Katie Goris was taken aback by the news that Sofia Lanzo had insisted on talking to only her. "Really, Brother?" she asked General Billy Homes, who she affectionately referred to as Brother.
"Yes, Sister-in-law," General Billy replied. "I was also surprised by the demand and insistence."
Eric Crown, Katie's husband, looked on nonchalantly, his mind racing to connect the dots. What was the connection, he wondered? He turned to his wife. "Did you ever meet her when you were held captive at her brother's house?"
Katie Goris's expression turned somber as she recalled the painful memory. "Yes, I did remember a very short encounter. Sofia Lanzo came into the room where I was being held, she just stared then asked who I was, but I was so beaten I couldn't even open my mouth...then one of Marcus's men found her and dragged her out."
