The sound of the rain hitting my window woke me up. Opening my eyes I realized my room was still dark. It's not even morning. What the hell. I look over to my alarm clock and the bright red numbers told me it was 3:50am. Three more hours and I'll have to go to work.

I sat up from my bed and pulled my knees into my chest. Hugging them, I tilted my head towards the window. Watching the dark sky as it rains. The clouds covering the stars.

I wonder what the weather is like in New York? My curiosity has been running haywire since Ron told

me I should go back and "fight" for Saint. I'm not going back though. No matter how much I want to know what he's doing or if he misses me as much as I miss him right now.

But everything will be alright. I've been fine without him for a year. I can be fine forever. Even though the bed I have is made for two. Even if I'd love to have a body next to mine.

The time slowly ticked away as I sat on my bed. Millions of random thoughts running through my head. I cant concentrate on just one. I don't want too.

I lay back down slowly putting my head onto my pillow. Looking beside me at the other part of the bed. No dent, no mess, no one. It's empty and it always will be.

Slowly drifting off to sleep the last picture that enters my head was the bright lights of the city.

6:50 *alarm goes off*

"Shut uppp," I groan while slamming my hand onto the snooze button. I hop out of my bed and head to my chair where I laid out my uniform.

Black pants, a apron around my waist, and a beige shirt with the logo tucked it. It's simple and I thank the owner of the shop for that. It's not to much.

After putting on the clothes, I headed out the door and hopped into my car.

The drive to the coffee shop was short. Minimal traffic so it was a calm drive.

getting out of my car, I grab the keys to the shop. Looking up I notice a boy around my age.

"Well hello, the shop is just now opening. You can come in now." I smiled while unlocking the door. Letting the man inside.

He looked around the shop, "Hello, my name is James." James? Where have I heard that before? Eh probably everywhere it's a common name.

I go behind the register, "hi, my names Elizabeth," I smiled but not a huge one. A friendly one. "What could I get you?"

He looks up at the menu for not even a minute and tells me, "Could I get a black coffee. No creamer." Lord, how can someone drink that? It's so bitter.

"Okay.." I said as I turned around, starting to brew the coffee. It takes a couple of minutes so as I wait. I clean up the already spotless area. Why does this feel awkward?

"What time do you get off?" The voice startled me. Turning around James lifted his eyebrows up. "So? What time?"

Why does he want to know? "Um I get off at ten pm. Why?"

He looks around the shop and leans in. "I'll be back later. We need to talk."

He quickly turned around and left the shop. A quick breeze came in when he opened the door. That was weird. Should I be worried?

"You forgot your coffee..."
