Nicolette has just arrived in front of Sidney’s penthouse bringing a homemade food. She brings him food every weekend like today or anytime when she’s free because she doesn’t like him living on pizza and all of those sweets and junk food all the time. She knew he’s been to those parties again last night and might not even eat breakfast.
She rang the bell, waiting for him to open the door.
Azalea heard the doorbell and quickly took her earbuds out. She then opened the door. The first thing she noticed was food, the second was the girl. “Um… hello,” she said.
"Oh," Nicolette was quite surprised to see an unfamiliar girl inside Sidney’s house. He never made his affairs stayed until late in the afternoon. She wanted to asked her who she is, but she felt that it’s none of her business. "Hello, is Sidney home?" She smiled simply.
"Yes, though he’s currently asleep on the couch," Azalea said as she opened the door wider so the girl could come in. "Who are you? If you don’t mind telling me." She was curious as to who the girl was and a bit nervous about letting her in, but she had food, therefore, it was ok. Right?
"I’m Nicolette. We’re good friends, like siblings." She came in and put the lunchboxes in the kitchen. Nicolette stared at Sidney who was sleeping on the couch. She sighed and rolled her eyes. Was the nightstand too tiring for him he didn’t even go into his bedroom? "Has he eaten breakfast?"
"No, he hasn’t eaten anything yet," Azalea said as she closed the door and walked over to the girl. "He’s had a rough morning so far. Do you need any help with the food?"
"…No wonder he looks miserable. And yes please, I could use a little help." She then approached Sidney in the couch, waking him up. "Wake up, sleepy bear. The hibernating season is over."
“..N-no I don’t. I don’t.” He’s mumbling in his sleep.
"You don’t what?" She shook him harder, stripping the blanket off him "Hey, wake up!" She flicked her fingers near his ear. "Eat first and then you can sleep."
Sidney’s eyelids fluttered open. He blinked his eyes sleepily to the sight of his best friend in front of him. “Oh, Nic! Thank Gods, it’s you!” He immediately hugged her. “I just woke up from this really strange dream! I was in a hotel and accidentally married some girl I don’t know. And-and then I brought her home, but now I can see that everything is not real—”
But she was a clever woman and got the situation immediately. “..You married her?” She glanced at Azalea in the kitchen.
Sidney looked into the kitchen and saw that Azalea was still there. He gasped and jumped back onto the couch. It was real! And did he just revealed to Nicolette that he’s married? Oh, it’s so done.
Azalea crossed her arms and glared at Sidney. “Don’t worry, we’re getting a divorce. Sidney’s idea. Well, I suggested it, but he hopped all over it,” she said quickly at looking at Nicolette. “Besides, he doesn’t really know who I am. Neither of you do.”
"Divorce?!" She made a shocked expression and glared at her best friend. "You…are you out of your mind?!" She hit him on his arm. "You think you can just marry someone and divorce them on the next day?!"
Sidney looked scared and sad and confused. “But. Nic…it was all a mistake!”
"Your—" She pointed sharply at his face, "Your mistake. Now try to be responsible and act like a man!” For gods’ sake she’d always reminded him to be careful in attending those parties.
"It’s fine with me if he wants a divorce. I don’t really care either way," she said. Actually, the last part was a lie, she did care, she just didn’t want anyone to know. Luckily, they didn’t know her, therefore, they couldn’t see the change in her eyes as she said that.
"Unfortunately, it’s not fine with me." She crossed her arms, still glaring at the red-haired male on the couch. "I would fucking kill him if he does that." She went to take the food from the kitchen and slammed it on the table in front of him. "Now eat!"
"Nic, I wasn’t…"
“EAT!" She took the food and forcefully fed him with it. She stopped after he coughed on it. "Oh right. Now why don’t you let wifey feed you?" She gestured at Azalea to come. She sat on the couch beside him, feeling so angry all of a sudden. It must be the wedding. He is married?! How could he—she meant they’re close friends. He should at least tell her, right?
Azalea hesitated, then walked over to them. She didn’t do anything though and kind of stood there awkwardly. At least it was awkward for her. “Why isn’t it ok with you if we get a divorce?” she asked cautiously, not wanting to have the anger turned on herself.
“Because,” She threw Sidney who was eating, a threatening smile, “He’s messed up so much things in the past and had other people covered up for him. And I’m done with it. It’s time for him to actually make up for his ‘mistakes’. I wouldn’t let him to get away with it again.”
"Again?" she asked.
'Has he done this before? I know he's had affairs with others, but has he actually proposed to any like with me?' she wondered nervously. She reached up to fiddle with a necklace, but remembered that she didn't put any on after the shower.
"No, I didn’t mean he’s married people before. But he messed up things, other things. Like, he is the master of chaos!" She barked at Sidney, who flinched away. She is probably one of those rare people who dare to stand up to him.
'That sounds really familiar, but where have I heard it? Well, whatever,' she thought to herself. She used to be really into the myths of different cultures and loved reading about them when she was younger, but by now she's forgotten most of it.
"Doesn’t surprise me. He does seem careless," Azalea said. She wasn’t trying to be mean, it’s just what she had observed. "So are you going to eat or not?" she asked addressing Sidney.
"I am…I am," He quickly shoved more of the food into his mouth. Even Nicolette’ cooking have always tasted excellent, it felt sour today.
