Chapter 5

Zac's POV

I laid her down on my bed when she held my neck and opened her eyes. A smile plastered across her pretty drunk face.

"Oh, you are here? Why did you come back?", She asked staring me in the eye. "Do you know how much I missed you? Well how would you know? You were busy with achieving your dreams to notice me", suddenly tears started forming in her eyes.

"Blanka--",I tried to speak up she cut me off, her hands yet around my neck and our faces few centimetres apart.

"Oh please! Zac, don't tell me you were so stupid to notice how much it hurt me when you left unannounced! I was almost diagnosed with anxiety and depression if it wasn't for my mom's countless efforts!", She spoke bitterly as tears started dropping more quickly.

"Heck! I almost gave up my dream if it wasn't for the need of --",she stopped and when I looked at her she was already asleep. "I'm sorry, I didn't know I put you through do much", I managed to speak before tucking her inside the blanket.

I turned to go when she unconsciously caught my hand. "I love you sooo much", she said in her sleep. "Who?", I asked not expecting any answer and I didn't get one either.

I sat on the couch pondering over what her words meant and whom they were directed to. Every now and then she kept cursing Raiener and saying how she hated him and how much of a douche he was.

I didn't know when I drifted off to sleep but I got up when I heard the vase break.

I could sense her annoyance from her text and I was pretty sure they must have gone mad when I didn't reply to any of their texts. They were so worried and I could sense it.

My office

"Well nice to finally see you Zac fucking Smirnoff!", I was greeted by an angry Riley who seemed like she could kill me any moment.

"I'm really sorry?", I said unsure whether my apology would be accepted and sure enough it was not.

"You have some explanations to do after screwing Blacks over", Caleb said giving me a fully organized file with his activities of past month.

"He thinks he can actually steal the Musgravite so easily?", Riley said in a mocking tone. She had every reason to be proud, after all she had been on countless successful missions alone.

{A/N: Musgravite:-- is an expensive stone worth nearly $35,000 per carat}

Next day

Hospital

"He was strictly warned not to use his arm and you went around shooting and fooling around and questioning our knowledge and experience?!", The doctor said harshly and scolded Zac who happens to have an injury on the same arm as before.

"Doc, I'm sorry", Zac said. He was the family doctor, his dad's best friend to be more specific. "Zac, you know it's not a joke to fool around like that, I don't have to tell you what happened to your dad right? He was just like you", the doctor said concerned and left the room.

"Mum, where's dad going again?", I asked innocently unaware of where my dad would go every now and then and leave mom and me alone.

"Dad will be back soon. Take care of Mum for Dad?", Dad said holding my tiny hands as he bent down to my level.

"Be safe honey", my mum said and gave him a goodbye kiss. Little did we know it was the last time we would see him alive....

Next day

"The one and only Smirnoff Inc. owner has died in a car accident", the reporter said and my mum was crying uncontrollably since she received a call this morning.

"Mum what's the reporter saying?", I asked not quite understanding what she meant by dead? Dad was coming back right?

RIGHT?

Days passed, months passed, seasons passed he never came back. Soon I realised what had happened.

Soon we were required to move to a smaller house since our company went bankrupt.

I started getting quite day by day and it became my aim to restore Smirnoff Inc. so I started preparing for it since I was 10. My mom taught me all she knew in my growing years.

I therefore, happened to be way too mature for people of my age and that's why I never really had friends until one day when I saw a girl being hit on and everyone watching it in amazement which I couldn't tolerate. Since I had done my trainings to fight I had managed to help her, she was no other than Riley Storm, the lost heir of Storm Inc.

We teamed up, I promised her revenge & power and in return she helped me and stay by my side.

Unlike all good days a day came when some people barged in our house and killed my mum, I managed to escape with Riley.

While the killers were behind us a boy about my age helped us to hide in one of the boats he owned and we were saved.

Unlike Riley Storm or me (Zac Smirnoff) his parents died because they couldn't pay off the debts and that's why they committed suicide.

He had been staying with his brother and learnt hacking since childhood but suddenly his brother went missing with only a note left behind saying he was sorry and he was just trying to keep him safe.

That's how we three became an inseparable team. We have been through hard times together.

It was going all well when I suddenly started falling in love, with..... Blanka Reziknov.

She came in my life at an unexpected time and I had to leave her. She didn't know anything about my parents she just assumed they stayed abroad and rarely came to visit me.

I then realized, I had promises to keep. And not long after that I left to go far from here to keep her safe, to keep everyone safe.

The only thing she didn't know was that the Dragons Inc. everyone keeps talking about..... He's the CEO and the establisher of that Company. The company wasn't only top in their country but was making great progress abroad as well.

About the promise, he had already full filled them. Zac Smirnoff, Riley Storm and Caleb Arnold were recognized as someone not to mess with. We were something inseparable, so much so that we were more than a family if possible.
