The Meeting

This story is in first person ( I/me/my/I'm/etc. meaning Oliver )

I was woken up earlier than usual by one of the ladies whom had been helping me find a foster home, as well as keep me company. My days were pretty lonely seeming as there wasn't too many foster kids and they all were either too young or didn't have a care in the world about meeting new people. I sat up and looked her, Ms. Jenny, in the eyes before she was about to spill what she had on her mind.

Ms. Jenny quickly sat down when I was almost completely awake. "Okay, Oliver. I have some news. Pretty great news!" She said with excitement. I gave her a confused look as I sat in silence, waiting for her to spit it out already. "We found you another foster home! This one looks great too! I think your gonna lo-"

"Seriously.." I cut her off and shot her a glare before looking off and down to the ground. "You woke me up for that?! I don't care about that- what I do care for is my sleep!" I hissed and laid back down, her having to stand back up.

"They're already here. That's why I woke you. Please just try this- one last time?" She said with the softest and sweetest tone I've ever heard. I growled and stood to my feet. Her eyes widened a bit as she threw me a huge grin of joy. "Thank you Oliver! Thank you! They're gonna be so pleased!" She said cheerfully as she began to walk down the hall. Soon enough we reached the room where a middle aged couple was standing. Maybe about in they're late 20s or somewhere in they're 30s.

Once the door was opened the women waiting looked over at me and gave me a smile. "You must be Oliver!" She said excitedly. "I'm Hope Darnell!" She said as she poked the man next to her, still smiling wide. "Oh! My apologies! I'm Kris Darnell." The man said, pretty sure that was her husband. The women walked over to me and bent down on one knee. "Listen Oliver." She whispered. "Your going to love it with us. We wont put you through any pressure of course. Anything you need we are here..!" She continued to whisper, her voice giving me a hint of safety.

I nodded not knowing what to say or how to exactly respond to that statement. I rapped both of my arms around my stomach and stepped back from her a bit. "Well he really doesn't have anything here with him to bring with him, so I believe you three are all set to go!" Ms. Jenny stated as she gave them another huge smile. I walked over to her slowly, giving her a gently hug. "Oh Oliver. I'll miss you too brat!" She played and rubbed my head, messing my hair up.

I stepped back from her as we were guided out into a parking lot. I looked around, I was honestly going to miss this place. It had been awhile since I'd left, plus it didn't seem as if I was going to come back. The couple seemed way to well done for anything to possibly go wrong.

We finally reached home, I was shook by Mr. Darnell, him trying to wake me up. I was tired okay. I was woke up early and I stay up playing video games most of the night. "Oliver? Hey buddy we're here." He said calmingly. I squirmed before unbuckling. He quickly moved out of my way as I stumbled a bit at getting out of the car. "Ready?" He asked as his wife had already gone inside. I nodded before following him into their house.

I looked around, it was bigger than any house I'd ever seen. They must've been rich. No. They were rich. This was crazy. You never just see the sweet and rich combined. It's impossible. How. How did I get so lucky. I'm not money hungry for gods sake, just its, amazing! "So.. big house." I said simply. I heard Mr. Darnell chuckle as he shook his head, continuing to walk around the house.

"We're buys people, work hard, hard labor makes big pounds." He laughed, I couldn't help but giggle. He reached a huge staircase. And again he kept walking. I'm not good with stairs because I've never had to walk then, let alone so many. We finally reached a good sized room, filled with a ton of rich people stuff. "This will be you're room from now on!" He said with a smile as he turned back to face me.

My eyes widened as I looked around. "M-Mine!?" I exclaimed. He nodded and walked past me, stopped once he reached completely behind me. I tilted my head back to look at him.

"I hope you enjoy it here. I hope you stay. It would be nice having someone to keep this place around." He said softly before walking off.
