Loving Flowers

Dancing amidst broken spring,

I hear stray mockingbirds sing

Embracing the stain it would bring

I now pain over your rose's fickle sting

Tired sunflowers staring into the sun

Rip my petals blue from one to none

Loves me, loves me not, echoing in my heart

As the lilies cry themselves apart,

If not love, what should I name this?

For I can't call it bliss, perhaps a name if any amiss

Please call it out, our flowers dreaded name

For even if you doubt, I'll love it all the same

To dance through spring along with you

This dream haunts me and remains untrue

So I'll wait for our flower's dreaded name

Hoping this broken spring brings us together
