandma Rodeo prepared a feast for them, making them feel at home and welcome in her home. They had some small talks and fun for a while before being taken to their room for their whole stay.
The children were tried( Ryan was in fact the only one, he is still a little pale after all that vomiting), so they opt to rest before officially starting their training. One of them slept and another one decided to sort out their things. Sophie was feeling a little OCD today and was satisfied with how they placed them.
The other two were with more energy proposed to look around. They didn't want to deal with their luggage again and were curious about their surroundings. Leila offered to guide them along, after asking for understanding from Sophie.
The girl was fine with it and allowed them to go. She felt it's better that she do it alone than having them mess around. She'll just feel more irritated if that indeed happens.
As the children were having their fun, Rebecca sought company to the elders of this residence. She had questions and she hoped to be answered by them. After all with what she perceives, the pair could provide her what she is looking for.
She didn't mind the children much for now. They haven't started yet. And they are in a safe place as far as she could see, so she's not worried at all.
Back to the children. They are currently on the terrace on the second floor of the manor. They were amazed with the view it provided over the whole Valley.
The sky was tainted orange as the sun was starting to set. It provided a great view to where they
are.
"Is that where we will be training?" Khelly asked as she pointed at a lake ahead.
There are three lakes in the valley and the girl was pointing the nearest one to where they are.
Leila nodded in affirmation. It's indeed where they are arranged to go. Out of the rest of the valley, it's the best place for them all. It hosted some challenging beasts for them and can provide them enough urgency to have a genuine wildlife experience.
"Well it's a good choice." Harvey said as he assessed that it is indeed the best place to where they should be. Especially with a party like them who are mixed with people who have no experience in this type of thing. It makes him excited to let loose a little tomorrow.
"Well I had to make sure that everyone will have the optimal experience after all." Leila said as she had her gaze in the farthest lake in the distance. That place is where her grandparents first trained her. Her classmates cannot tackle that place yet, so she chose the most suitable for them despite her desire to train them. It's not just about her after all.
"Hey Leila do those lakes have names?" Khelly asked. She is just curious as she cannot just call them that lake and this lake all the time right?
"Well the farthest and the hardest was Laura, the one near the mountains was Lola and the biggest one that we will go to tomorrow is Luanne." Leila answered as she recalled the local names of the lakes.
"Why are they called as such?"
"There was a legend about them. They were three sisters all powerful and beautiful. In their time magic was not accepted and they were outcasts by everyone. The people in power of their time wanted to kill them for witchcraft, but each time they narrowly escaped. But no matter how much they run, they are bound to become tired at some point. Luanne was the youngest and the first one to die. Followed by Lola then finally Laura the oldest. Upon their death they placed a curse to the land to be rampaged by beasts and alike. Every year there is an annual beast tide, as if proving it's credibility. Legend has it that the place they were killed was the location of the lakes." Leila simply said what she recalled about the history of the names of the lakes. She felt it was missing some points, but she just dismissed it as something being lost in time with how old the story could have been.
"Are there a lot of beasts in there?" Khelly said as she felt said about the sisters. But I was more concerned about the beast mentioned. Most had some truth in them especially if they mentioned
old stories of the magic users of the past.
"Yes there are many beasts in the lakes. Worry not that Luanne's Lake was the safest of the three, we're relatively safe compared to other areas. Not to mention the yearly tide was three months away. So no dangerous beast around the area unless some unexpected situation will arise." Leila assures her.
Khelly was relieved hearing that and didn't ask something else again.
Khelly was enjoying the view and Harvey probed the details of the area. Leila entertained them to the best of her abilities before they were urged to rest early. They needed their energy more tomorrow.
