Chapter 2: First Gift

Almost immediately after walking into his house, there was suddenly a knock on the door, 'who could that be' he thought, as he was about to walk to his room. He then headed towards the door and there was a man who looked familiar, but he didn't know him. As nice as FengGe was he had let the man in after a brief greeting exchange, "Hello there Sir, how may I help you?" FengGe asked as he gestured him in. The man then replied "Hello maybe you can or maybe you have helped me already. My name is JiaYi and I was wondering if we could have a chat?" FengGe looked a little weary and was prepared to send him away but thought nothing of it at this moment, as he walked in slowly.

FengGe was still trying to figure him out and kept staring at JiaYi and also wondering why he looked so familiar whilst he was pouring some Chinese tea for them both. He walked over to the lounge and gestured JiaYi to sit as he handed him his tea. "So what brings you here, I mean like how have you come to find me here – do you live here?"

"To be honest I don't live around here…" JiaYi started, as if things could not get more strange."I'm not really sure how I actually got this feeling, this vibe running through me that directed me…here…to you" Jia Yi added, "I really can't explain how I managed to find you"

FengGe didn't really know what or how to reply, except what was going through his head in which at the time there were so many questions he wanted answered.

"Well you're here now, stay for a while, I'm sure my family won't mind an extra mouth to feed." FengGe offered, "If you don't mind me asking, you said you aren't from around here, how is it that you know this place, as everyone in this village knows each one another?" FengGe asked.

"I Travel a lot and I used to come here a lot when I was younger, not so much now, but I recently came here to visit an old friend of mine who has recently passed-away." JiaYi started to answer.

"So sorry to hear about your friend, please accept my condolences"

"Thank you FengGe, something else is coming back to me though, I had an accident...No wait.!!... I think someone stabbed me and I was losing a lot of blood, so everything was a blur but I did see a figure over me seemingly helping me..." FengGe stopped JiaYi mid conversation. FengGe took a few sips from his cup that's when it struck him. "You got into a fight that day about a week ago?"

"Yeah that sounds about right, which means you are that blurred figure that saved my life and then ran-off" said JiaYi in an appreciative way.

They both had sat opposite each other seemingly looking at each other drinking their tea. FengGe thought he recognised the man but JiaYi suddenly eyes wide then looked directly at him.

"Oh you're welcome I just happen to be a passerby trying to be a Good Samaritan, though I was slightly hesitant at first." FengGe said

"A good Samaritan does not heal the way you did. You FengGe have the healing touch. And there is nothing wrong with being cautious before approaching a potential danger zone"

FengGe stared at him with his eyes wide.

'Me heal someone, you must be thinking of someone else. Someone who looks like me.' he played in his head, what came out was "Oh it was nothing just being a Good Samaritan" FengGe said.

FengGe and JiaYi had been chatting for so long that they hadn't noticed how dark it had gotten until his brother LongWei called out from downstairs "Brother Jayson are you upstairs?"

JiaYi looked at FengGe "Jayson???" he questioned. "YES! LongWei I am upstairs." He called back so his little brother could hear him. Jayson is the name I've given myself. Jayson FengGe is my full name."

"That is a great name you have chosen, it suits your whole personality. Shouldn't you go downstairs to see your family?"

"Yeah I should. I haven't seen them since this morning, why don't you come with me I'm sure you will get along well with them and almost dinner as well."

As they went downstairs, FengGe's mum was about to call for them, "Hello everyone, this is JiaYi he is a friend of mine, we started chatting and lost track of time"

"Da Jia hao 大家好, Thank you for having me over today and for sharing your food, I very much appreciate it" JiaYi said gracefully.

After dinner JiaYi didn't stay too long as he needed to be off to prepare another journey. FengGe cleared away everything before heading off to bed to get a good night sleep...but something kept him awake for half the night, he kept trying to go back to sleep, tossing and turning which he rarely does.

"That's more than a good person seems like you have the…" he paused, "...the ...healing touch... don't be scared, embrace it and control it. For your destiny is only the beginning" JiaYi said as he got out of his seat. "There is more to you than meets the eye FengGe, don't let yourself down, I've seen you around, you have too much too lose." JiaYi encouraged him as he showed himself out the door.

Later that evening FengGe had not stopped thinking about what JiaYi had told him, he recited 'You have the gift, learn to control it…' it kept playing in his head until he fell asleep.

That sentence really got to him as it was still in his head the next morning. He tried to figure it out, but he was also trying to focus on his tasks for the day as he had a busy one. He had to make a huge batch of buns and deliver several orders.

During one of his deliveries he saw JiaYi, he wanted to approach him but turned away as he saw the man was walking oblivious to FengGe. He carried on finishing his deliveries before heading home for the evening to just shower and relax, almost losing control his hand started to glow. He felt the power flowing through his entire body, almost overpowering him. He felt as though he needed to be physically stronger himself.

He knew what he had to do, he needed to get fitter, so he said to himself 'I will run in the evening after work and find a way to keep the strength in my arms'. He started to drift off and just fell asleep on his bed.

The following morning he woke up slightly earlier than usual, although he felt like laying in, but he knew he couldn't, instead he went into the kitchen and cooked breakfast for his mum, dad and younger brother, he was feeling refreshed ready for another day of baking fresh buns.

FengGe had so much energy, this rush…...he felt like he was on fire. He was moving so swift and fast, he closed up early to go home and go for a run. He was only thinking about 20 minutes, but when he started to run, the energy grew stronger almost like a power boost, he lost control of his legs and ran for miles. He eventually managed to regain control of his body and power and ran back home feeling exhilarated.

His mum and dad didn't really notice anything different about him but his younger brother Long Wei was staring at him, smiling with confidence. Long Wei had always looked up to FengGe.

FengGe was even happier seeing his Brothers smile from ear to ear.

All was going well till he suddenly couldn't stop thinking about what other reason there might be to meet JiaYi. Then this guy walked past him holding up a sign saying

'There are NO coincidences when meeting people, those you meet have a purpose, whether you choose to help them is up to you'
