Chapter 9: "I'm going", Tamika suddenly squealed

"I'm coming with you "

" Huh?"

" I said I'm coming with you "

The way she said it was like she was telling me not asking me.

" I don't know..."

" I'm not asking you"

" But I don't think you should since Rosie is kind of well...you know"

" I'll handle Rosie "

" O-okay then"

" When do we leave?"

" First thing tomorrow morning, its better always better to get an early start on things...Don't you think"

Well I don't know what I think not that she would care

Tamika stood up from the chair and slowly walked towards the doorway of the kitchen. From the way she was looking at the floor like she wished the floor would open and swallow her I bet she was going to Rosie to possibly BEG her to forgive her.

Before she walked out she turned around and whispered this so quietly that I almost didn't hear her

" If I don't make it out alive just know that my ghost will go with you to Cannington okay "

The smirk that grew over my face was like a lazy teacher's checkmark, the faded "red ink" stretching up into my dimple.

I heard a door open and shut, its creaking noise brought a chill to my spine.

Did I mention I hate Doors

My hate of doors started when I was ten and my mother had just kicked father out of the house again.

I was asleep. In the middle of the night, I woke up to the sound of a door creaking open. I thought it was my mom. So I went back to bed with a curious thought to what my mom would be doing going out in the middle of the night

The next day I woke up. Brushed my teeth, took a shower and started to walk downstairs for breakfast.

You see or dining table was very close to the stairs so I could see who was sitting down even from the stairs

I was so excited to see what mom made for breakfast but my smile turned upside down as soon as I saw who was sitting at the table beside my mother.

Yes you guessed right

ol' Daddy dearest

He charmed his way back into our lives

Sometimes I thought my own mother was a fool

If you looked in the dictionary you would find a fool defined as a person who acted unwisely

Mother acted unwisely in taking father back but I don't want to label her as a fool. Let's see...she was a... fool for... ol' daddy dearest.

That's the thing with doors you never know who is at the other side only if you open it. You never know who you let back in through the door.

My mother always let my father back in through that door in her heart and obviously the door she kicked him out of the house through.

After a while, I heard yelling coming from Rosie's room

Yikes that doesn't sound good

Soon the yelling subsided and all was calm

I heard the door open and then close with another haunting scream

Oh that wretched sound

I heard footsteps and soon Tamika was in the front of the doorway with a frown on her face

Well I guess somebody's having a bad day

" Well, it's okay you tri"

" I'm going! ", Tamika suddenly squealed with excitement
