I LOVE YOU

Kate and Stella came back and announced that the dinner was ready and set on the table. They were about to get up and leave when Archie's voice came from the entrance of the living room,"I guess then, I'm on time." Amy whipped around and gave him a big smile. Archie came and stood beside her. He was wearing a sweatshirt and Jeans.

Amy whispered,"You came!" Archie replied sarcastically,"Well, looks like it." He chuckled then continued,"I had to. As grandpa said in his letter, I don't wanna whine about it later."

Amy giggled at that. Archie hugged his grandparents and mom, one by one and then they all went to the dining room. Frank sat at the head of the house place with Archie to his right and Kate to his left. Stella was sitting next to Kate and Amy, next to Archie. At a point of time when Frank was busy chatting with Kate and Stella about morning routines, Amy whispered to Archie,"You never told me about your elder brother, Nathan?" Archie gave her a confusing look and whispered back,"What elder brother? And I dont know about any Nathan!!" Amy said,"But grandpa told me that-". She was cut off by Archie who said aloud a little frustrated but still smiling,"Oh my god! Grandpa.. what have you told her?"

Amy looked down at her plate, feeling embarrassed. Archie said laughing out loud,"Dont be embarrassed Amy. I never had an elder brother. I am a single child. I told you to beware of his jokes." They all started laughing, catching on what he meant. Amy blushed a deep shape of red.

After the dinner Archie asked his mom,"Mom, why did dad not join us for dinner?" Stella replied in a sad tone,"I'm so sorry sweetheart, he was invited to dinner by one of his clients and it was very important to him but believe me, if he could have a slight chance for making it to the dinner, he would have." Archie said,"Yeah, ok. I understand." Amy and everybody else in the room noticed the disappointment and irritation in his voice but didn't comment on it.

It was now time for them to leave. Frank said,"I want to see my granddaughter-in-law more often from now on." Amy blushed profusely and Archie said, laughing,"Sure grandpa. We'll visit often but only when the intensity of your jokes decrease. No more elder brother, yeah ?" They all laughed at that. Stella came forward and hugged her saying,"It was such a pleasure to meet you Amy and if my husband said something to you earlier.. you know ... so please forgive him. He is a good man." Amy smiled and hugged her back lovingly,"No worries, Stella." Last Kate hugged her,"You really are an amazing woman Amy and I'm so glad and relived, Archie found you. Never ever leave him. He loves you a lot." Amy smiled and said,"Never granny. At least not in this life time." All of them smiled at each other and the couple left.

In the car Archie asked Amy,"So what do you think? Did you like them all?" Amy replied,"I loved them all. You have such a loving family Archie. All of them love you soo much." He said yeah and then Amy continued in a small voice,"Even your dad." Archie didn't reply to that.

They reached home and Archie went around the car to open the door for Amy.  Amy stepped out and hugged Archie tightly. For a second Archie was confused but then he hugged her back. Amy murmured,"Try and talk to your dad, yeah? It might help sort out your differences and ease the tension between you two." Archie smiled, placed a kiss on her head and said,"Yeah! Ok! I'll think about it." Amy replied,"That's all I want." They were still in the same position. A second later he said,"You know I love you right?"  Amy pulled back a little just enough to look in his eyes, then standing on tip-toes kissed Archie who gladly responded back and they got lost in the moment. When they broke the kiss, Amy grinned up at Archie and said,"Yeah, I know and I, you."
